-You earn over 30k
-you can wear whatever you want -as in you don't HAVE to dress smart! So you could wear jeans if you wasn't.

  • it's a quiet environment
  • you get a lunchbreak
-days only (no shift) -you are not sitting all day but not on your feet either...so a good balance

Thanks in advance...

I'm a lawyer.

JaceLancs · 08/11/2020 18:20

Senior management of a charity
I do insist on smart casual no jeans or trainers though

DressesWithPockets · 08/11/2020 18:39

How quiet do you need your quiet working environment to be?

DressesWithPockets · 08/11/2020 18:40

University administration - but pick a non-student-facing role for a quieter working environment.

imamearcat · 08/11/2020 18:47

Business analyst although do spend quite a lot of time sitting

Nestlyn · 08/11/2020 18:52

Chartered surveyor, plus also get a car. Appointments in the morning, get back to my home office midday and then complete all my reports. It's also very flexible in that I can do both morning and afternoon school pickups.

W33XXX · 08/11/2020 18:56

Previous job a building surveyor, smart casual own choice. Retrained as a secondary school teacher same dress code. Wear skinny jeans and nice top or smock dresses and tights

Jelly0naplate · 08/11/2020 18:58

Project and facilities Manager - I get to be out and about looking at different project, reviewing issues, sometimes working on building sites (have to wear ppe for those times), meeting people but I can always just close my office door and work quietly when I want/need to.

springdale1 · 08/11/2020 19:07

Estate Manager/Rural Surveyor - managing country estates for wealthy families although I did occasionally take calls on the weekend in emergencies such as a big water leak. Comes with free accommodation and bills paid too.

cliffdiver · 08/11/2020 19:10

@Nellle

I meet all but one of your requirements, so you might not be interested but... I'm a teacher.

Guess which requirement I don't meet?! 😂

Snap

Primary, far from a quiet environment!

halfthesun · 08/11/2020 19:13

Teacher, rarely sit down. Sixth form - perfect behaviour. Subject - Economics 🤓

Scarlettpixie · 08/11/2020 19:22

I am a lawyer in local government. I fit the criteria with the exception of to much sitting. That said there is the opportunity for site visits, meeting etc and we are encouraged to keep moving for well-being so we have a certain amount of movement. I am currently working from home s on that has decreased but I try to move and stretch every hour or so and take regular breaks. We work flexible hours.

WishingHopingThinkingPraying · 08/11/2020 19:27

I have all that but I do sit all day. Salar us more than double your criteria. However we can easily take a break to go running or for a nice long walk. Software project manager (work with developers).

olderthanyouthink · 08/11/2020 19:30

Developer/coder/programmer.

Kinda a lot of sitting tho, could get a standing desk...

nonevernotever · 08/11/2020 19:53

Civil servant here, and I'm at the scruffy end of the casual spectrum, unless I'm meeting ministers or external stakeholders that day. (and currently wfh, so can even wear jeans to those meetings too). Only thing I don't tick on your list is not sitting down all day, though we can have movable desks so that you can use them as a standing desk for parts of the day.

sbhydrogen · 08/11/2020 19:56

Software engineer 👌

sbhydrogen · 08/11/2020 19:57

I once used a desk that had a treadmill attached! 😂

BurningRose · 08/11/2020 19:58

Senior university lecturer.

Lobsterquadrille2 · 08/11/2020 19:59

Accountant/finance manager. Since working from home I sit down a lot though.

kittlesticks · 08/11/2020 20:00

Manager at a charity.

SomewhereInbetween1 · 08/11/2020 20:06

Marketing Manager for a national park

SquishySquirmy · 08/11/2020 20:09

Engineer.
Couldn't wear absolutely anything in my workplace - it was vaguely business attire, but very very relaxed business attire. So comfy trousers, flat shoes and a jumper were fine.
Jeans and trainers ok on Fridays.

ItWasntMyFault · 08/11/2020 20:15

Housing Officer.

Sitting at a desk the vast majority of the time at the moment due to the pandemic but usually 50/50 office and visits.
Can wear jeans etc as long as they are smart ones - unless I'm in court when I'm expected to dress smart.

ShopTattsyrup · 08/11/2020 20:40

Not me, but my other half is a camera man (not currently earning 30k but in the vicinity of and he's at the bottom of the pay scale at the moment).

Family friend is an academic translator and a freelance normal translator, does the odd "on call" night or weekend shift as a phone translator for the NHS but that is out of choice and ad-hoc for when she wants some extra cash.
