to think Keir Starmer just wants to tell Boris Johnson to fuck off

I know it wouldn't be professional. But in Parliament, Boris gets to give his statement, Keir replied to it - and Boris then attacked that reply and the Labour party.

Keir isn't allowed to reply to that. He just has to sit there whilst Boris gets to make more replies.

I think Keir just wants to wipe that smug grin off Boris's face and tell him what he thinks of the reply Boris gave. But he can't.

Johnson looked like he had a lot of dandruff in HoC today - all that ruffling his hair I suppose.

I noticed that, said to DD he needs a lindt roller. Dd asked if he had a cat!

everythingisginandroses · 12/10/2020 23:08

@Fizbosshoes If Alexander has a cat, it appears to be living underneath his hair.

@CrappleUmble - yes, I agree he'll be gone well before 2024 (or Tthe Year of Keir, as I prefer to call it Grin). I was thinking about getting rid of the Tories in general. Alexander is plainly not up for the job and it's beyond him. I would expect him to resume his former duties as a rentagob hack whilst he waits for the after-dinner speaking circuit to resume.

@bakewelltarty
@rwalker - I think this govt has proved that we are a lot better off as a country than they would have us believe. They duped us into 10 years of austerity. There is money to spend on good policies. The Tories just didn't want to spend on public services until they had no choice.

We are haemorrhaging money borrowing unpresidented amounts plunging us into debt for decades and decades to come . They haven't raided there savings account to pay for all this .
we're in for decades of austerity to pay this back .

rwalker · 12/10/2020 23:33

@chomalungmaas he knows as well as anyone that no one knows anything so he's sitting back criticising without offering up alternative

Criticism: The test and trace is centralised
Alternative: Use local resources

Criticism: The furlough scheme is ending and people will miss out
Alternative: Target people who need support

Criticism: Testing isn't being done well enough because of reliance on big labs
Alternative: Use local labs

Maybe you weren't listening to those alternatives?

Did you hear Domanic Harrison public health blackburn on the radio today . Said to set up T+T locally would take absolute months to recruit and train staff get premises and develop an it system lucky if online by end of year .

Local labs theses labs aren't just standing idle now the already have a work load . Many of these are running to capacity now with general NHS work .

Yes the furlough was ending but so were the restrictions . New restrictions new furlough .

bakewelltarty · 12/10/2020 23:54

@rwalker - I think you've misunderstood me. My point was in answer to your statement that you liked labour's policies but there was no money to pay for them. Granted there isn't now but the Tory's successfully persuaded the majority of the country that we were on our arse with no magic money tree long before this pandemic. That was patently not true.

Peregrina · 13/10/2020 00:09

....or wanting to spend more time with his family.

Which one? I doubt it though, spend time with his latest shag more like.

lasttimeround · 13/10/2020 05:59

We all want to tell boris Johnson to fuck off

looseddaughter · 13/10/2020 06:27

Did someone up thread say the new speaker 'spits in fury' or something? I wish he would - he's utterly shit. Sits there half asleep most of the time then tries to make a sarcastic comment that bombs then goes back to letting Johnson evade whatever question he's just been asked, or lie about it. PMQs ends every sodding week with Johnson ranting and banging the table accusing Labour /Starmer of nonsense and they have no right of reply. What an utterly shit system that's so easy for Johnson to manipulate. I think it shows it does depend on a strong, impartial speaker, which Hoyle definitely is not.

Every time Johnson trots out the 'Captain Hindsight' line or tries to blame Starmer for everything going to shit because he hasn't 'got behind it', I shout fuck off at the telly and I'm sure Starmer wants to shout it too - but his face says it better imo - loved the closed eyes grimace that did the rounds on Twitter a few weeks ago.

Oh, and anyone who says Labour have offered no alternatives just hasn't been listening - or gets all their info from the RW media.

rosie1959 · 13/10/2020 06:29

I suspect Boris Johnson also has the urge to tell KS to fuck off too

chomalungma · 13/10/2020 07:39

This was called for at the start of the pandemic - 6 months ago.

Local labs theses labs aren't just standing idle now the already have a work load . Many of these are running to capacity now with general NHS work

There was a call to use local expertise, local labs etc - asked for by the local labs themselves - ignored.

Yes the furlough was ending but so were the restrictions . New restrictions new furlough

It was obvious that certain sectors were gong to have issues and would need specific targeting - and you may have noticed that the restrictions weren't all ending - you may have noticed the effect on the arts and creative industry?

Maybe a little bit from column A, little bit from column B...

chomalungma · 13/10/2020 18:52

I think we can guarantee that PMQs tomorrow will be interesting
