I've massively bloated out due to a treatment plan I'm on and feel hugely uncomfortable. I have an event in 12 days and I know I'd feel better if I was a bit lighter.

AIBU to try to
Drop 4kg's?
Plan is no booze
1200-1500 calories a day
Daily (sometimes double) HIIT workouts (400/500 calories a workout)
Tonnes of water
No sugar or shit

Is this possible or am I setting myself up for another thing to feel shit about.
HELP!

You could possibly do this with a keto diet as you will lose a lot of water weight but it won't be a long term solution.
I am also unsure if it would be compatible with a treatment plan as I get the impression it is this plan which is causing the bloat?

MootingMirror · 21/10/2020 23:11

No chance. The ONLY way to lose that much weight in that time frame is to dehydrate yourself.

Porcupineinwaiting · 21/10/2020 23:12

No that's silly. Sorry.

Smallsteps88 · 21/10/2020 23:13

Sounds utterly horrendous. And dangerous tbh.

Is being 4kg lighter for this event really very important? Couldn’t you aim for healthy weight loss over a more gradual time frame?

Dawnlassie · 21/10/2020 23:14

No dont even attempt this.

MootingMirror · 21/10/2020 23:14

If you were burning fat that fast then your ketones would be too high and you'd cause something called ketoacidosis, which is very dangerous. Otherwise you'd be losing water or muscle - which is dumb and won't make you look or feel better.

GhoulWithADragonTattoo · 21/10/2020 23:15

You might lose 1kg but not 4.

Somethingkindaoooo · 21/10/2020 23:15

Just get something nice to wear and be happy
🙂

Mammyloveswine · 21/10/2020 23:16

Follow the fast 800.

Somewhereelsewhere · 21/10/2020 23:19

I don’t think the plan is too restrictive. I think, depending on your metabolism, you could go for 2-3kg.
I think 4kg is expecting a bit much. But it’s all the added on things like the improved skin and confidence that will make the difference

HeyBlaby · 21/10/2020 23:21

500 cals per work out? Unlikely.

Oneoffnamevsaddo · 21/10/2020 23:36

I lost ten pounds in my first week with my eating plan, loads of water, no booze, breakfast - 3 eggs, bit of butter, some spinach leaves, microwaved - lunch was a berry smoothie, - 200g Greek yogurt, 100ml milk, handful of spinach leaves, handful of berries. And a dinner, cut down on potatoes and pasta, but a good portion, and walked for an hour a night. Not speed walking. And I am really over weight so I’ve lost 25lbs in 10 weeks doing this, but still got 4 stone to go :)

WillYouDoTheFandango · 21/10/2020 23:43

I lost 3.9kg last fortnight on my first two weeks doing strict keto. Lots is water but I look much less bloated and much slimmer.

zoemum2006 · 21/10/2020 23:56

It depends how heavy you currently are and what you’ve been eating. If you have lots to lose or a particularly unhealthy diet you might be able to shed quite a bit of weight with a sudden change but it won’t necessarily be a lot of fat. After the initial big loss it normally stabilised to 2 pounds a week. I believe that people get demotivated when they don’t continue with large losses every week.

I’ve always found half a stone a month to be very sustainable. I know that’s not very exciting but you start to feel pretty fantastic quite quickly.

Find something you can do in the long term.

PickAChew · 21/10/2020 23:58

Depends how big you are. If you're massively obese then no problem. Otherwise, most of it would be water.

SpookyTheGhoulfriendScarer · 22/10/2020 00:28

I did a fat fast and lost 12lbs in 3 days. I then went onto keto. I haven't put the weight back on and I'm still losing. I lost another 5lb last week and dropped a size.

Aimfor64 · 22/10/2020 11:22

For context I'm not huge, 8-10. 67kg 5'7 and pretty muscular. But carrying a lots of excess water due to drugs and a couple of Covid kg's. Just don't feel comfortable in my frame right now.

@HeyBlaby
Yes regularly do 500-800 calorie workouts, all HIIT.

DTIsOnlyForNow · 22/10/2020 11:24

No, you can't do that and you're already tiny.

workshy44 · 22/10/2020 11:26

Yes you can do it but no more than 1200 calories and keto- so no carbs
I always do a version of this before a holiday and easily lose that amount in a week and I am pretty thin already

Osirus · 22/10/2020 11:28

Why not?

I can lose 4kg in 14 days just by reducing my portion sizes and cutting down on snacks. No extra exercise.

I thought that was normal?

FizzyGreenWater · 22/10/2020 11:31

Keto, starting with egg fast, especially if the problem is partly bloat.

You might not get to 4kgs but you'll certainly get past two

DTIsOnlyForNow · 22/10/2020 11:32

I thought that was normal?

Its not, and I don't beleive you can.

MozzchopsThirty · 22/10/2020 11:38

Absolutely you can

I've dropped 2kg in 4 days this week, 800 calories per day, IF, exercise, lots of water and lots of sleep

chunkyrun · 22/10/2020 11:40

What's the rush? Sounds like your body needs some tlc. Can you not aim for 1-2lbs a week
