I figured it can't hurt to share here (rather than on local Facebook groups!).

Mine are:
Sainsburys: Mini breaded cambemberts (bloody hell they're good!).
Aldi: Torro Loco red wine, and "extra special" cauliflower cheese
M&S: Dulce de leche truffles

All very healthy as you can see....

Another Aldi mention - pesto mayonnaise. Amazing in a fish finger sandwich.

Waitrose Balsamic Glaze is a hit in this house too.

ellephant · 21/11/2020 21:19

Also, Morrison's stone baked white pitta breads are above all others

Al1langdownthecleghole · 21/11/2020 21:20

But will y’all stop telling people about Moser Roth chocolate?

Honestly, you’d hate it.

ShinySquirrel · 21/11/2020 21:23

I came here to mention the Lidl authentic Greek yogurt, but was beaten to it.

Lidl's jars of curry sauces are very good, particularly the butter chicken. They are the kind that come with separate spices in the lid.

@kazza446

I’m just following as I’m a fat bitch who loves food 🤣
You and me both
miraloma · 21/11/2020 21:25

Iceland luxury thin frozen pizzas!

There's a ham and portabllo mushroom one and a spicy meats one - £1.75!

Also Iceland salt and vinegar fish fillets - they do a chip shop curry flavour one too.

myhobbyisouting · 21/11/2020 21:25

Oh I went right off the Aldi no.3 handwash, knocks me a bit funny now

I can eat the prawn cocktail crisps but again they're not walkers.

The Lidl frozen garlic pizza bread with cheese is awesome

Annamaywong25 · 21/11/2020 21:25

*looks at clock to see if I still have time to get to Aldi to pick up a bottle of Toro Loco. Really fancy it now WineEnvy

ItsAlwaysSunnyOnMN · 21/11/2020 21:28

Aldi - tear and share chocolate brioche, potato gratin, salmon wellington in cheese sauce, chocolate profiteroles, a Portuguese red wine that I can not remember the name of

Sainsbury’s - potato and chickpea curry

Lidl - spinach and feta in filo pastry ring thing (it’s sold in Greek week) lots of other lovely food in the Spanish and Greek weeks. Milk chocolate hazelnut bar

icanboogieboogiewoogie · 21/11/2020 21:28

The Aldi chicken and mango flatbread pizza is lovely. And Aldi layered yoghurts (the fancy ones) are really good too.

ItsAlwaysSunnyOnMN · 21/11/2020 21:32

Aldi and Lidl Greek yogurt is really good too

Morrison’s tiger bread is really good (no Morrison’s close by ☹️)

ReallySpicyCurry · 21/11/2020 21:33

For the love of fuck why doesn't aldi come over to NI already

firstevernamechange · 21/11/2020 21:34

Lidl Wine is great value, as are their world food weeks. Bread is fantastic and cheap (speaking as a German).
As a rule, I find Sainsbury's own brand b far the most reliable and their TTD range is almost alway excellent. Also the best flavour and durability for veg: Sainsbury's.
Best tinned tomatoes by a mile is Tesco's own.

Douro?

And yes yes on the salmon wellington.

waffodil · 21/11/2020 21:38

I think I'll have to try the toro loco. I'm so impressed with Aldi alcohol, the pink gin is amazing as is the ruby port.
Food wise the Aldi fish burgers in the frozen section are lovely on a bun with tartare sauce. I've not tried the flavoured mayo but I used to buy the standard mayo all the time but then the flavour changed and tastes a bit musty Confused the pretzel chocolate bar is yum!

ItsAlwaysSunnyOnMN · 21/11/2020 21:40

Yes that’s the wine MKCH it’s really nice

The salmon Wellington is amazing value for money

Must pop to Lidl this week

TatianaBis · 21/11/2020 21:41

Sainsbury’s coffee and walnut cake - far superior to Waitrose and M&S versions.

Waitrose Natoora hummus with turmeric and orange.

bearlyactive · 21/11/2020 21:41

ItsAlwaysSunny You beat me to it, I was going to suggest the tear and share brioche as well, but I prefer the custard one (love a bit of custard over here).

Sainsbury's custard doughnuts are the best! (Not the refrigerated ones, the ones in paper bags. Not sure if you can get them right now!)

Moving away from custard, Aldi's creme brulee is great too. Oh wait... I guess that's sort-of a custard as well...

Pepperwand · 21/11/2020 21:44

Waitrose - tiramisu, we've tried most supermarket versions and this is by far the best.

Aldi - salted root vegetable crisps, rosemary crackers and fillet steak.

Costco - Barefoot Malbec you can buy a box of 6 bottles for £30. It's by far the nicest red wine I've tried at that price (and higher) and I've tried a lot!

baffledcoconut · 21/11/2020 21:45

Lidl jars of grilled artichokes. And the Lidl sundried tomatoes with capers. Absolute dogs bollocks and less than £1 a jar.

Smoke hummus from Waitrose is the nuts.

Anything from Lidl bakery.

ItsAlwaysSunnyOnMN · 21/11/2020 21:45

bearlyactive as you like custard you might like the chocolate tear and share heated up with a little custard

It’s an amazing pudding

Gillypip · 21/11/2020 21:47

Here's my Lidl mentions:

For meat: the meatballs
Lidls own brand snickers
Their nappies are the best
The greek yogurts
They have a sliced smoked cheese .. yum
Their pre popped popcorn ( multi bag - dark blue bag)

ManxiousCat · 21/11/2020 21:47

I love Toro Loco, I've stocked up on a few bottles.
Aldi Passion Fruit Curd is heavenly, I use it for desserts, home made cheesecakes, Macarons etc.

Aldi Scallops in the shells you bake in the oven... my guilty but affordable pleasure

Aldi Rheinbacher premium lager, as good as any big brand, better actually.

Mrsjayy · 21/11/2020 21:50

Aldi cheese tartlets come in a 2, pack are delicious I agree about the cauliflower cheese it's lovely and better than I could make.

Qpobb · 21/11/2020 21:51

I'm so glad I started this thread now for these amazing tip offs, but angry at myself in equal measure as my waist line can't afford to take any more of a beating!!

Anyone tried the white chocolate baileys from Aldi yet?? Grin
