YABU because, Yes Daddy is a catch phrase or something that I’ve missed? And not at all offensive.

YANBU
To complain to amazon to get rid of the whole yes daddy range.

I’m trying to understand why someone would make or wear these.

Why?
Because they can.
Doesn’t mean it’s ok though.

SingleHandSue · 07/11/2020 12:59

If you don't like them don't buy them 🤷🏻‍♀️

aijaine · 07/11/2020 13:00

Lol I would

nimbose · 07/11/2020 13:04

It’s an American thing, isn’t it? V common to call your husband, etc Daddy.

My ex wanted me to call him it but it just sounded ridiculous in an English accent Grin

DifficultPifcultLemonDifficult · 07/11/2020 13:04

Complain and expect them to get rid of a whole range of stuff that some people enjoy and buy because..... why?

It's not my thing, but it certainly isn't bloody offensive.

Just don't search it up or buy it Confused

AuntyPonsonby · 07/11/2020 13:05

YABU (and a curtain-twitching busybody).

emilyfrost · 07/11/2020 13:07

YABU. What exactly is the problem here?

ThistleWitch · 07/11/2020 13:11

Sexy pants with daddy on them?? And no one thinks its grim?

NiceGerbil · 07/11/2020 13:14

On threads like these people usually say that calling your sexual partner daddy is normal and standard and not weird at all and totally unrelated to the word daddy for your dad.

Even though it's literally the same word.

Yes of course it's grim.

Lockheart · 07/11/2020 13:16

@ThistleWitch

It's not to my taste (although I would contest that those big grey pants are sexy) but no, I don't think it's grim.

'Baby' is commonly used in a sexual context and I don't think that's grim either.

AuntyPonsonby · 07/11/2020 13:16

And no one thinks its grim?

I'm more concerned about people who think it's OK to tell other people what underwear they can wear Hmm

You could say the same thing about 'baby' which very much is mainstream and has been for decades.
MadDoggoLady · 07/11/2020 13:17

Did anyone watch Olivia meets her match last week? GrinGrinGrin

canigooutyet · 07/11/2020 13:19

Op please do, give them something to laugh about whilst managing to act professional.

LifesNotEnidBlyton · 07/11/2020 13:20

It's just something some people like. Not much different to a woman calling her partner baby.

Pogmella · 07/11/2020 13:22

DH and I are expecting our first baby and I keep calling him ‘Daddy’ in a simpering American drawl, he really hates it! ‘Come and feel him kick... Daddy

ItsAlwaysSunnyOnMN · 07/11/2020 13:22

It’s weird for many of us

But not did others little mama/papa is quite common

The daddy thing isn’t about incest (for most) its about sexual power play

QuestionableMouse · 07/11/2020 13:23

Surely it links back to sugar daddy?

There's real abuse going on in this world. Fight that rather than taking potshots at a stuff like this!

canigooutyet · 07/11/2020 13:24

They could also be aimed at the fetish market, just like other products on Amazon.

They aren't to your taste. Ok move on. Why effect someone else's income because you wouldn't personally wear them? Clearly other people do buy them otherwise there wouldn't be a market.

BubblyBarbara · 07/11/2020 13:24

My husband died a few years ago but I used to call him daddy as a pet name, it’s no different to calling someone hun or babe

EatDessertFirst · 07/11/2020 13:25

Each to their own. Not my cup of tea though.

If it offends you that much, maybe don't search for it or just move along if it comes up? Doesn't seem like a difficult thing to do to me? Definately not worth getting all frothy over. Haven't you got other things to worry about?

Divebar · 07/11/2020 13:29

The use of Daddy in sex play is definitely a “thing” and definitely not that uncommon. Just because it’s not your thing doesn’t mean it has to instantly be grim.
