Excruciating abdo pain. 111 said wait for call from OOH within 6 hours. In so much pain. Real agony.

Call 111 again and tell them the symptoms are getting worse. Good luck.

Luzina · 17/11/2020 01:38

Can you call 111 back and say that you can’t wait 6 hours?

Santasfuckstick · 17/11/2020 01:38

If it's become unbearable absolutely do it!

Unless you can safely and quickly get to A&E yourself.

Obviously it's impossible to say over the web, but it could well be something minor that's causing the issue or it could be something that needs immediate attention.

Good luck and fingers crossed it's something easily treated.

MorningNinja · 17/11/2020 01:39

Can you get yourself to A&E? You could be waiting hours for an ambulance.

WhatWouldYouDoWhatWouldJesusDo · 17/11/2020 02:07

Of course you should. I had to do the same 3 weeks ago, I had pancreatitis which turned very nasty. I could barely speak so certainly couldn't have got myself to hospital.

A week in hospital, a tonne of morphine and antibiotics and a stent inserted into my pancreas later I'm back home.

Italiangreyhound · 17/11/2020 02:18

Go to A and E.

CaptainCabinets · 17/11/2020 02:19

Can you get yourself to A&E by taxi or a lift? Calling 999 isn’t a guaranteed blue light ambulance.

110APiccadilly · 17/11/2020 02:21

Call 999, or get yourself to A&E. If you're in that much pain, you need to be looked at.

BangersAndMush · 17/11/2020 02:23

Ambulance can take hours, so I would first be looking for ways to get to A and E myself, but it you can't do that then yes, call an ambulance

Scarlettpixie · 17/11/2020 02:24

Hope you are ok. I am also awake with abdo pain.

I had similar a few weeks back and called 111 who sent an ambulance. They checked me over and by then as it was starting to settle a bit and my ecg, bp, sugar were normal, allowed me to stay home and wait for my next dose of painkillers though would have happily taken me to hospital too. A couple of weeks after I did end up in a&e with what was assumed to be gastritis. I am now waiting for more tests. My pain tonight is like the first time and I am sitting it out but had I not been checked previously I would be quite worried.

Both times the ambulance was there in about 15 mins so don’t assume it will be hours. Depends where you live and how busy they are.

Ring 111 back if you haven’t already and it isn’t easing. They can escalate and will send and ambulance if they need too. That said, if it is really bad just call 999.

What sort of pain is it? Do you know the cause?

grassisjeweled · 17/11/2020 02:29

Op? Did you call?

Idunnoyou · 17/11/2020 03:10

Hope you're okay?

jessstan1 · 17/11/2020 04:19

Please let us know how you are.

Spaghettibetty345 · 17/11/2020 06:05

I would go to a&e. Not trying to down play your pain but if you can type then you can’t be in agony.

Mittens030869 · 17/11/2020 06:41

I would get yourself to A&E if you can. If you’re not able to drive, then you could cal a taxi.

louise4745 · 17/11/2020 06:46

I'd say A and E for life threatening situations only could you get a taxi / lift?

Also if your pain is that bad you don't want to be sat in reception with others. Do they have a system for who needs to be seen quickly?

LucyAutumn · 17/11/2020 06:49

Hope you're ok OP Sad

Charleyhorses · 17/11/2020 07:21

If you think you need an ambulance call one! Assuming you are a normal sensible human being.

TheTrollFairy · 17/11/2020 07:22

If you are in that much pain then call for an ambulance!

Namechangedforthisoct2 · 17/11/2020 07:25

I have NFE had several stomach pain, saw my GO same day, he sent me straight to A&E I’d had a burst (giant) cyst on my ovaries. I needed emergency surgery or else it would of turned really nasty.
Hope all is ok

Did you go to A&E?
You don't need to do what 111 say, if you're in agony call an ambulance

bearlyactive · 17/11/2020 07:33

I hope you're okay OP

Worried234 · 17/11/2020 07:56

Thanks for all your replies. Im a bit scared.
My god, morphine is a bloody wonder drug, even if it did make me vomit.

Alternista · 17/11/2020 08:04

Ah poor you OP, no wonder you’re scared. You’re in the right place though. Did you have any symptoms at all before this? Well done for going in.
