Just that really, never had it before but wondering if I should this year. I’m in my 30s.

Yes I do. I always have it as I'm asthmatic.

kittykat35 · 18/11/2020 19:22

Yes I get it free through work so I always get it.

Pipandmum · 18/11/2020 19:22

Yes. Type 1 diabetic.

Fluffybutter · 18/11/2020 19:23

Not since I was pregnant.
Have paid to have it in a couple of weeks just to be on the safe side .

MikeFromSpaced · 18/11/2020 19:23

Yes - mild asthma. DS has it too for asthma.

LethargicLumpOfLockdownLard · 18/11/2020 19:24

Only because I'm a nurse. I wouldn't bother but I'd hate to catch it and pass it on to someone who gets really ill. Same reason I will have the covid vaccine when it comes out.
I have them to protect others, but I wouldn't otherwise.

HazeyJaneII · 18/11/2020 19:25

Yes - I have asthma and am a parent carer, so get it through our Drs surgery.
Dd2 and ds get it anyway and this year we have all had it as we are shielding ds.

AvoidingRealHumans · 18/11/2020 19:25

No. 30 and fit & healthy, I trust in my immune system. I don't let my children get it either.

Thehop · 18/11/2020 19:27

I used to but I’ve missed it this year. It makes me poorly for a good 4 days and I couldn’t face it. Stupid, I know, but I’m so bloody tired.

Humpty11 · 18/11/2020 19:27

I’m a nurse so get it yearly but would forever get it to protect vulnerable people around me even if I left nursing.

RuggerHug · 18/11/2020 19:27

Every year since my early 20s. Haven't been able to get one this year though.

uka888 · 18/11/2020 19:27

In the local Asda pharmacist they have availability which has made me think maybe I should - boots have no availability and I wouldn’t qualify to have it at the doctors but I’m not sure . Has anyone else had it at their local supermarket pharmacist?!

Yep.

Having flu is a lottery and sometimes I have been extremely ill with it.

Now I'm eligible for the vaccination, I get it as soon as it's available each year - and that means I'm less of a risk to others as well.

Bubblemonkey · 18/11/2020 19:31

Asthmatic & work in the nhs. Get bombarded with texts & emails from both sides. Easier just to get it done with 🤷🏼‍♀️

DrDreReturns · 18/11/2020 19:31

Not the flu jab but I had the pneumonia one at Boots - my work paid for it. Otherwise it's £70.
Personally I'll have every vaccine I can.

Ghouliet · 18/11/2020 19:31

Yes. I have an auto immune issue so makes sense to try to lower risk. That and I’ve had flu 3 times when young, it’s not pleasant.

ilovesooty · 18/11/2020 19:32

Yes every year. I got it at Asda this year.

dewisant2020 · 18/11/2020 19:34

I always have the flu jab as I'm a nurse and would hate to pass the flu onto someone who could become seriously poorly.
I will also have the Covid vaccine for the same reason

SaveWaterDrinkGin · 18/11/2020 19:39

Yes. I actually got it free this year as I’m pregnant but I’ve always paid to have it in the past. It’s about £15. To be honest I’d pay a lot more not to have flu, it’s horrible. I also did it to protect my dad when he was immunocompromised.

NameChange84 · 18/11/2020 19:41

I’m in my 30s, I have had the flu jab every year for almost 15 years. I’ve also had the pneumonia jab. I did get flu two years ago but I think that was the year they messed up with not knowing the prevalent strain that year.

Suzi888 · 18/11/2020 19:42

I had it in Sainsbury’s as my mum is classed as vulnerable. I don’t normally though.

Cuppaand2biscuits · 18/11/2020 19:42

Yes, I get a free one from work. Had it a few weeks ago but feel quite lucky to have got the appointment as a lot of my colleagues haven't been able to get one.

ShinyMe · 18/11/2020 19:43

I always have it. We usually get it through work, but they can't get any this year so have told us to pay and they'll reimburse us, but there are none to be had anywhere that I can find.

AuntieMarys · 18/11/2020 19:44

Had it for the first time in September...I'm 60

DrizzleandDamp · 18/11/2020 19:45

Yep after DD2 age 1 was in hospital for a week with it, and I couldn’t function for her with it.

Won’t be getting or giving To the kids Covid though.
