I just watched While You Were Sleeping, and I remember loving the romance between Sandra Bullock and Bill Pullman and wishing I could have someone like that. I also thought Bill Pullman was great in Independence Day. But then he played that paedophile in Torchwood so effectively that I just can't get that character out of my head now when I watch WYWS and that was one of my favourite romcoms

The opposite way around

I always think Daniel Craig is as hot as it gets in James Bond.

Then I saw him interviewed, in his little cardigan. Speaking all “ actor lovey and darling ” and realised in real life he was a proper knobber. Put me right off. It was the least masculine thing I’d seen.

I manage to put it behind me though when I watch him in James Bond 😃

Robert de Niro cape fear

Walkthroughthefire · 14/11/2020 17:19

Iwan Rheon as Ramsey Snow. Loved him in misfits but Ramsey is up there with the evil-est characters ever.

CandleWick4 · 14/11/2020 17:22

Matt Dillon in Crash. Just don’t see him the same way anymore

Pickypolly · 14/11/2020 17:25

Kit Harrington, love that boy in GOT bit saw him in a Netflix thing , it’s police interviews, cant remember the name of it (the interview or some such) he was an awful character,
Really arrogant and horrid.

Nah, still love that boy. Grin

AlexisIsMySpiritAnimal · 14/11/2020 17:32

Just proves what great actors they are if they can truly make you hate them.
I've actually not seen many of the instances given here and it's put me off watching a lot of them now Grin

Mine is Dolores Umbridge. Absolutely ruined Imelda Staunton for me.

Bakerofcakes · 14/11/2020 17:34

@WellTidy

David Tennant after he played the serial killer in Des. I couldn’t look at him for a few weeks. Thankfully it is fading as he is a really good actor.
He does do evil very well. It was seeing him in Jessica Jones that put me off him. He was brilliant in Good Omens though.
RuffleCrow · 14/11/2020 17:39

I'm not sure even thatcher could makr Gillian Anderson less sexy.

On that subject, Jamie Dornan did nothing for me anyway but his character in The Fall would be enough to turn off anyone sane.

Samcro · 14/11/2020 17:56

@Crumpetstoday

Tommy Flanagan in Peaky Blinders, played the boys evil evil dad. It ruined the last couple of seasons of Sons of Anarchy for me, couldn’t look at Chibs in the same way.
Pmsl that is funny. So him playing chibs, who kills a lot of people was ok. Disclaimer i love SOA, think my user name gives that away.

Dominic West

Fancied McNulty in The Wire

But forget his latest shenanigans

after he played Fred West

🤢

EasternDailyStress · 14/11/2020 18:19

I couldn't bear Michael Elphick after watching him in the Elephant Man.

eddiemairswife · 14/11/2020 18:43

I was also going to say Dominic West after seeing him play Fred West. He looks so much like him that they could be twins.

Mammylamb · 14/11/2020 18:48

Loved Daniel Bruhl. But then he played a Nazi, and Assange, and it’s put me right off him

MinnieJackson · 14/11/2020 19:52

Dennis quaid was in a film I watched called the intruder I think and he was so scary and unhinged I can't watch him in the same light, cracking acting from him though

BreakfastOfWaffles · 14/11/2020 20:01

Hugo Weaving after he played the abusive father in Patrick Melrose. I can't watch anything with him in it now.

Squiffany · 14/11/2020 20:04

Eddie Redmayne. When I saw him in Fantastic Beasts, I realised he basically plays the same part in everything he’s been in (himself I assume).

Notjustanymum · 15/11/2020 08:51

Having always previously admired Zoe Wanamaker as a good actress, was horrified at her turn in Britannia, when playing Boudicca. I felt she really took the piss out of the production, rendering it a laughing stock, and undermining the efforts of the other actors in the series to try make it a rival to GoT. She’s gone way down in my estimation as a result...

DarkMutterings · 15/11/2020 08:54

Richard Gere - you'd think fairly harmless, after Internal Affair I couldn't watch him in anything

fantasmasgoria1 · 15/11/2020 08:57

I had to look up the deep from the boys. Nah he's not a patch on Jason momoa as aquaman.

PoloNeckKnickers · 15/11/2020 09:31

@MuseumOfYou

I've never forgiven Robert Carlyle for murdering Christopher Ecclestone in Cracker. Must be 20 years ago!
Closer to 30 years I think! Shock

Have you seen him in the Comic Relief sketch from a few years ago with Catherine Tate? Loved him in that 😂
