I do I do and the reason is plain and simple. I know people I work with that use this site and I don't want them to suspect who I am.

I bet most of you have several usernames for the same reasons right?

but but but but

you can't make relationships with anyone on here

that's one of the best bits

TellusMater · 12/10/2007 18:49

But some of us are unpopular loners billynomates exclusive Franny...

southeastastra · 12/10/2007 18:49

i never know who anyone is anymore

MysteryPerson · 12/10/2007 18:50

true - but like I said, too many people I work with come on here and I really woudn't want them to know my intimate details/problems so namechanging is the only option for me.

I thought you all knew each other?

wideload · 12/10/2007 18:54

Thats the whole point, I know all the goss from knicker elastic to pony sex and get all the in jokes, I'm not here for friendships, I want gossip. Anyway I am not one of the people who are exclusive on tv boards or the depression boards, I just go to unanswered threads and then to the last 15 minutes, and stick to them.

ScaryMonsterStories · 12/10/2007 18:54

I change regularly to try and avoid being searchable. I am always SMS though so people recognise me.....oh and a few undercover names too...

flowerybeanbag · 12/10/2007 18:56

Anyone who vaguely knows me could work out who I am if they did a search.

I post virtually everything under this name, but have changed a couple of times when revealing stuff that I wouldn't want people who can tell it's me to know - too personal etc

IamDaisy · 12/10/2007 18:57

usually for fun on my PN thread, but always change back. I've had several different variations with daisy in but I like this one so will stick with it I think (was recently daisyandbabybootoo incase anyone was wondering)

Have done a very personal thread with a namechange as I didn't want the people I regularly chat to knowing about it....not sure why.

wideload · 12/10/2007 18:58

I wouldn't say by changing my name sKerry that I was being sneaky, I am telling you here and now, and at some point during my hundred posts I will say that I am a serial name changer. How much more above board can I make it.

onlyjoking9329 · 12/10/2007 19:02

i have named changed a long time ago for a funny thread but i am not very good at tecno and can't remember how to did it

Flamesparrow · 12/10/2007 19:07

I change. Usually for personal reasons. Never to troll. Most stuff I am open about with a flamey name, but some things I want more private.

I have had some random namechanges for reasons even I don't know (Oxygen being one of them)

PeachyFleshCrawlingWithBugs · 12/10/2007 19:08

Nope- mines a play on my own name and even if I go for a seasonal one its still obvious. Really not arsed who knows my busness tbh- either theyc are enough to be sympathetic / tolerant wahtever, or they don't.

If I were abput to post 'I have gree pus coming out of my fanjo' a name change may be considered but i dont tend to share that lewvel of TMI on MN.

wideload · 12/10/2007 19:15

Wideload is a name I changed to today, so even though I have been on her for nearly 4 yrs and LIKE to name change do you consider that to be trolling and sneaky is that what you are saying. Surely it should be as tolerated as Cod's awful spelling and misdee's obsession with prams (no offence misdee ..[wink)]

wideload · 12/10/2007 19:16

oh and I have been on 6 threads so far, and on two I have said I am an old bird long timer.

Flamesparrow · 12/10/2007 19:19

Wideload - I'm baffled... what did Skerry say on this thread that's pissed you off?

wideload · 12/10/2007 19:22

She said that she was all ways above board with who she was. I took it as she was saying that I was being underhand and sneaky.

LoRayningNewtsAndFrogs · 12/10/2007 19:24

I have only been here about three months and have changed my name a couple of times, twice was just jokingly towards another thread (middleclassbutchlesbian and brokenheartedbutchlesbian) my original name was Lorayn (my real name) and then I have a halloweeny one.
I'd like a different name, instead of my actual name, I never thought about people from RL maybe knowing who I am, especially when I'm talking about exdp and/or his family, it could cause some trouble I suppose, but I've got used to being me and a few people recognise my name now so I'd have to start over, which tbh I really can't be bothered to do.

2HappyFrighteningPeople · 12/10/2007 19:26

I've mostly always been 2Happy/some seasonal variation, but I have had some other aliases. Mostly it's when I'm having off phases with MN because I'm not in any particular crowd and I wonder if a new try under a new name will work (it never does - I am never clever/witty/shocking/interesting enough no matter what I call myself). I probably wouldn't change my name for embarassing reasons despite dsis using MN; I'm sure she knows all my secrets already!

Flamesparrow · 12/10/2007 19:28

Aaaaaaaaah, ooh yes, with you now
