Or am I missing something?
As with me, my friend lives away from her new DP. They spent the first lockdown together but she travelled home when the new lockdown came into force. She lives about an hour away.
Today, she is posting on FB with her partner, a photo of them both in the kitchen making Christmas cake.
None of them are single households and it was definitely taken today.

Well I'm not seeing my parents at Christmas despite the 'relaxed rules' because one of them is very ill. However, if the virus is understanding enough to allow people the choice at Christmas, it can let us see our boyfriends/girlfriends with whom we do not live now, right?

To all the smart ar&es with covid police comments, it might be your family that die from it spreading - it will definitely be somebody's, think......

It was legal to mix households only weeks ago, were you lecturing people about their families dying then?

Not where I am.

Bluesheep8 · 23/11/2020 10:27

And yet people still were.

@SheepandCow - 0/10 for critical thinking for you I'm afraid. Baking a cake with your partner is now akin to drink driving. Just nuts. Do you really think it's healthy for society for people to act like marshalls on everyone else's behaviour? It's dangerous and appeals to the very petty and small minded who just love the chance to have a bit of power/ feeling of superiority to others. Hence the reference to the Hitler Youth - people worked up into a frenzy and pointing the finger at others living their lives because it's against the "rules". Society is bending over backwards to protect the elderly at the moment. The restrictions on life are such an overreach and disproportionate - while we are talking about driving - should we ban driving to protect every life which could be lost in an accident? Getting yourself in a rage because a couple bake a cake together is utterly pathetic. The biggest rule breaker in all of this is the government who are using open wards in hospitals with Covid and non-Covid patients in the same room. This is a fact. Why don't you take your ill-informed outrage and point it in the right direction?

One would think so yes. However I expect the virus is very clever and knows not to attack in the season of goodwill.

borntohula · 23/11/2020 12:14

@Bluesheep8 sorry, I should bear in mind that not everyone is in England. Blush

Bluesheep8 · 23/11/2020 12:25

I'm in England. We were in Tier 2. No mixing of households.

Bluesheep8 · 23/11/2020 12:26

And in local lockdown before that.

tappitytaptap · 23/11/2020 13:11

A Facebook friend of mine posted photos of her family mixing with two others (her extended family) outside yesterday, and I notice they have been deleted today. I do wonder whether she’s had messages from someone as she also appears to have locked down her Facebook account quite a lot.... do people really have nothing better to do than spy on others?

Bluesheep8 · 23/11/2020 13:25

I don't think anyone's spying on others and I for one certainly have better things to do. It just royally pisses me off to see people selfishly doing as they please when I have followed the rules to the letter since the start Hmm

Princessposie · 23/11/2020 13:33

Great ‘friend’ you are OP.

SheepandCow · 23/11/2020 14:08

People are comparing saving lives and protecting our hard working NHS staff from further trauma...with perpetuators of mass genocide (that included murdering the elderly, sick, and disabled... like Covid is doing)!

Then again, I knew the anti Covid restrictions and 'let an infectious virus spread and kill' was coming from the far right - so I shouldn't really be surprised.

Ignorant and fascist. What a combo!

Like scientific expert, Professor Devi Sridhar says, viruses move when people move.
