To think its ok to send my ironing out?

Have discovered this fab ironing lady just down the road from me but DH keeps moaning that i'm sending it out all the time. Its just such a relief to bung it in a bag and have it all come back nicely pressed. Am a SAHM so should i be making time to do it myself?

Get your feet up in front of the tele! Have you got a glass of wine?

ScottishMummy · 24/10/2007 20:03

why are some folk getting in such a fankle about whether someone else sends out their own ironing. as i said before if u can afford it ellie - why not

as for "lazy" well seems that we all have vices and whittle time away blethering on MN....so if it is lazy not to iron is it lazy to chat on MN

pot
calling
kettle
black

I would f i could but as i seem to be able to dry things without em needing ironing i don't.You are right your child is more important than ironing!and even if you used some time for you so what.I think being at home is far more knackering than work[prob in a different way]and so does dp.You are not being unreasonable

Elasticwoman · 24/10/2007 20:09

What's a fankle, Scottishmummy? Is it Scottish dialect?

elliemac · 24/10/2007 20:10

Maybe if i did some ironing it would stop me watching shite on the TV! Am right into that Dirty Dancing programme with Jennifer wotsit - Holy shit! Thats sad. Maybe i should unpack the bags!!!

i am frequently in a fankle
"awww naw cannae dae the ironing im in a fankle"

Fankle" - originating from the Gaelic word "fang" for a sheepfold, to fankle someting is to tangle it as in "the wool got fankled and stopped me from knitting".

As a noun, it can also be a state of confusion "Dinna get yourself into a fankle"

Elasticwoman · 24/10/2007 20:18

Thanks, Scotsmummy. Shall remember it for Scrabble.

ScottishMummy · 24/10/2007 20:19

elliemac · 24/10/2007 20:21

Give yourself a pat on the back. I could never have explained fankle!! A fankle is just a fankle

OP posts:

ScottishMummy · 24/10/2007 20:25
