I'm not being unreasonable it's annoying I just wanted a rant and didn't no where to put it.
Dh loves designer gear just because well it's designer. Like we may need a new fridge but he doesn't want to buy that and will buy Hugo boss trainers for the same price. His socks had holes in yesterday I went ooo nearly Christmas il get you some socks joking around. With a straight face he turned around and said I don't want socks but my Ralph Lauren aftershave is running out 😑 I like nice things but I would happily buy a whole outfit with no holes then buy one item because it has a label

Iamclearlyamug could be lol. He just bought his teenage son £600 trainers which he can't afford. So now he's encouraging his 16 year old to be superficial.

2Kidsinatrenchcoat · 18/10/2020 16:14

[quote Londonmummy66]There is a solution to the dilemma - a Dolce & Gabbana fridge - should be flash enough for your DH as he can guarantee that the Jonses won't have one...

I was going to mention the Smeg Dolce & Gabbana range too! If only I had the money... although they’d look ridiculous out of place in my tiny kitchen! Grin

GabsAlot · 18/10/2020 16:15

Its one of these. Seen some axes going for £400 and stuff. I love a bit of scandinavian metalwork.

Suzi888 · 18/10/2020 16:17

Can we see his socks Grin

ToastyCrumpet · 18/10/2020 16:21

Could you persuade him to buy a flashy designer fridge?

FatherTedsBankAccount · 18/10/2020 16:33

Those Smeg-D&G fridges are fucking hideous!

goldenharvest · 18/10/2020 16:35

I find it a bit sad that someone is so bound up with hype and labels and so superficial. Christ. The planet is burning and he worries about a sodding label?

CaMePlaitPas · 18/10/2020 16:41

Cringe

WhoUsedMyName · 18/10/2020 16:42

@Suzi888 sadly I binned them Sad for the record I believe they were only black Asda ones sorry to disappoint

OP posts:
ginghamtablecloths · 18/10/2020 16:48

Who exactly is going to be impressed with this designer twaddle anyway? Only other prats. People who he may wish to impress will be laughing behind their hands at him - or to his face if they're unkind.

Why did you marry this idiot? Your ideals seem to be poles apart.

WhoUsedMyName · 18/10/2020 16:50

Oh dear he's actually an amazing dh & dad has some really great qualities we just don't see eye to eye on the designer front it was just a moan

OP posts:
GCHWho · 18/10/2020 16:50

That would do my home brand’ tits in ! Flowers

WhoUsedMyName · 18/10/2020 16:51

@GCHWho brilliant Grin

OP posts:
NiceGerbil · 18/10/2020 17:04

That is a very nice axe Grin

Mummyoflittledragon · 18/10/2020 17:12

What about a playboy one?

Mummyoflittledragon · 18/10/2020 17:13

Don’t think that posted?..

Dh flashy twat
InFiveMins · 18/10/2020 17:30

He sounds about 15 Confused

LadyHofH · 18/10/2020 17:32

Could you tell him that Ralph L is a bit downmarket? After all, they sell it in TK Maxx. I would think that a man who went in for designer labels was a bit of a chav. I don't suppose that's the image he's hoping to cultivate, though.

KatherineJaneway · 18/10/2020 17:37

@PubicMenace

He does sound like a bit of a prat Grin
To me too OP, sorry Grin

Am sure he is lovely in other ways

Soubriquet · 18/10/2020 17:40

@Smallsteps88

I’ve never understood why people pay a fortune to advertise a very rich company’s products for them. Companies are supposed to pay for advertising, not get paid to advertise their brand on your back/feet/arse.

If Ralph Lauren want me to wear their aftershave they can send me an offer.

See I don’t get paying expensive amounts for things like perfumes and aftershaves

I mean it’s not like it sprays the logo on you is it?

You could easily buy a cheaper one that smells extremely similar and say it’s the branded one anyway!

SunshineCake · 18/10/2020 18:01

@WhoUsedMyName

Maybe I'm the odd one then. Sometimes he will buy me an expensive gift an id rather have somthing useful than flash 🤣 maybe the problem lies with me and I just don't understand the importance of an expensive but not needed item
There is no importance to an expensive toy/treat HmmConfused.
SapphireSeptember · 18/10/2020 18:03

The poster who mentioned expensive lipstick made me smile, I could buy an expensive lipstick, wear it, and no one except me would know what it is (unless I told them.) Hermes do a lipstick for £62, I'm wondering how many lipsticks I could buy for that... Grin

Mumzuki · 18/10/2020 18:30

Some of the kids I work with keep telling me how much their trainers/coat/phone cost. It’s pretty weird, they may grow out of it but maybe they’ll just grow up to own Dolce and Gabbana fridges.

cobpickles · 18/10/2020 18:34

ugh he sounds like a 13 year old boy. so unattractive
