Just thought I’d ask to cheer us up and reminds ourselves that amongst all this doom and gloom there’s still happiness to be had in the simple things of life.

I’ll start. Went for a lovely long walk with my beautiful dog.. We were both so happy, the sun was shining and I put all negative thoughts out of my head and just enjoyed the moment.

Love to hear what made everyone else happy today. Smile

What a lovely thread. Smile

My little pleasure has been watching people react to Pisces by Jinjer on the Youtubes. They can't seem to believe a woman can vocalise the way Tatiana does, it's hilarious. :o

bootygirl · 11/10/2020 23:48

Reading with a coffee, facetime with in laws.

Mydogmylife · 11/10/2020 23:53

@caringcarer
Indeed he is . I'm biased but I think he's gorgeous !

Disastermagnet27 · 11/10/2020 23:54

Spent the day at a Rural life centre with DS2 aged 6. Lovely to spend some time with just him as we haven't done that for a while. He was so interested and full of questions. We had a McDonald's on the way home and then watched a movie together before DH and DS1 (8) got home. Finished the day with DS2 losing his second tooth!

Yesterday I went to watch DS1 play football. My parents live overseas and so don't get to watch him. DF loves hearing all about the matches but yesterday I decided to video call him. A few minutes after I called him DS1 proceeded to score 3 goals in quick succession and DF saw them all!!
It's been a tough year for him health wise and so to see his DGS score a hat trick was a little thing that made him (and me) very happy. Ds1 was also thrilled his DGF had seen it all!!

A great weekend all round!

olivesnutsandcheese · 11/10/2020 23:55

Went for a lovely run in the sunshine today and DS8 was fab, said thank you really nicely for everything I did for him!

lollipoprainbow · 11/10/2020 23:58

Went out to McDonald's and it felt almost normal again ! It was a gorgeous fresh day coming out my dd 8 and I both said 'that was nice' which made us both laugh !

LockdownLump · 12/10/2020 00:00

I made dauphinoise potatoes. Doesn't happen that often as they are so decadent, but it made us all very very happy 😁

lollipoprainbow · 12/10/2020 00:01

@Uptheshard jealous !!!

sakabla · 12/10/2020 00:02

DD was diagnosed with general anxiety years ago and bi polar earlier this year and has really struggled with her classes all being online, we’re still in lockdown. Any time she has had to talk has ended in a major panic attack. But today she is doing a demonstration to her class. She spent all day yesterday practising and preparing using all her coping strategies she’s learnt in therapy. And she is doing it!!!! She’s calm and articulate, I couldn’t be more proud!

Lndnmummy · 12/10/2020 00:06

A glass of (terrible) wine and a catch up with a friend I haven’t seen in a while.
Deciding to let go of a draining friendship. I feel like I can breathe again.
My sister has bought a beautiful puppy. I’m so happy for her as she suffers from depression and the puppy will give her company and a motivation to go for walks which will help her with a routine and fresh air/excerise. I’m so happy that she is pursuing something for herself.

GlummyMcGlummerson · 12/10/2020 00:10

My 8yo DD "babysat" for her 4yo brother, at her request

When I say babysat I let her "look after" him in the living room, take him his lunch, play with him etc while I was in the next room with a coffee and a book, occasionally shouting "you two ok". This lasted for 4 hours. I was so happy 😂 DD is amazing, so eager to help and they love each other so much. It was one of those "Imm doing something right" moments

SheSaidHummingbird · 12/10/2020 00:46

Thank you seabreeze77 Smile

And happy birthday to emmetgirl and GiraffeWithSwag also.

Didlum · 12/10/2020 00:54

Went for a walk to the local park with dd 16 to look for fungi and took photos of some.

CarrieMoonbeams · 12/10/2020 01:29

Walked the dogs in beautiful sunshine this morning, and just really appreciated where we live. It's not 'fancy' but we have the most wonderful neighbours.

As a PP said, got a washing out on the line, dried, ironed and put away - it smelled of outside.

Didn't fancy watching TV, so had a really peaceful evening with a glass of wine, my book, a Woodwick candle crackling away, and just perfect companionable near-silence with DH.

AmICrazyorWhat2 · 12/10/2020 01:36

Walking the dog while sipping on a cappuccino. DD making a yummy cake and having a nice chat with my Dad who was in a good mood ( he’s not always). Listening to DH and DS cheer while they watched American football ( I don’t understand it).😄

moonsnow · 12/10/2020 01:37

I went for a walk with my husband by the river and it was so beautiful in the autumn evening sunlight. I had brought my camera and took some photographs. Then we picked up some Japanese takeout on the way home and watched an old movie, blissful.

CoffeeInAnIV · 12/10/2020 01:41

A long walk in the autumn sun with the family and getting the loveliest boots less than half price with free next day delivery.

Vivana · 12/10/2020 07:38

Knowing today I finally leave my supermarket job. After a few years of pure crap from customers especially the last few months I will be starting a whole new career next week away from it all.

Bargebill19 · 12/10/2020 13:29

@Vivana

Congratulations!!!

NoIDontWatchLoveIsland · 12/10/2020 13:40

Watching 1 yr old DD try and put on her brothers socks for aaaages Grin

AmICrazyorWhat2 · 12/10/2020 14:20

Awww, I miss those small child moments! Mine are both taller than me.😄

SimonJT · 12/10/2020 18:29

My partner passed all of his professional qualifications and is now officially qualified. He has worked his arse off, including during recovery from fairly major surgery and being made redundant and having to find another trainee post.

bootygirl · 12/10/2020 20:10

I got my official transcript and was awarded H2:1 in my Masters today. After a very rough two years of studying working and family demands!! Today makes it all worth it!!

TazMac · 12/10/2020 20:12

Finding two chocolate digestives in the drawer. Wrapped up properly so they hadn’t gone stale. Two was just enough to perk me up with a cup of tea Smile.

AdoptedBumpkin · 12/10/2020 20:16

A very chilled post-school chat with DD. She is coping well under the circumstances.
