Have discovered this fab ironing lady just down the road from me but DH keeps moaning that i'm sending it out all the time. Its just such a relief to bung it in a bag and have it all come back nicely pressed. Am a SAHM so should i be making time to do it myself?

Ok.....what's a scunner then?

MALO · 24/10/2007 20:35

Hants - down by the sea

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 24/10/2007 20:36

Bree bounds into the room...

ScottishMummy · 24/10/2007 20:39

to be scunnered is totally sick of something/fed up/had enough eg im scunnered wi the ironing

a scunner is a person who makes you feel fed up/pissed off/puts you on a downer

"awwww ironing makes me [[http://www.scottishwords.co.uk/Pages/scunner.htm scunnered]"

elliemac · 24/10/2007 20:40

A scunner is like 'fed up'. You don't half have a long drive!

Bree - can i have some of that wine & chocolate?

"talking aboot the ironing im aw scunnered"

MALO · 24/10/2007 20:41

Wine and choccie - oh yes please ... or do I have to piss someone off with my comments in order to get some?

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 24/10/2007 20:42

Were you nice to SSD ???

If so yes.....

If not..........LGJ/Bree peers over her glasses..........

elliemac · 24/10/2007 20:42

What would de-scunner you then?

OP posts:
stleger · 24/10/2007 20:43

People get scunnered in N.Ireland too. But they do smoothing rather than ironing a lot of the time.

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 24/10/2007 20:44

I argued with SSD, she apologised it is sorted. Why is everyone else jumping on the band wagon ??

MALO · 24/10/2007 20:44

Thats a lovely big glass for me then and I'll have anything soft centred....thanks!

massivebigpumpkinface · 24/10/2007 20:45

MALO · 24/10/2007 20:46

I'm not jumping on the 'bandwagon' - I was simply disagreeing with her comments - is that not allowed?

elliemac · 24/10/2007 20:47

I like the idea of 'smoothing' stleger.

OP posts:
MALO · 24/10/2007 20:49

Oh and please note I wasn't the only one who disagreed.........

ScottishMummy · 24/10/2007 20:49

elliemac · 24/10/2007 20:55

Do your own fucking ironing, ya bunch of precious mares.

ScottishMummy · 24/10/2007 20:58

oi pottymouth who rattled yer cage then
ya scunner

stleger · 24/10/2007 20:59

Very smooth in the north - think James Nesbitt! Sadly I am now in the south where ironing is the order of the day. (Do Scottish people say bummfly for clothes with too much material?)

MALO · 24/10/2007 21:00

I do, always have done and actually quite enjoy it!

Now then washing line/tumble drier? Err depends on the weather, whether or not there are any passing birds with diarrhoea and whether or not I can be bothered to hang it all out - forget about it - and it gets damp again....so, yes, I have to admit, I am a tumble-drier sort of woman!

Apologies, in advance, if that is going to annoy anyone, cause anyone to tell me to read the threads or prevent me from getting a well deserved glass of wine and some choccie.

MALO · 24/10/2007 21:01

Oh and if I tumble-dry then I don't have the ironing to do.....yippee!

ScottishMummy · 24/10/2007 21:02

id rather not think about James Nesbitt-eugh
bumphy - aye thon jumper dinae sit well its aw bumphy
