YABU because, Yes Daddy is a catch phrase or something that I’ve missed? And not at all offensive.

YANBU
To complain to amazon to get rid of the whole yes daddy range.

I’m trying to understand why someone would make or wear these.

Some couples might like the female to say fuck me daddy while being all submissive but it's pretty icky to me.

You can do sub Dom without referencing incest.

AuntyPonsonby · 07/11/2020 18:01

Just like some people like double ended dildos

😱
The granny-knickered pearl-clutching ladies of Mumsnet don't even understand this sentence!

Italiangreyhound · 07/11/2020 18:03

It is OK to have an opinion and it is OK to express that to people running a business. Especially if you buy other stuff from them and you want them to know your opinion (but even if you do not use their business).

converseandjeans yes men are getting away with murder on the basis that women like rough sex.

Italiangreyhound · 07/11/2020 18:04

Are you pearl-clutching shaming there!

honeyytoast · 07/11/2020 18:07

It’s an extremely common thing, I’m struggling to see why you’re offended

I might buy them actually

picklemewalnuts · 07/11/2020 18:07

I don't think wearing them is awful, and I'm not going to judge other people for it.

I think selling them in mainstream shops is problematic because it normalises it.

AuntyPonsonby · 07/11/2020 18:15

@Italiangreyhound

Are you pearl-clutching shaming there!
Well they should stop grim shaming Grin
Italiangreyhound · 07/11/2020 18:20

AuntyPonsonby the good news is I don't think you need to stop pearl-clutching shaming so I don't need to stop grim-shaming. (I also don't think 'grim' is over used!)

NiceGerbil · 07/11/2020 18:21

The idea that, in this case women who find referencing 'daddy' during sex, or the strangle thing, don't like sex is really weird.

It used to be the thing men and boys said when trying to get girls/ women to do xyz in bed. Now women say it to each other :/

Italiangreyhound · 07/11/2020 18:24

NiceGerbil I might have missed the post but who said that "women who find referencing 'daddy' during sex, or the strangle thing, don't like sex is really weird."?

CluelessWriter · 07/11/2020 18:27

@NiceGerbil

This.

But it's not an unusual thing by any means and is other people's underwear really worth getting your own knickers in a twist about?

AuntyPonsonby · 07/11/2020 18:27

@Italiangreyhound agreed!

(And I'm definitely grim if I've understood it properly Confused)

Italiangreyhound · 07/11/2020 18:32

AuntyPonsonby I'm or it's - not that I am judging you - although I do reserve the right to do so! Wink

Nicegerbil Even if women on an anonymous forum say things about their own beliefs about other women's sex lives; they are not doing what men and boys are doing? Not when men or boys say something 'when trying to get girls/ women to do xyz in bed'.

The first is sharing opinions on an anonymous forum. The second is coercing or pressuring women or girls into a sexual activity they don't necessarily want.

I think they are really quite different.

AuntyPonsonby · 07/11/2020 18:35

@Italiangreyhound
I'm grim and proud!

Italiangreyhound · 07/11/2020 18:39

That's 'good' for you. But the discussion is about a public website, so your own personal grimness is not of significance here! Thanks

Italiangreyhound · 07/11/2020 18:40

Must go back dinner...

Moo678 · 07/11/2020 18:46

Daddy kink is really big at the moment. It doesn’t mean you want to shag your father. Personally, it’s not my thing but I’m not going to kink shame - people can like what they like in the privacy of their own underwear drawer.

NiceGerbil · 07/11/2020 18:48

Loads of people have said that daddy as a sex thing is totally normal and unremarkable! It's come from USA I think. Fan fic has been full of it for years, I find it, creepy is probably the best word.

One of the pics when op googled yes, daddy was hands round throat. That's pretty normalised as will there's been loads of threads with women saying it's pretty mainstream some like it don't judge etc etc

And certainly calling women and girls prudes/ frigid for blanching at certain things to do with sex has been a standard for boys and men for decades at least, now women have joined in which makes me feel a bit sad.

Murphs1 · 07/11/2020 19:00

I also think they’re grim.

ItsAlwaysSunnyOnMN · 07/11/2020 19:05

It’s not necessarily an American thing

It’s common in Latin America to say little mama/papa slang for a someone you find attractive

Personally found it a strange at first but never thought my ex is having sexual thoughts about his mum

ItsAlwaysSunnyOnMN · 07/11/2020 19:05

And he is slightly older so I wasn’t a mummy figure

NiceGerbil · 07/11/2020 19:21

Daddy in a sex context is about wanting to please an authority figure who can tell you what to do and may punish you, surely?

Which in itself is aok but calling the authority person in that dynamic daddy just adds massive ick.

Two victims of incest on the thread have said they find this trend upsetting and unsettling have not been engaged with from those who say it's harmless, I don't think?

Incest porn is a really popular category as well.

Yeah I'm ok with feeling it's all a bit grim.

laudemio · 07/11/2020 19:35

Yuck! And the choking too. No 👎

eaglejulesk · 07/11/2020 19:37

I'm more concerned about people who think it's OK to tell other people what underwear they can wear

Yep - this.

Italiangreyhound · 07/11/2020 19:55

Luckily, no one on here has the power to make one wear or not wear a certain type of under wear. So frankly if that is people's main concern you are worrying about nothing.
