Have discovered this fab ironing lady just down the road from me but DH keeps moaning that i'm sending it out all the time. Its just such a relief to bung it in a bag and have it all come back nicely pressed. Am a SAHM so should i be making time to do it myself?

Can you imagine if someone wants to come on here and talk about ironing now - They'll be thinking 'what the hell?'. Between tadgers and the Proclaimers. I give up!!!!

Elliemac you DID want to talk about ironing but you have to admit that our conversations are more interesting haha!

elliemac · 01/11/2007 19:07

That for sure!! Its much better than ironing isn't it? I'm so annoyed tonight - Its been pissing with rain all day and i just feel miserable. Cheer me up. Give me some gossip - pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeez!

I send the tricky stuff out - double cuffed shirts and things - to me it costs the same as a takeaway would - I cut down on the takeaways, get my ironing done and in my head I've not spent any (more) money!

elliemac · 01/11/2007 20:25

Quite right - DH wears those casual trouser things from next with all the pockets on. They're an absolute nightmare. Love sending those out. I just refuse to do them.
BS30 - You see, you can talk about ironing! No doubt you'll come along shortly and the whole thread will degenerate into filth again

elliemac · 01/11/2007 20:33

Pleased with myself as I tackled all my ironing tonight.
No other gossip really from darkest Lanarkshire. Been pissing down here too. Ooh I met a mumsnetter today as I had bought a swim nappy off her and she threw in all these clothes for free as I collected them and she didn't have to post. What a lovely woman.

ScottishMummy · 01/11/2007 22:01

waves to the lanarkshire massive blimey, airdrie, hamilton, coatbridge. yep always dreich in lanarkshire

"cant find the iron anywhere but who cares when you lookey likey me"

bigspender30 · 01/11/2007 22:05

elliemac · 02/11/2007 19:27

hi elliemac, I was at a virgin vie party last night- not too exciting although my sister( the hostess) had £190 to spend as folk ordered so much! I wasn't too enamoured with it all despite my sister plying me with large glasses of wine.
Not much news in Lanarkshire. Just watched a film which was mediocre. You doing the ironing doll??

elliemac · 04/11/2007 19:37

Am i doing the ironing? Are you mad woman? DH and i had a night off last night so we went out for a meal. Was really nice but i just wanted to sit down and watch Strictly. Nothing much new here either. I've been to a Virgin Vie recently and i wasn't that thrilled with the stuff either. Where has the rest of them gone anyway? Been really quiet on here.

bigspender30 · 04/11/2007 20:03

Yes it is very quiet! Where are you all?? When do you go to Proclaimers?

elliemac · 06/11/2007 21:19

Proclaimers is next tuesday. Looking forward to it. Is it freezing in your neck of the woods too? Am shattered tonight - DD decided to get up at 4 am this morning - NIGHTMARE!!!!!

I am going to a Dana concert! Yes, really, and it is for charity. I have done all my ironing, I deserve better.

elliemac · 06/11/2007 21:32

DANA!!!!!!! WTF - It would need to be for charity. I thought i was bad. I went to see Michael Bolton once

OP posts:
ssd · 06/11/2007 21:32

elliemac · 06/11/2007 21:33

Hiya SSD. Still going. THink its moved on a bit from ironing mind.

OP posts:
stleger · 06/11/2007 21:44

I keep think I can't be going to see Dana.... This thread is kindof surreal! Like a dream that the plot moves!

bigspender30 · 06/11/2007 22:00

Evening all! Yes its freezing here and apparently severe weather warnings for Thursday morning into Friday-90 mile an hour winds etc. Nice.
Dana-wtf?? Why? Michael Bolton-oh dear god.
My most embarrassing concert would be......
AHa or Billy Idol

ScottishMummy · 07/11/2007 08:32

ashamed to say i went to a simple minds concert and it was kakk does the singing kettle count it was stoatin

elliemac · 08/11/2007 12:19

The Singing Kettle? Thats been around since i was wee. I'm 32 now. I'll have you to know that Michael Bolton was very good in concert!!! Dana takes the cake tho. Are you going to see Daniel O'Donnell too?
