Or am I missing something?
As with me, my friend lives away from her new DP. They spent the first lockdown together but she travelled home when the new lockdown came into force. She lives about an hour away.
Today, she is posting on FB with her partner, a photo of them both in the kitchen making Christmas cake.
None of them are single households and it was definitely taken today.

It’s very obvious why we’re having > 20k cases and 500 deaths a day. And why some of us can’t go out at all. Arseholes.

Cam2020 · 21/11/2020 17:00

I saw Goody Proctor mixing a bowl of currants.

Perfect response!

Skipsurvey · 21/11/2020 17:15

where is this op?

rwalker · 21/11/2020 17:24

Is lockdown geting to you

loulouljh · 21/11/2020 17:28

What a sin! Report as soon as possible...hopefully you can make their lives a misery!

SynchroSwimmer · 21/11/2020 17:29

Against the rules, yes. However I can’t imagine being in this situation, it must be really hard. Unable to see your partner for you don’t know how long. Forced separation. I can’t judge them really

Biscuit
Charleyhorses · 21/11/2020 17:36

To get through the next stage of this shit show I am firmly ignoring what others are doing.

Most of us are being sensible.

vodkaredbullgirl · 21/11/2020 17:37

I mix with loads of households, its called work.

Thereluctantstepmother · 21/11/2020 17:38

None of your biz!

Oodlesofnoodles20 · 21/11/2020 17:38

You know what they say about curiosity....

LST · 21/11/2020 17:42

I met with my mum today. I'm going to ring the police myself

Runmybathforme · 21/11/2020 17:42

I live an hour from my DP. I work on the frontline, he works from home. He’s going mad with the isolation, I need to relax and get away from everything at the weekends, so we continue to see each other then, have done all the way through this. We don’t see anyone else , both single households.

AdobeWanKenobi · 21/11/2020 17:47

For the love of god hoist your fucking judgemental knickers as far as they can go and bore off.

EveryFlightBeginsWithAFall · 21/11/2020 17:48

Stupid rule keeping people in relationships apart. I'm always surprised how many people stuck to it for so long

speakout · 21/11/2020 17:51

I buy ALDI christmas cake, ice it and pass it off as my own.- Maybe that would work?

Mulhollandmagoo · 21/11/2020 17:59

Loosely off topic.... do I still have time to make a Christmas cake or is it too late now? Always wanted to have a go!

OP, I would just let it be if I were you! It's a relatively minimal risk and it's something they have decided its worth it. You're correct in that it's not allowed but people are doing much worse

Diva66 · 21/11/2020 18:08

@draughtycatflap

I’d report them just for making Christmas cake. So passé.
Brilliant!
CeibaTree · 21/11/2020 18:10

If you are that curious why not ask them directly rather than asking strangers on mumsnet who have no idea of your friend and her boyfriend's situations? 🤷‍♀️

Kerberos · 21/11/2020 18:10
@SavoyCabbage it's stir up Sunday tomorrow. The time when Christmas cakes and puddings are traditionally made.
I've always wanted to make Christmas cake and always always remembered "too late". You mean I can make it tomorrow??

Anyone have a recipe link or should I be less lazy and Google Stir up Sunday?

CeibaTree · 21/11/2020 18:11

I think it's too late for christmas cake, but it's stir-up sunday tomorrow when christmas puddings are traditionally made :)

YABVVVVVVVU to post this outside the Coronavirus topic: tittle-tattle threads carrying out Saint Boris's snooping agenda should be quarantined there.

RUOKHon · 21/11/2020 18:12

I surprised they left it this late to make a Christmas cake tbh.

flaviaritt · 21/11/2020 18:12

Just wind your neck in, OP. That’s all you need to do.
