Victorian tiles? Yes or no?

Hi,

Being a bit cheeky posting here, but doing it for the greater traffic.

Is this nice or not? (See attachment)

Part of me loves the Victorian aspect
And the other half thinks that it might look nice now but in a couple of years will look old...but not in a charming way.

Does anyone have these tiles? Are they easy to keep clean etc.

They are for the hallway. Should I just get larger tiles?

Thanks all

@Shastabeast they look lovely!! I think you should definitely restore. The dark colour I think makes it look more authentic. I wish I had original tiles!

@StarlightLady thanks for the advice. The lookalikes are porcelain but small. I understand larger tiles are easier to clean but was worried that they are also easier to mark...compared to small tiles that look more authentic but also look more busy to disguise marks and dirt. But you do make a good point about grouting...

They look wonderful!

I love the smaller Victorian tiles - not so
keen on the bigger ones, look a bit like fake marble or a conference centre. I'd love a border pattern with colours in it!

@Simarilion thanks that’s actually a great idea! I’m going to see if I can get a coloured border.

Does anyone have black and white tiles with coloured border that I can see?

It’s such a “busy” look.
