Going to bed with socks on (lighthearted)

DH says I'm weird and unhygienic for wearing socks in bed. Apparently no one else does it. Am I the odd one out?

Apparently there are no hygiene issues wearing the same boxers in bed that he has worn all day! Envy

I always wear socks until I've warmed up, then kick them off.
If I sleep with then on, I feel like I haven't slept Confused

leafeater · 09/10/2020 21:10

I have bed socks Grin

TwinMum89 · 09/10/2020 21:10

I will wear them in bed initially if I’m cold but always kick them off in the night. Doesn’t feel right to sleep with socks on!

Poshjock · 09/10/2020 21:11

Literally lying in bed right now with socks on

OldGreyBoots · 09/10/2020 21:11

I like socks in bed, but clean ones rather than the ones I've worn all day. Just a psychological thing! Though I buy thick fluffy bed socks for that purpose Grin

SchrodingersImmigrant · 09/10/2020 21:11

I used to have bed socks. They were only worn in bed. Ultra fluffy😁Interestingly my feet aren't freezing at night lately🤔 First time ever in my life.

SchrodingersImmigrant · 09/10/2020 21:11

Not freezing even without socks

goose1964 · 09/10/2020 21:11

I do if it's cold, I like weight on my feet which socks help

wolfmom · 09/10/2020 21:12

When it's cold enough I have some really fluffy socks just for bed

No, no socks and feet always outside the cover!

Meruem · 09/10/2020 21:13

Same as pp’s, I sometimes start off with them in the night if it’s really cold, but then wake up at some point boiling and peel them off! However, I did read that cold feet can lead to a poor nights sleep so if you need them, wear them!

ReeseWitherfork · 09/10/2020 21:13

I put clean pants and socks on for bed.

Pants in bed???? Shock

Bearnecessity · 09/10/2020 21:14

Every night I wouldn't be able to sleep without them on...men have far more minging hygiene issues to worry about imo.

wannabebump · 09/10/2020 21:14

I wear socks in bed if it's really chilly, will kick them off once I've warmed up though. And clean socks, not ones I've wore all day!

DueNumberTwo · 09/10/2020 21:15

I wouldn't wear socks that I'd worn all day in bed but don't see a problem with fresh socks.
Apparently you sleep better if your feet are warm.

AlwaysLatte · 09/10/2020 21:20

I don't feel right with socks on, especially since that's all I'd have on! 🤣

ChasedByFox · 09/10/2020 21:22

@TwinMum89 You're my sock twin!

DannyGlickWindowTapping · 09/10/2020 21:23

I wear socks quite a lot - either because my feet are icy, or because I've slathered cream on my hooves and don't want it to get all over the sheets.

caughtalightsneeze · 09/10/2020 21:24

My daughter can't sleep at all unless she has socks on. Even on the hottest night she has her socks on.

I'm almost as bad but I do kick them off if I get too hot.

Laughingcrow · 09/10/2020 21:24

I wear knickers and a t-shirt because DC get into bed with us. No socks.

Chasingsquirrels · 09/10/2020 21:24

I wear an old worn t-shirt and socks. I'd quite like the dog to sleep on my feet, but I don't allow him upstairs and if I did it have to fight ds2 for much time dog rights anyway. When it's cold I take a microwaved hot bag thingie to bed.

If DP is staying over I sleep naked and warm my cold feet on him.

user1471481356 · 09/10/2020 21:25

I wear socks 24/7. I our clean ones on after my shower at night so there’s no hygiene issues with it!

megletthesecond · 09/10/2020 21:25

I wear bed socks. I certainly wouldn't wear the same socks as during the day.

DumpedOnFromGreatHeight · 09/10/2020 21:26

I like to put cream on my feet to stop the soles of my feet getting hard, then socks on after that.
