To ask you where to get the best brownies online - to send to student children amongst others?

Yup, I know they are ridiculously expensive - like £20 for a box - but I realise I'm ready to pay this to send a nice treat during lockdown weeks when we can't see DC. Evenings drawing in, not able to go to the pub... a box of brownies to share with the rest of her house sounds just the business!

I'm keen to find a family business or artisanal outfit rather than something mass produced. And yes, want them to be super delicious!

Whose have you tried? Which did they like?

Gower Cottage brownies are excellent and very good value, but nothing, and I mean NOTHING beats Victoria Yum brownies.

She only reopened this past Thursday (after moving from Hackney Wick to Colchester). The queue at her Hackney Wick shop on her last day there was over 2 hours long (I know because I was in the queue!). Because that's how good her cake is!

I sent 'brownies by finch' to my student, as they were one of a few sellers who could send a nut free box of brownies. They looked amazing and he said they tasted great.

I just sent a cake card to DS1 at uni via the Sponge Cake Co.

Looks lovely and they do carrot cake which he particularly likes, so am hoping he'll love it.

Meg Rivers bakery is my go to for cake by post. I'm pretty sure they do a student hamper too.

FiveGoMadInDorset · 08/11/2020 21:19

Bayside Bakery, they are the only ones we eat. The hazelnut ones are my favourite

Hetty’s Brownies. The salted caramel are absolutely amazing and they do a monthly mixed box if you want to send a selection

www.nombakes.co.uk/contact this company are really local to me but do quite a lot of food market/festival type events across the region and they deliver nationally. Their brownies and blondies are AMAZING.

Bluebasil much denser than some, so not if you prefer the cakier type.

Evenstar · 09/11/2020 09:11

www.sponge.co.uk/ have just started doing brownies and they are very nice or Blue Basil for a pricier option

I sent my SIL a box of assorted cakes from Blackfriars Bakery when the first lockdown started-they were very much appreciated.www.blackfriarsbakery.co.uk/

AfterSchoolWorry · 09/11/2020 09:51

How times have changed. In my day the only brownies students were interested in were space cakes! 😝
