To try to drop 4kg in 12 days ....

Aimfor64 · 21/10/2020 23:05

I've massively bloated out due to a treatment plan I'm on and feel hugely uncomfortable. I have an event in 12 days and I know I'd feel better if I was a bit lighter.

AIBU to try to
Drop 4kg's?
Plan is no booze
1200-1500 calories a day
Daily (sometimes double) HIIT workouts (400/500 calories a workout)
Tonnes of water
No sugar or shit

Is this possible or am I setting myself up for another thing to feel shit about.
HELP!

try to focus on recovering from whatever treatment and feeling better rather and constraining calories, exercising and focusing on artificial targets that don't relate to being healthy. If you think you'd feel better with what you've said then you might focus on changing your way off thinking.

Good luck.

ShowOfHands · 22/10/2020 11:49

I'm not sure if you're having treatments and taking medication, fast weight loss advice on an anonymous forum is appropriate.

workshy44 · 22/10/2020 11:52

DTIsOnlyForNow you absolutely can. I do it every summer before I go away. Also 67KG is not tiny, I am 53KG and the same height and I am definitely not tiny, just slim.

Nottherealslimshady · 22/10/2020 11:56

Probably not. Doesn't sound like theres a lot of fat on you. But if you only do it for 12 days then you cant do much damage. Reduce your salt. Eat veg and protein make sure you stay hydrated. If you feel unwell then stop.

amusedbush · 22/10/2020 12:02

I lost 10lbs in my first week on keto so it can be done. I was bigger than you are now but 4kg in 12 days is doable if you cut out carbs.

Hopeisathingwithfeathers · 22/10/2020 12:02

Not at your size, no.

HeyBlaby · 22/10/2020 12:03

'Yes regularly do 500-800 calorie workouts, all HIIT'

Honestly, unless you are male and morbidly obese you aren't burning this much per workout, don't be going off figures on MFP or fitness watches etc.

MozzchopsThirty · 22/10/2020 12:09

Those saying no OP ........
I'm 5'6 / 5'7
Size 10/12

I started the week at 65kg
Today I am 62.8kg

If I continued with this eating and exercise I could easily get down to 60kg

But it's hard work, and I like a drink lol

zoemum2006 · 22/10/2020 12:13

@workshy44

5ft 7 and 53KG is actually underweight.

OP you have very little to lose. Eat healthy to reduce bloating (lots of vegetables, fruit and water) but you don't need to lose a lot. Give yourself a bit of time.

emmathedilemma · 22/10/2020 12:19

I'm practically the same height and weight as you and the lengths I have to go to just to loose 1kg and maintain energy levels to exercise most days is almost unachievable for me. I have to really cut back carbs and fill up on protein, and even then I find myself still hungry. If you're doing HIIT properly you shouldn't be able to do it twice a day, several days a week. At your highest level of exertion I doubt you'd burn more than 100 calories per 10 minutes so 500-800 calories sounds high to me.

Ponoka7 · 22/10/2020 12:27

@HeyBlaby, you can burn 500 calories, even as a woman in a HIIT workout. My DD is a PT and delivers high burn calorie workouts. My DD can eat 3000 calories a day. More if she's lifting a lot.

OP, as a one off you could do it. Ypu don't want to drop below 800 calories. So work out what calories you are burning and add them onto 800, that's the minimum you should be eating. Drink lots of water and have a stock cube every day. I'm a fan of weights, even as a post menopausal woman, I've sculpted my body.

Laufeythejust · 22/10/2020 12:30

Why would you put your body through that though? Lose weight slowly and steadily, you’ll be miserable and more likely to put it back on if you don’t. Maybe aim for 1kg, get your hair done nice and wear something you feel good in.

HeyBlaby · 22/10/2020 12:45

This is likely to her body composition (more muscle meaning a higher BMR) than her actual HIIT session. Honestly 500-800 cals for an hours of exercise is Hmm and I say this as someone who CrossFits 4 times per week alongside running.

HeyBlaby · 22/10/2020 12:47

And for those advising someone to have an intake of 800 calories per day, whilst knowing nothing about her current weight or health, you need to take a long look at yourselves.

Education on health and nutrition is appalling in this country and it shows.

Whocutdownthecherrytree · 22/10/2020 12:47

Strict keto, no carbs or booze. It’s possible

Porcupineinwaiting · 22/10/2020 12:53

@HeyBlaby well said.

Aimfor64 · 22/10/2020 12:56

Why am I not doing HIIT properly if I can do a morning session, then an afternoon one?

PumpkinetChocolat · 22/10/2020 13:02

You'd be better off working against the bloat than focusing on your weight frankly.

crash diet for 12 days is not going to help you. It is proven that restricted calories diet do work in the long term and don't necessarily mean you'll put back on weight (if nothing else, they work better actually...)
but anything for the very short term is pointless.

Some diet will make you lose a lot, but will disrupt your digestive system and you'll end up lighter but more bloated!

Aimfor64 · 23/10/2020 08:31

Lol ... I'm up a kg. This isn't going to plan ... hahah

OP posts:
allyouneedis · 23/10/2020 08:35

Try the fast 800

pinkbalconyrailing · 23/10/2020 08:36

would you need to stop your treatment plan?
if so, don't.
eat sensibly and exercise, keep hydrated. 1 kilo seems realistic.

fib11235 · 23/10/2020 09:09

39yrs old, 5’6, 68kg - wedding dress fitting 14 days pre wedding, could get get dress done up when standing but unable to sit (Audible noise and look on sales assistant face said enough but pain at top of thigh where it dug in was the final straw).
Google cabbage soup diet, not as bad as it sounds more like veg soup and get additional things to eat on different days eg steak on days 6 & 7.
Used for cardiac patients for rapid weight loss pre surgery. Mainly lose water so benefits not maintained post diet and often put back on more weight than lost but can drop a stone in a week.
I got to 64kg and dress fitted like a glove. I exercised only one per day, would recommend spinning or weights but yes it can be done :-)

fib11235 · 23/10/2020 09:11

...forgot to add was on Oestrogen throughout pre frozen embryo transfer

Minesril · 23/10/2020 09:18

I lost 7.5kg in a week - after having a baby. Is that an option? Grin

MojoMoon · 23/10/2020 09:39

You need to work on your mind, not your body.

It might be possible to lose it but you have a much higher chance of failing to than you do at succeeding.

And the cost of succeeding is high. Crash dieting is not a healthy approach physically or mentally.

Your current weight is healthy. You need to address your mindset and body esteem issues.

You probably will fail - because it is an incredibly hard thing to do - which will make you feel worse about your (perfectly healthy) body and spiral further into disliking it and yourself and wanting to punish yourself further

What is the event? A social event? With people you care about like friends or family? Or work colleagues? No one else will care if you are 4kg lighter. Don't do this to yourself. Find some help to address your thought patterns
