To be worried that Biden could be worse than Trump

Regarding foreign policy that is. I worry that Biden could be more hawk like than Trump and start or get involved in lots of wars? But I’m so pleased Trump is going, i couldn’t stand the man and I remember when he first got in I was petrified he’d start the next big war. But he didn’t and now I worry if Biden will be the one.

Localocal · 10/11/2020 22:53

What? Biden is not going to start any wars.

willstarttomorrow · 10/11/2020 22:58

Just to add- the issue is that politics has become so divisive. Same as in the UK- brexit by a tiny margin. A huge part of the UK have to accept policy that they did but vote for and will have a huge impact for generations. I find it really hard as I am pro EU (as in biggest free market in the world countries have been desperate to join). I consider my DC's future has been sold down the river by a load of mis-informed racists. But that is democracy.

Ddot · 10/11/2020 23:36

bluethrough I know what he said and I know it was bollocks but if your going to throw stones, get it right, bleach! Bellinisurge if you only want to discuss topics with people who agree with every thing you say, sit in a room alone with a mirror

Ddot · 10/11/2020 23:45

Willstarttomorrow calling millions of your country's population racist is rather off dont you think. If you dont like democracy and think your way of thinking is the only way, start your own party. Fascist are us.

Ddot · 10/11/2020 23:48

Signing off cos this is getting bitchy

Ddot · 10/11/2020 23:50

CharlieBoo told ya

Thisisworsethananticpated · 10/11/2020 23:53

Nobody could be worse than Trump. It’s just not possible

Of
Course it’s possible ! Read the history books 🤗

Flaxmeadow · 11/11/2020 00:14

Biden is a respectful honorable man

All that phoney "I'm Irish" stuff though. A doddery old ethno-nationalist performative Irish American is such massive cringe.

Like most so called "Irish Americans", he cherry picks just one ancestor, born 200 years ago, to identify with. Out of many many other ancestors who were not Irish.

Trump, for all all his faults, wasn't that fake

Mamanyt · 11/11/2020 00:49

Biden is a measured, emotionally stable man who does not act in haste. He is far, FAR less likely than Trump to start a war, and far, far more likely that Trump not to escalate an imagined slight into one. After January 20, 2021 at 12:01 Eastern Time, the word will be a much safer place to live.

Trump asked, seriously and repeatedly, "If I have nukes, why can't I use them if I want to? He's been a better president than I thought, if only because I was convinced that he'd start a major nuclear war within the first six months of his presidency.

That said, he still has 70-some-odd days left in office, and he is a malignant narcissist who has nothing left to lose. He may do it yet. If so, I abjectly apologize ahead of time. We won't be here for me to do it afterward.

Aridane · 11/11/2020 00:52

@AdoptedBumpkin

TBH I am not sure a 78-year-old with possible dementia will be wanting to go to war if they can avoid it. I suspect Biden will keep the seat warm for Harris, and she will fight the next election.
🙄
DioneTheDiabolist · 11/11/2020 00:55

YABU OP because had Trump been elected to a second term, he would have had a war so he could say he won it.

TibetanTerrier · 11/11/2020 04:02

@blueangel19

all Butteredtoast55 hopefully he will be more mature than Trump?
A new born baby would be more mature than The Chump.
eaglejulesk · 11/11/2020 04:59

@caringcarer- and you called Kamala Harris Kamila. What exactly was the point you were trying to make????

Parker231 · 11/11/2020 06:28

Trump was a fake President. He tried to run the country as he would his businesses - ‘we do it my way or not at all”. He was a bankrupt failed business man.

Gremlinsateit · 11/11/2020 06:42

I’m always amazed by Republican supporters jumping online to say Democrats are hawks and getting support. Look at Reagan, Bush 1 and 2, and then wonder why there is such a narrative that Hillary was a hawk, Kamala is a hawk, Dems will trigger wars. It’s blatant BS.

blueangel19 · 11/11/2020 06:42

Trump, for all all his faults, wasn't that fake

Yes, this is the problem I have with Biden and Kamala. They are as fake as a politicians can get. Kudos to them because it paid off.

blueangel19 · 11/11/2020 06:50

And lucky for them Trump was so hated.

Gremlinsateit · 11/11/2020 06:57

Trump wasn’t fake? The guy with the private jet and Fifth Ave penthouse pretending to be one of the people? Got millions from his father and pretended to be self made? Went bankrupt repeatedly and pretended to be successful? Told so many lies in office that media outlets had to start publishing fact checks?

Mamanyt · 11/11/2020 07:01

@blueangel19

Trump, for all all his faults, wasn't that fake

Yes, this is the problem I have with Biden and Kamala. They are as fake as a politicians can get. Kudos to them because it paid off.

You all really think Trump wasn't fake? OH MY GOD! Look up his fact checks. As of MAY of this year, fact-checkers had found a bit over 18,000 lies since in office. And that's before he REALLY started campaigning! And those are known, public lies. Trump claims to be a billionaire, but is broke. Trump claims to be a businessman, but BANKRUPTED A CASINO. Trump's hair hangs almost to his shoulders on two sides so that it can hide his balding head. It's kinda a flip, flap, flop style. And goodness knows, his skin tone is as fake as it can get. No, the major fake is on his way out, and we're going on to the garden-variety "politician" fake. I prefer that. It is far less dangerous.
Lonelycrab · 11/11/2020 07:07

Well Trumps certainly genuine.

Genuinely full of shit.

And he’s just changed his defence chief. And he’s cornered, and angry. So I wouldn’t count on him not starting a war over the coming weeks. Or trying to at least.

longwayoff · 11/11/2020 07:10

Really OP? and the sky might fall in as well. But Biden will not be worse than Trump (how can anyone think that) and the sky will still be the sky.

Parker231 · 11/11/2020 07:15

Just been reading about Trump’s plans to undermine the postal service so that there would be difficulties with the mail in votes. He’s so transparent and now it’s backfired on him.

blueangel19 · 11/11/2020 07:20

all Mamanyt

I said I find Kamala and Biden fake. If you think Biden and Kamala are much better good for you. Obviously a lot of people would agreed with you. I just do not see it. Everything I have seen so far is not genuine and what people want to hear. I would also suggest Some people get therapy because the obsession with Trump is alarming. Move on and deliver is the only thing I can say to Dems.

ArtichokeAardvark · 11/11/2020 07:24

Oh silly OP, you've made the mistake of suggesting that Biden might be anything less than salvation personified...

I'm very glad I'm not an American. I wouldn't have known which way to vote, neither option was great.

That said, foreign policy was one way in which Trump actually was strong. Not for the right reasons though. He was such a loose cannon that when he threatened to demonstrate the power of the US, North Korea sat up and listened because there was a very real danger he might actually go through with it.

Parker231 · 11/11/2020 07:26

Trump and foreign policy was a scary combination as he’d no experience and doesn’t listen to others who don’t agree with him.
