Yes!
DD told me I had to watch it for some light relief this week! Oh my golly good god... what a dig at Trump, Melania, Pence and all. Just hilarious!
I watched in hysterical horror at the long dress Southern Ball coming out thing... just hilarious!

HoldingTight · 07/11/2020 08:41

@anon444877

Has anyone seen the new Borat film? I was reluctant as didn't find the first that funny but oh my goodness, hilarious (if you generally find Cohen funny)
My son keeps telling me to watch it but I've resisted up to now.
BoreOfWhabylon · 07/11/2020 08:42

I am convinced that the orange bawbag was persuaded to make his "speech" after Biden's first one and told he must try to appear statesmanlike. Hence his downbeat, monotone delivery and reliance on notes.

Wondering if his handlers will now try to wheel him out again?

I also think there will be a huge number of new COVID cases over the next couple of weeks in the wake of Trump's rallies and rabble rousing.

Biden now more than 7,000 ahead in Georgia Smile

Roussette · 07/11/2020 08:44

This is so so lovely. I'd seen it before, but just so apt now. Kamala Harris with some children.

If trump steps down as president then Mike Pence will take over and get the presidential pardon ability trump would have had.

For Federal crimes. And if GOP supports it.
I don't think GOP like Trump at all. They may well be aiming to neutralise him politically ASAP.

I saw Biden's speech last night (early hours) but not Trumps, does anyone have a link to it?
MarshaBradyo · 07/11/2020 08:47

I cannot wait for everyone to celebrate when it’s announced

Lweji · 07/11/2020 08:49

Trump's not gone yet whatever the result.*
Post election purge has begun

He can't fire Fauci anyway. Or he would have by now.

But even if Fauci was sacked I bet he'd be integrated in the new Administration. And he might get the invitation anyway.

Deutsche Bank may well pull the plug on his debts to them of $340m if he loses

truthout.org/articles/deutsche-bank-may-seize-trumps-assets-if-he-loses-and-fails-to-repay-debt/?

The Deutsche Bank loans are just a fraction of Trump’s overall debt. The New York Times, which obtained years of Trump’s personal and business tax returns, reported that his company is on the hook for $421 million in loans that were personally guaranteed. A Forbes analysis found that Trump’s company has more than $1 billion in debt.

Trump has argued that his debt is dwarfed by the size of his personal wealth, but he has been unable or unwilling to pay back his full debt to Deutsche Bank and other lenders in the past. He also defaulted on bonds the bank helped sell to investors to finance his failed Atlantic City casinos.

Lweji · 07/11/2020 08:52

I think Biden would do well to call a reasonable Republican (if they still exist) to his cabinet, as a gesture of reconciliation.

GetTheDoorFrank · 07/11/2020 08:54

Joining in for THE thread that trumpy is officially beaten

Roussette · 07/11/2020 08:55

Lweji Apparently Obama did that with a few. It appears to be some sort of protocol
Trump obviously did not call in a Democrat.

lionheart · 07/11/2020 08:55

This is really interesting.

nymag.com/intelligencer/2020/11/donald-trump-presidency-election-week.html

'"Donald Trump going out with a limp seems like an oxymoron,” a senior adviser to the president told me. In width and in word, in soaring skyscrapers and Brioni suits and arena rallies and various euphemisms for great (yuge, bigly), the man has been defined by and obsessed with largeness. His presidency is ending small.'

@HoldingTight @Roussette dh insisted - I really didn't find the first one amusing and thought it would be a film appealing to hard core dems only because he got Rudy (and I do like Cohen stuff generally) but the princess melania as sleeping beauty - OMG that man is amazing. So much brilliance.

And the debutante ball! Hand in mouth levels of squirming.

anon444877 · 07/11/2020 09:04

My elder dd loves the way melania dresses - I had to hide photos of her for a while as dd got interested in buying all white jackets etc (she was 7!) so it was so spot on.

LadyWithLapdog · 07/11/2020 09:10

Tucker Carlson is reframing the trumpers as liberals? He’s deranged.

HoneysuckIejasmine · 07/11/2020 09:18

Carlson is deranged.

lionheart · 07/11/2020 09:18

I read something about Tucker's potential as presidential candidate. Maybe the disappointed Trumpers will gravitate to him.

Ainsley Hayes is very cool. Love her first disastrous meeting with the President. Lord knows what the Trump West Wing looked like on a day to day basis.

That's the one I was thinking of. Grin

But for Biden, I'd go more senior. No desks in basements.

I prefer the Scooby Doo version!

BruceAndNosh · 07/11/2020 09:22

There's already mutterings of Tucker Carlson in 2024.

Is the ideal Republican candidate a nut job with weird hair? Tucker looks like a Lego figure
