I know it wouldn't be professional. But in Parliament, Boris gets to give his statement, Keir replied to it - and Boris then attacked that reply and the Labour party.

Keir isn't allowed to reply to that. He just has to sit there whilst Boris gets to make more replies.

I think Keir just wants to wipe that smug grin off Boris's face and tell him what he thinks of the reply Boris gave. But he can't.

I can’t see why Starmer would be any different to anyone I know.

But what would Keir Starmer-or anyone-do that would be better?

It seems that no-body anywhere in the world knows the best way forward-so depressing.

So easy isn't it to be sat on that side of the house knowing he's not responsible for dealing with it all.

I think it's the other way round. Boris can't defeat Keir in an argument so he'd love it if Keir just went all Toulouse Le Plot and screamed at him to go fuck himself. He'd consider it a victory.

I bet Keir is better at creative insults as well, and probably swears like a trooper when there are no microphones around.

There are plenty more waiting in the wings, some of whom might be even worse (although I doubt if any of them would be less competent).

I think Johnson might stand aside soon anyway. He looks as though he's lost all enthusiasm for the job, he's had a moan about how it doesn't pay enough, I reckon he'll "get Brexit done" and resign, citing post-Covid fatigue or wanting to spend more time with his family. He'll have fulfilled the role of useful idiot and then someone else can step up to deal with the aftermath.

Someone else might be more competent, but I doubt if they'd do any more to help the people who are really struggling. The poor will bear the brunt of paying for Covid one way or another and I think that, overall, things are going to be shit for years to come.

BoJo couldn't give a fuck about what anybody wants with the exception of Cummings. Hopefully his demise is sooner rather than later.

That should be downfall not demise.

I think a lot of people want to tell Boris to fuck off. But the Tories right now are doing nothing to be popular or pay attention, listen or win anyone over .... or you know, effectively govern.

I doubt it, he’d actually have to get off the fence in his position of both agreeing, disagreeing, condemning, but then also having no alternative plan, all at the same time. He is utterly pointless

Its not as if KS as articulated any detailed alternative though, and I say this as a Labour voter
