What's your claim to fame? *lighthearted*

Inspired by an article I've just read online whilst waiting for my train, AIBU to ask...what is your claim to fame? The weaker the claim the funnier, such as "I dated Margaret Thatcher's cousins drama tutor" e.g. But any will do.

I'll go first. I served Gary Cahill (footballer) once as a waitress; he came into the budget restaurant I worked at...and didn't even foot the bill!

A bit of a silly post I know, but the article I read had me giggling. If this post makes at least one person giggle that would be great Grin - I think we're all in need of a laugh right now!

My school friends mum used to babysit Kate Winslet as a teen. (The Mum not Kate)

I was born in the same hospital as Kate Middleton, and share a name with her DD (therefore you should all curtsey to me)

I was an extra in Soldier Soldier. You don't see me Grin

Bouledeneige · 03/11/2020 18:42

My DDs English teacher is a zombie in Sean of the Dead.

I was also asked out by Rob Newman and Eddie Izzard. Not at the same time.

Laurence Llewellyn Bowen (of Changing Rooms fame) visited the coffee shop I managed for a couple of weeks on the trot. I never once saw him or served him but my team told me after each occasion.

Lincslady53 · 03/11/2020 18:48

My history teacher, a long time ago, was the brother of author William Golding (Lord of the Flies). I failed history O level.

Came top in Chris Evans "tedious link" phone in about 10 years ago. Because I used to sponsor the same rescue Donkey as Paul O'Grady. It was called Daniel O'Donkey.

I had the first ever plastic baby bib off the production line in the UK due to my Dad's job. The one where there's a bowl bit you can squish & mix all the food that's too interesting to eat. I feel old now!

StealthPolarBear · 03/11/2020 18:49

I've had my photo taken with Jimmy savile
My mum has since assured me they never left me alone with him

EggysMom · 03/11/2020 18:50

My pregnant belly was scanned for a television show.

My DH danced on the "Hit Man and Her" music show of the late 80s.

tainot · 03/11/2020 18:50

Lincslady53 · 03/11/2020 18:51

Oh, in my first job for Sainsburys, in Golders Green, I got into an argument with actor Anthony Booth, who wanted to buy some fags 10 minutes after the shop had closed. (He did this virtually every Saturday.) His daughter was Cherie Blair.

Whatisthisfuckery · 03/11/2020 18:51
