Lots of us struggling with dc atm. Me included!! Today I am off work and promised ds we would make use of the Disney plus I paid for ages ago!!
Dd15 offered to make lunch..
So I am sat watching Beauty and the Beast eating left over pie and a jacket potato!
What has your dc done to restore your faith in them lately?
Ds 19 has just come and given me a huge tight hug so my day is going swimmingly!!

My 2 haven't argued for a while. Doesn't get better than that TBH

Findahouse21 · 27/10/2020 16:11

Dd(6) made me a treasure map through the house, and at the end was a heart which she had coloured and labelled as my 'best mummy award

SummerHouse · 27/10/2020 16:18

My 10 yr old has waited way beyond his birthday for some Japanese Pokémon cards. They arrived and he gave three packs to his brother.

alittleprivacy · 27/10/2020 16:25

Every time he sees me today, DS7 sings a song about how much he loves me.

Winter2020 · 27/10/2020 16:36

My (just turned) 11 year old said "thank you for giving me such a great birthday" sincerely to me and his dad. We went out for the day to an attraction and saw family outside but no friends of his or party/no cake (as we were outside/eating out). He did have lots of sweets and some money. I thought it was very sweet. I think the fact we have been doing so little made him appreciate it more.

Coolcatsandkittens · 27/10/2020 16:41

I found a note that DS(7) had written at school and left in his bag for me to find - “thank you for being my mum”. I cried.

ScrapThatThen · 27/10/2020 16:42

My two are studying furiously, even have alarms set to get an early start.

unmarkedbythat · 27/10/2020 16:44

DS3 made me a bracelet out of paper he has drawn flowers on and I have brought it to work so when I am at the point of wanting to lie my head down on the desk and cry I can look at it instead :)

DS2 made me a cheese and cucumber sandwich last night.

DS1, um, hasn't been in trouble with the police for ages? Grin

DS ,14 years has done his Chemistry homework,ñ set by his tutor, this morning without complaint, watched Secret Garden together this afternoon on Sky Cinema and he is going swimming tonight. Meeting up with one of his school friends tomorrow for ice skating and hot chocolate and then has his Science tutor in evening.

DS who has recently set up a sports related news and fanzone Insta & managed to amass almost 200 followers in just over 3 weeks has offered to revamp & reboot my reviews based Insta I've had for just over 18 months and reached the heady heights of 16 followers! Grin

Snaketime · 27/10/2020 16:54

Had a pretty crappy day and my DS3 and my DD6 did me a picture each to cheer me up.

MonicaBelulaGellar · 27/10/2020 16:55

My DD3 randomly told me she loves me. So heart warming

LuckyAmy1986 · 27/10/2020 16:55

Awww love these Smile

LuckyAmy1986 · 27/10/2020 16:57

My DS is very generous and if he has a nice cake or biscuit etc he always offers it to me first!

Sunnydaysstillhere · 27/10/2020 16:58

My ddogs are enjoying having me home also. Dhusky has decided actually she is a chihuahua and is asleep on my legs....
Got caught by ds 19 resting me eyes earlier. Told him 49 is quite an acceptable age to have a granny nap!

Had a lovely lunch with DS(15) and he carried the shopping home.

TheSweetestHalleluja · 27/10/2020 17:13

Bought my DD one of those magic painting books where you just use water. She sat and painted the whole book and told me on every page how much she was enjoying it which has somewhat made up for the constant bickering with her brother the rest of the day Grin

TheGoogleMum · 27/10/2020 17:18

Not sure if this counts as DD is nearly 2 so a bit young! She always gives me lots of cuddles and kisses unprompted and is just a massive sweetie (until she doesn't get her own way)

sunshineandshowers21 · 27/10/2020 17:18

me and my partner are recovering from covid, feeling awful and exhausted - but still have four kids to look after. this morning our 13 year old got up with the three youngest (6, 2, 5 months) and made them breakfast, fed and changed the baby, and then put a film on for them all whilst me and partner had a lie in. we woke up at almost dinner time and couldn’t believe he’d managed to keep them quiet and entertained for that long. he’d even put the washing on and cleaned the kitchen. he’s been rewarded with some fifa points and a mcdonald’s delivery so he’s buzzing.

Iamaweirdone · 27/10/2020 17:22

DD brings me a cup of tea in bed every morning

That's so thoughtful for a 13 year old!
OfTheNight · 27/10/2020 17:28

Ds said “you are the best mum in the world and you are beautiful!” After I poured him some juice. He’s a right little charmer!!

sunshineandshowers21 · 27/10/2020 17:33

@Thestreets he is really thoughtful. he’s such a good big brother, and the little ones adore him. he obviously wants his space and time to himself now with being a teenager, but he’s always willing to play with his brother and have a cuddle with the babies. he’s been such a help during this awful week and i’m so thankful i’ve got such a caring son.

steppemum · 27/10/2020 17:34

ds is coming up to 18.
His teen years have been ...erm... interesting!

Over the last few weeks I have had several wonderful conversations with him. He has suddenly grown up and is so self aware and reflective. he apologised for being a difficult teen (!)

he also said something whcih really made me laugh. He said when I was 12 what I thought I needed was a laptop in my room over night (and Oh yes, he compaigned for that for months) but now, he said, he realises that what he needed was to be parented. And we did. And now he appreciates it.

MaggieMagpie1 · 27/10/2020 17:35

I don't have DC but went to deliver my Brother's Birthday present last night. My twin niece and nephew came racing out of the house and jumped me for a hug. I grinned most of the night after that.
