Well like it or not, blue with soldiers will generally be considered 'boy' clothing.

TurquoiseDress · 13/10/2020 14:54

I think it's a super cute & practical outfit for a baby/crawler.

Would be happy to buy for either DC (one of each), meh it's much much cuter than some of the 'girls stuff'- insipid pinks and massive head bows all over the place!

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 13/10/2020 14:54

@ShirleyPhallus

Just out of interest - the people saying its a horrible outfit, what sort of stuff do you dress your babies in? Just leggings / sweatshirts etc?

I think this look is lovely!

Nothing as old fashioned as that.

DDs were/are dressed in baby grows, tops and leggings, dresses and tights, dungarees...

I don’t like outfits in that style. Had a couple for DD1 and they never fitted her properly and looked so uncomfortable. They were also a complete pain to try and get her in. Got rid of them for DD2.

DoTheMaccaroni · 13/10/2020 14:55

YABU to buy it for any child cause it’s ugly as hell 😂😂😂

DoTheMaccaroni · 13/10/2020 14:56

But to me, everything is unisex. My daughter is often dressed in clothing found in the ‘boy’ section. If I had a boy he could have his pick from the ‘girl’ section too if he liked.

TurquoiseDress · 13/10/2020 14:58

I think really if you want to buy for a girl it needs to be pink with frills and bows and preferably an adorable slogan such as "sugar and spice" or "mummy's BFF"

Yes, nice comfortable looking clothing with nice soft cotton/stretchy fabric. This looks way too formal for a child!

The White Company has some good, simple, unisex London themed sleepsuits, including a gift set with a teddy bear guardsman. There is an extra 10% off today too.

It might have soldiers/beefeaters, but I'd say the frilliness is quite 'girly,'/ means it's probably for girls anyway.

TableFlowerss · 13/10/2020 15:01

@user128472578267

it looks too girly for a boy and too boyish for a girl

This is incredibly sad.

It’s not sad at all. People can chose to put their kids in whatever they like. It’s a fact that some people prefer their babies to be dressed in ‘girly’ ‘boyish’ clothes.

You can’t assume that everyone loves the whole gender neutral clothing range!

MarshmallowsOnToast · 13/10/2020 15:06

@Plmoknijb123

Ahhh, I’m sending it as a gift to a warm country so was just looking for something ‘Londonish’ and fun. But friend though it was for a boy only so now I’m second guessing myself!!
Tu Sainsbury's have some nice London style bits in.

They are definitely unisex.

Well if it is for next summer it might be ok, but way too cold now.

oakleaffy · 13/10/2020 15:08

Looks a bit fussy....like something a 1950's baby would wear, but at least it isn't PINK.

It looks like something the Royals would dress their babies in.

Nottherealslimshady · 13/10/2020 15:09

It looks more girly than boyish to me

ForTheLoveOfDoughtnuts · 13/10/2020 15:14

I think it's girlie. I wouldn't buy it for a boy.

Chickychickydodah · 13/10/2020 15:15

Sorry, don’t like it and it’s very boy !

RedMarauder · 13/10/2020 15:15

It's fine for any baby if you like it.

I have dressed my DD, now 2, in clothes aimed at boys and girls simply because there are fewer clothes aimed at girls with dinosaurs on them and even less with cars.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 13/10/2020 15:17

It’s lovely. Unisex I’d think.

Typical Jojo maman Bebe. I bought loads from there for my DC. Y parents had a big party once and a friend of theirs asked if my DC were wearing my old baby clothes. I said “er, no!” They said “well you don’t see those sorts of clothes anymore, do you!!”

It was a beautiful smocked pale blue dress.

caoraich · 13/10/2020 15:18

I think it's lovely. The collar and the gingham make me think it's more "girlish" but I'd buy it for a girl or a boy.

LifesNotEnidBlyton · 13/10/2020 15:21

No. But IMPO I wouldn't buy for either as I think it's very drab.

MissBaskinIfYoureNasty · 13/10/2020 15:21

Boy or girl, it's not very nice so I wouldn't want it either way. I dislike fussy traditional looking stuff anyway and I don't think its practical. To use that in colder weather you'd have to faff about with tights. I like onesies until they are crawling at least but horses for courses.

picosandsancerre · 13/10/2020 15:22

I really like it and agree it is fine for a boy or girl.

Sunbird24 · 13/10/2020 15:22

Have you looked at Cath Kidston for London themed baby stuff?

ToastyCrumpet · 13/10/2020 15:22

It’s unisex but I wouldn’t buy something with soldiers on.

Pricklylittlecactus · 13/10/2020 15:24

I wouldn't but I wouldn't put a boy in it either sooo probably not a helpful comment 🤣
