Going to bed with socks on (lighthearted)

DH says I'm weird and unhygienic for wearing socks in bed. Apparently no one else does it. Am I the odd one out?

Apparently there are no hygiene issues wearing the same boxers in bed that he has worn all day!

My feet are like blocks of ice 24/7 but I can't sleep with socks on. Once in a blue moon when I jump into bed with them on and accidentally fall asleep wearing them right through until morning I wake up feeling like I have a hangover - my head feels really fuzzy and I feel woozy - I've trialled and tested it and it was definitely linked to the all-nighter socks 😂

Used to be 1 pair of socks in Summer and 2 pairs in Winter but I'm getting plumper so went without socks this summer. I read once that the temperature of your feet is the temperature you feel!

I felt quite at home on this site until today. Socks in bed are an abomination!

I wear socks as little as possible. They come off whenever I'm in the house and only when it's really cold do i wear slippers (without socks obvs). I couldn't possibly sleep with socks on.

This. I hate socks with a passion and wear them reluctantly with shoes, but discard them as soon as I can when I get home. They make my feet feel suffocated

Yes this. I like my feet to be cold and I like to run my feet over cold cotton sheets. Can't bear anything on my feet in bed!

So I'm not completely weird then I actually don't like socks even in the day, but when it's cold I wear them to bed and take them off in the middle of the night if I get too warm.

I like to be cosy, and I roll myself into the duvet when fast asleep (much to DH's chagrin when I take too much of the duvet ).

I definitely need socks on in bed as well during the colder months. When I get too warm, apparently I take them off - I will only notice because I'll find them on the floor in the morning, I never remember actually taking any off.

I like a cool bedroom so don't have any heating on, but I like to be warm in bed. Small dog and cat do help, I use flannelette sheets, a couple of throws over the duvet, and wear whatever the temperature dicates. That often means thick fluffy Joules socks. Oh, the utter bliss of not sharing a room with another human - never, never again.

I don't understand this conversation! Are you cold? Wear socks. Are you warm? No socks. Simple!

I always go to bed in socks, and then experience the unparalleled feeling that is taking them off in a nice cool bed.

And I go to bed in the socks I've been wearing that day, so I'm unhygienic too 😏

Bed socks when needed - clean pair every time. I keep them in my bedside drawer so I can quickly get to them if I'm cold. Bollocks to expensive ones though, Primark do these 'Luxury Socks' at £3 for 2 pairs and they're great. They're nice and soft, wash well and they do last.

Gross to wear the socks you’ve been wearing all day to bed, but clean, fluffy bed socks are the the biz.

Like pp I always remove my socks at some point during the night. Butas for sleeping naked? Yeeuch. I also wear pants as since bring very young have had a fear of spiders crawling up my bum while I'm asleep. Cannot get to sleep without pants or pyjama bottoms on.

I have fluffy bed socks. I only wear slim socks during the day there's no heat in them.

I wear socks in bed. My feet get too cold otherwise.
