If I were Biden, I'd wait before making a President-Elect type of address - the blessed fat lady still hasn't sung yet!

BoreOfWhabylon · 07/11/2020 01:22

Can't stay up any longer. Night all Smile

LadyWithLapdog · 07/11/2020 01:29

Night night

StartupRepair · 07/11/2020 01:31

Biden has an arena set up with fireworks but not clear if they will use it tonight.

Although it would be amusing the see the whiny baby explode.

Nancydrawn · 07/11/2020 01:51

The new votes come out from Arizona soon. I wonder if he'll speak if they call it.

Nancydrawn · 07/11/2020 01:53

It might go for Trump, tbf.

I’ve been sorting out stuff for shielding family member today, so have totally lost track as to where I was up to on the previous thread - so apologies if this has been covered and I know I’m referring to old news.

Just can’t stop thinking about Trump’s address last night. Normally, when he’s “off on one” he really does just ramble on about complete shut, random words, stumbling, repeating etc etc.

It was obvious (as others pointed out last time I looked at this thread this morning) that he was CONSTANTLY referring to notes, which he may have done before, but I’ve never clocked it.

I honestly can’t imagine him having written the notes himself. He is normally so “off-piste” with his ramblings. I don’t normally go down the “conspiracy “ routes, but I am now slightly wondering ...

Given that there can be back-stabbing etc in politics, is it even slightly feasible that there was some kind of background agreement in the Republican Party to write a speech for him that would a) appeal to what he wanted to hear/say and b) could then give them a kind of “out” like “look how nuts he’s become”? I mean, he could claim “Bob from the mailroom wrote this for me” etc, but that would then be admitting that he gave a speech about “bigly” important matters without knowing what he was talking about etc.

I think there is a small possibility he was led into this - definitely not because I like or support him, I want him out of power ASAP. Just musing on if there was a coordinated effort to push him in one direction to then give other republicans a bit of free rein to start speaking out.against him (though not enough have, so probably kind of blows my dream!)

Is that about Trump's moving the predicted path of a hurricane?
BruceAndNosh · 07/11/2020 02:03

Ironic considering that Trump has always been so obsessed with TV ratings that the "hottest" show at the moment is a load of suits with charts and maps, microanalysing his demise

Destinysdaughter · 07/11/2020 02:09

Really want to stay up to see this through but need sleep! Will see what tomorrow brings....

They're dragging their heels as they know whichever state declares a result gets their windows kicked in.
"You're It, Arizona!"
"No, YOU'RE it, Georgia!"

Madness that that will get into court even though it's been explained
Blueberries0112 · 07/11/2020 02:12

@Jaichangecentfoisdenom

Compare this with the respectful handover letters written by previous departing presidents to their successor.
I actually think he would mention fake in his letter
BruceAndNosh · 07/11/2020 02:19

Don Jr was ranting on Twitter a day or so ago about a video proporting to be of a Michigan postal worker saying he had been told (on 4th)to backdate ballots with postmark of 3rd November so they would be included in the count when they arrived. Then someone pointed out that postal ballots had to ARRIVE by the 3rd to be valid in Michigan.
So now "exactly" the same thing is being claimed happened in Pennsylvania where correctly postmarked ballots CAN arrive later...

lovelemoncurd · 07/11/2020 02:22

Found it. Sorry just placemarking.

borntobequiet · 07/11/2020 02:26

CNN reporting that Trump “frustrated” with Kushner for screwing up with the legal team, which he had assured the Pres. was sorted.

Jaichangecentfoisdenom · 07/11/2020 02:30

That still looks quite tight to me, but then, I'm rubbish with figures.

The question is who is writing his "notes"?

That he's referring to notes isn't an issue.

There's confusing messages coming from inside the WH as to who is exerting any influence over Trump.

I'd bet good money that it isn't anyone in the Republican Party though.

Don't be confused. Just because Trump won on a republican ticket doesn't mean he's part of the party.

I strongly suspect the narrative is controlled by Trump himself and those very close to him - especially those who've been noticeably absent on TV and Twitter compared to the "foot soldiers" like Don jr and Eric....

If anyone is going to run from the Trump family in 4 years I don't think it will be Donald...rather the offspring that's keeping their hands clean atm...

www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-election-2020/trump-campaign-lawsuit-us-election-2020-b1655433.html

'One tells “Patriots” this is their “FINAL NOTICE” to help the campaign defend the election from Democrats, who they claim without evidence are rigging results.

Even though the election season is over, both sides have ramped up calls for funding as they prepare to pay for legal bills in the Trump campaign’s numerous, thus far unsuccessful lawsuits challenging election results around the country.'

Did you see the photo of the notes?

Not only was it word-for-word scripted, but even the words to emphasise were in capitals and it was all in massive print!
