If you were living alone and didn’t have anyone regularly sleeping in the same bed as you, would you splash out on a king size bed or do you feel it’s not worth it for one person?

Def go king size or super king.

Gazelda · 25/10/2020 22:06

I'd definitely go king if £ and space allowed.

WidowTwonky · 25/10/2020 22:07

Superking if you have the space

HerBigChance · 25/10/2020 22:07

King, definitely, if you're able to. All that extra room is lovely.

Oilnwater · 25/10/2020 22:07

Super king if you have the space !

DontGoIntoTheLongGrass · 25/10/2020 22:09

Biggest I could get. Got a super king now and dh doesn't always come to bed with me. Totally love to starfish when he's not here Grin

WitsEnding · 25/10/2020 22:10

Prefer a double, king size duvet though!

billy1966 · 25/10/2020 22:10

Superking, nothing like doing starfish in the bed on your own.

londongirl12 · 25/10/2020 22:10

Bigger the better!!!

cardibach · 25/10/2020 22:11

Definitely king. I have a king and to me it feels like the right size for one and I don’t understand how couples manage. I have a fab handmade bed, but if I was getting new and space permitted I’d have a super king!

Scarlettpixie · 25/10/2020 22:13

I have a superking to myself but it isn’t necessarily and changing the bedding is a pita. I would definitely go for king over double though.

MJMG2015 · 25/10/2020 22:14

@billy1966

Superking, nothing like doing starfish in the bed on your own.
How tall are you??

I can starfish easily in a double! An advantage of being not quite 5ft I suppose! 🤣

I'd get a king if I had a huge room, but just a double if it would fill the room up too much.

UselessInDisguise · 25/10/2020 22:14

Yup, King. No brainer. Don't buy something you might want to upgrade later, get it right the first time. Enjoy. I am off to bed shared with three... No nothing frisky, just a snoring partner and a baby that sleeps fecking sideways. I will have my bum hanging off the edge of the bed for atleast 95% of the night...

QueenOllie · 25/10/2020 22:14

King! I have a super king for myself

DramaAlpaca · 25/10/2020 22:15

The biggest bed I could fit into the room.

Iamthewombat · 25/10/2020 22:15

Get king size. Double doesn’t allow enough spreading out and superking is a nightmare for bedding. Nowhere near as much choice as for a king size bed.

nicebreeze · 25/10/2020 22:15

If you were living alone and didn’t have anyone regularly sleeping in the same bed as you*

I am so, unbelievably jealous of you, OP

LastInTheQueue · 25/10/2020 22:17

The biggest possible bed. I have a super king and even though it meant moving the wardrobe to another room, I have no regrets!

MarriedtoDaveGrohl · 25/10/2020 22:18

If it doesn't swamp the room and you can fit bedside cabinets in etc king. Or even euro king (extra 10cm wide) as fitted sheets are easy to get and you just use super king duvets. But not double. That's just too small

MachineBee · 25/10/2020 22:19

Double with kin size duvet. But I like the space in the bedroom and hate squeezing past furniture.

Othering · 25/10/2020 22:21

Totally agree with the biggest you can manage. I have a superking and its blissful, either with or without partner in it.

IndieTara · 25/10/2020 22:22

I upgraded from a double to a king : weeks ago. Loving the extra room and I'm single

TheDowagerDuchessofMwwwahaha · 25/10/2020 22:25

I sleep alone in a super king size! I’m only 5’6” too 😀

It was a bit of a happenstance after divorce that I got the big bed, because it had the best mattress and I have a bad back. Exh got the smaller spare bed.

It’s quite good on the occasions when ds gets into bed with me as I don’t notice him get in.

IAintentDead · 25/10/2020 22:26

I live alone and at 65 am unlikely to share in the future

I bought a new kingsize last year. I considered both a standard double and a superking (bedroom could take a superking) and decided that King was best option. Plenty of room, king size bedding similar in price to double and 'who knows'. Superking puts bedding price up which king doesn't these days as it is pretty standard. And if I ever do want to share for the occasional night it is doable, whereas a standard double would be very uncomfortable

narcdad45 · 25/10/2020 22:28

King all the way, I had a super king but had to change back to the standard king as changing the duvet was such a fucking nightmare 🤣
