Just thought I’d ask to cheer us up and reminds ourselves that amongst all this doom and gloom there’s still happiness to be had in the simple things of life.

I’ll start. Went for a lovely long walk with my beautiful dog.. We were both so happy, the sun was shining and I put all negative thoughts out of my head and just enjoyed the moment.

Love to hear what made everyone else happy today. Smile

Finished another chapter. Writing not reading. And the painting I'm doing for DH's birthday is coming together at last. Just need to decide. Does it need a cat?

Mrsmadevans · 11/10/2020 22:10

The beautiful weather and the colours on the leaves of the trees it was delightful Smile

I made a rather fetching piece of art with my 4yr old DD out of manky leaves we had collected the day before on a lovely walk with the dog.

It was such a nice way to spend the morning I temporarily lost my mind and allowed her to get the playdoh out - resulting in a lovely blue, sticky mark on my carpet Confused

Seeing the family of swans all still together, these kept us going through lockdown, having watched the parents on the nest, seeing the babies as soon as they hatched, and all 9 babies now nearly fully grown.

Vgbeat · 11/10/2020 22:11

Helping my 9 year old do her homework and then the two of us baking up a storm.

Today I suddenly felt much happier than I have for ages.

Had a lovely lunch out with dd while ds was at a party.

Maybe a nap in the afternoon also helped?

Yesterday we all went to a pumpkin farm and then came home, carved the pumpkins and made soup. Really lovely.

waitforitwaitforit · 11/10/2020 22:13

I took my toddlers swimming. The pools were closed here for such a long time, and they took a wee while to get used to being back, but today they just loved it.

stovetopespresso · 11/10/2020 22:15

seeing how beautiful the hills are when i took ds to rugby. roast and crumble cooked by dh, all 4 dc at home oldest having given dd2 a lovely shopping trip in London, despite all the challenges. then watching the James herriot series by the fire.

My horse coming to call from miles away. He’s such a good boy! Shame he was so filthy.

Spent all morning worrying about my little cat as she wasn't herself, little cat has been playing me, coffed her fish. Messages from ds and dd who are both at university and ok. Dh went to the pub and returned with a chinese takeaway. Lovely day, trying not to have that monday feeling whilst quaffing a glass of wine.

VaggieMight · 11/10/2020 22:19

Had lunch in a restaurant outside, we had jumpers on so when the sun was shining it was actually too warm. The food was lovely and it wasn't too busy.

Loveatortie · 11/10/2020 22:21

Scoffed her fish Smile

Feellikedancingyeah · 11/10/2020 22:21

Going for a lovely walk through the park with the kids and my sister to look for autumn leaves.

TasslesandFringes · 11/10/2020 22:23

Autumn leaves.
Bike ride.
Chat with family.

Begonias · 11/10/2020 22:23

My 6yr old niece remembered it was my birthday and sent me a voice message " hi aunty Begonias, I know it's your birthday so I'm making you a card. I don't have enough money in my moneybox to buy you a present and I'm also self isolating. When I'm out of isolation I'll buy you a present"
That was the most sincere birthday greeting, I was 😭
My 8yr old also made me a card at 7am. I've had quite an emotional day, lockdown is making me soft.

TasslesandFringes · 11/10/2020 22:23

Oh and the dinner I made was ace!

Bargebill19 · 11/10/2020 22:24

All five cats coming for a cuddle. Plus the two ferals happily coming for food. Bring out in the sunshine and watching the birds on the feeders.

HerRoyalNotness · 11/10/2020 22:26

I have put off finishing an essay for uni for 3 days. Due tomorrow. I got straight up this morning and got it finished which lifts a weight for sure

Plus I went and bought myself some ice-cream that is very reminiscent of an ice cream from my homeland that I love. In fact I bought 2 containers and one of coffee. All for me!

MutteringDarkly · 11/10/2020 22:27

@5050not aww we used to love goodnight moon.

ssd · 11/10/2020 22:30

Went a long walk in the fresh air, felt great after 2 weeks self isolating.
Sat outside tonight with dh, always have a nice chat.
Texted a few friends.

thisislovelyme · 11/10/2020 22:30

Asking my 8yo what the best thing about his week was and he said playing playmobil castles with me!

EstuaryBird · 11/10/2020 22:30

Great walk with 2 friends in beautiful countryside. Conquered 2 hills that I wouldn’t have been able to contemplate 3 months ago 😊

MissCalamity · 11/10/2020 22:30

I've been poorly (not covid related) and haven't done any exercise in a whole month.
Played hockey today and we won and I scored both goals! Great feeling and looking forward to next weekend already. Grin
