Has anyone had what they thought was periods during pregnancy ????
I haven’t been well recently, suppose you could say pregnancy symptoms. My issue is we haven’t actually done the deed in months and I have had what I thought was periods. I have been vomiting a lot/ been bloating and sorry for the tmi but piles came back ( haven’t had them since second pregnancy 7 years ago )
I just took a test this afternoon which has come up as a very clear positive, took another and the same result.
I am so confused right now. I will book an appointment with doctor of course but I’m in completely freak out mode.
It defo wouldn’t be planned I have 2 DC 13 and nearly 7.
Partner and I have been friends for a very very very long time but only started dating 11 months ago.
I don’t know what I am actually asking 🤣

Dd found out at 26 weeks, she had had regular periods and two negative tests (because she had a belly). She had another "period" after she had a scan confirming she was 26 weeks but none once she hit thirty weeks

Whattheactual20201 · 11/11/2020 18:42

Went all out and demolished chicken nuggets to 🤣

Get to gp and try and get a dating scan ASAP. My dsis is a midwife and she’s looked after women in labour who didn’t know until full term and gone to GP with terrible stomach pains (contractions). Good luck x

Seriouslyconfused3 · 11/11/2020 18:45

Aww such a lovely post congrats op!

Audreyseyebrows · 11/11/2020 18:48

You deserve chicken nuggets! Congratulations!

Jubaju · 11/11/2020 18:48

So you’d be at least 15/16 weeks at least 😮
Congratulation x

Hi OP. Tentative congratulations! Do you still feel sick or is the nausea passing now? Just trying to guesstimate how far along you could be.
As for the 'periods', it seems that plenty of women do still bleed throughout pregnancy....breakthrough bleeds at the times their periods would be due for example.

YesIReallyDoLikeRootBeer · 11/11/2020 18:55

I have a friend that had something similar happen. When she missed her period she said she could not be pregnant because she had not had sex in a while. Well turns out when she was "having her period" it was not actually her period. And coincidentally that baby turns 27 today.
Congratulations! How do you think your partner will react?

Whattheactual20201 · 11/11/2020 18:58

@Somethingsnappy a few months ago I was so ill, was being sick constantly i rang the doctors but I couldn’t be seen. My period Came and went etc
Then I started getting very bloated, I also have been needing to wee urgently if that make sense like as soon as I need to go I need to go, tiredness etc
My stomach is extremely bloated I’ve been in legging for the last 6 weeks the GP said it was probably IBS or something and told me to take laxatives
The piles is weirdly the final straw in taking the test. I suffered With piles really badly with DD but the last 4 weeks I have been bleeding every time going to the toilet and can tell they are back.

Congrats OP.

Sorry to crash your post but you have now worried me. I've been feeling the same for the last few months, minus the vomiting but have had bad nausea, headaches (which are common for me in pregnancy) and tiredness. I have also had that popping feeling in my tummy for the last 2 weeks, you know like when you first feel baby move around 16 weeks Confused

I've had regular periods so I thought i couldnt be pregnant, although the last two were lighter and shorter. Google said you cant have periods while pregnant so I thought it must be trapped gas Blush

I'll have to buy a test tomorrow to make sure Blush

@YesIReallyDoLikeRootBeer tbh my best guess he will not react he is extremely laid back I know eventually he would want kids ( he is now 34 with no kids ) my only issue is my youngest was diagnosed with a genetic syndrome at my 20 week scan and it has been very difficult 7 years ( I never passed it on ) but think I am a bit more panicky and what could wrong than what he would be.

@Whattheactual20201 I love McDonald's that's always been my craving and their cold coke off the pumps they have . Have you had any?
And @Sickofmysalary It was crazy she was I think 43 at the time I'm not sure, we both have 5 year olds now! I had a girl, she had a boy.
It's weird at times my daughter went through a stage of calling him uncle Shock so weird imagining him being an uncle at 5 😂😭.

pinkpetal2 · 11/11/2020 19:05

I've got a photo some where of them both laying in Moses baskets next to each other. And when I had my last baby December 2019, my mum was taken to the hospital for severe bleeding and cramps she thought was a bad period out of hand, and it was an early miscarriage she's 48/49. She miscarried the hour my son was born. Sad.

Sickofmysalary · 11/11/2020 19:08

Aww your poor mum. So sorry to hear that.
I’m guessing your age gap with your mum is similar to mine and my daughters. Hope it doesn’t happen to us! Mainly because I hope my baby days will be well behind me at that age Grin

Whattheactual20201 · 11/11/2020 19:12

Bluepolkadots42 · 11/11/2020 19:23

Gosh what a surprise! Congratulations OP! 2020 is definitely the year that hasn't gone as anyone thought it would Flowers

JingleAndTonic · 11/11/2020 19:27

@Sickofmysalary I think you mean this thread, she had her baby a few months ago Smile

OP I know someone who didn't know she was pregnant until she was in labour, she had regular periods and never once looked pregnant. She thought she was dying when the labour started because she didn't know! So at least you've found out sooner than she did Grin

Whattheactual20201 · 11/11/2020 19:29

@MaelyssQ haha don’t I am exactly that person It would happen to 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Oh how do I tell him 🤣
I have never had the experience to tell someone properly well who might actually be happy about it 🤣
DC1 was a teenager situation which never went down well
DC2 broke the camels back and he ran

OP posts:
pinkpetal2 · 11/11/2020 19:29

@Sickofmysalary Thank you, and I reckon it is close. My mum said exactly the same thing when she was told, " are you sure I thought my baby days were behind me" Grin.
