I just watched While You Were Sleeping, and I remember loving the romance between Sandra Bullock and Bill Pullman and wishing I could have someone like that. I also thought Bill Pullman was great in Independence Day. But then he played that paedophile in Torchwood so effectively that I just can't get that character out of my head now when I watch WYWS and that was one of my favourite romcoms

James McAvoy - Filth

Coldilox · 14/11/2020 10:36

I have been obsessed with Gillian Anderson for 26 years, since I was 13. And now she’s playing Margaret Thatcher. So wrong l!

SimonJT · 14/11/2020 10:37

Not stopped liking the actor, but The Deep in The Boys is incredibly attractive, so yeah, thats now problematic.

DifficultPifcultLemonDifficult · 14/11/2020 10:40

I have absolutely hated Mary Steenburgen in everything since watching Philidelphia.

Im sure she is perfectly lovely in real life, but every time I see her it reminds me of what a fucking awful person she portrayed in that film.

The reverse......... I really liked Hathaway in Lewis, but Lawrence Fox's rants have have ruined him for me.

Finfintytint · 14/11/2020 10:43

James Norton in Happy Valley. His character was so evil.

elgreco · 14/11/2020 10:45

Christian bale in American physco

I agree with that one. Really liked him as Hathaway!

But he’s lovely as Sydney the vicar! I like him too much to go off which surprised me because in Happy Valley he was repulsive.
Janegrey333 · 14/11/2020 10:47

...go off him...

Janegrey333 · 14/11/2020 10:49

Bill Pullman is a brilliant actor. That side eye thing he does is so clever. Or something!

Apparently Anderson as Thatcher has proved traumatic for a lot of people Grin Including DH.
VeganVeal · 14/11/2020 10:52

Not because of a character he played, but Johnny Depp, for obvious reasons

He’s also very attractive in The Sinner- I’d love to find me a man like that! 💜

I had the reverse with Gillian Anderson. Loved her and then saw an interview she did where she was taking the piss out of X Files fans at Comic Con. She seemed so nasty and mean spirited.

Sarah Jessica Parker. I just see the awful, vacuous, self-absorbed brat Carrie Bradshaw whenever I see her.

Winterwoo · 14/11/2020 11:10

Kevin Bacon after sleepers

JustHereWithPopcorn · 14/11/2020 11:14

Tom Hardy in Peaky Blinders just ruined it for me

enjoyingthequiet · 14/11/2020 11:18

Jamie Dornan - The Fall. Totally realistically creepy.

Iwillneverbesatisfied · 14/11/2020 11:41

I still like Gillian Anderson but she's too thin to play Thatcher. The hair looks ridiculous on her. She does a good job of the accent and mannerisms if you look at the trailer.

I think Olivia Colman was a terrible choice for playing the Queen. Loved her in fleabag but gone off her due to her awful portrayal of the Queen.

Had the reverse with Matt Smith. Hated him in Dr Who (no one can beat Tennant although Capaldi comes close). Matt Smith was great as Prince Phillip though.

I've never forgiven Robert Carlyle for murdering Christopher Ecclestone in Cracker. Must be 20 years ago!

BangersAndMush · 14/11/2020 11:52

Joseph Fiennes. After seeing him in Handmaid's Tale I just couldn't look at him in the same way. I know he is probably isn't a misogynistic rapist in real life but... It still gave me chills

peepercountry · 14/11/2020 11:52

He's much sexier in that then he is in 50 shades.

WellTidy · 14/11/2020 11:55

David Tennant after he played the serial killer in Des. I couldn’t look at him for a few weeks. Thankfully it is fading as he is a really good actor.
