Going to bed with socks on (lighthearted)

DH says I'm weird and unhygienic for wearing socks in bed. Apparently no one else does it. Am I the odd one out?

Apparently there are no hygiene issues wearing the same boxers in bed that he has worn all day!

Boak! Sicks in bed is claustrophobic.

The only time that I can remember wearing them was when I had suspected swine flu and had that horrible shivery aching cold that comes with a fever.

But how do you self-regulate your temperature if not by sticking your bare feet out of the edge of the bed? Surely that wouldn't work with socks on?

I wear socks as little as possible. They come off whenever I'm in the house and only when it's really cold do i wear slippers (without socks obvs). I couldn't possibly sleep with socks on.

Twat. In the coldeet of weather, mine will remain on for 5min, then off, despiteelectric blanket.
I'm a naked girl in bed, can't bear being constrained.

The thought of socks in bed make me feel ill.

I got into the habit of socks in bed after reading warm feet are important for fertility. That's probably bollocks but I've come to love having cosy feet. I do put clean socks on before getting in bed though.

My mum’s friend and her mum (small, elderly woman from Orkney) were visiting our home one evening over the Christmas holidays and, as I was going to bed (I was no older than about 7), the friend’s mum piped up “If you sleep with socks on, you sleep with the devil.”

Never slept with socks on since.

I live by myself so I snuggle under the duvet naked. I have two large pillows either side of me to snuggle up with and I can't sleep without them.

You will get a ''ring mark'' round your ankles even if they are not tight if you wear them day and night for a long time - a sort of ''shadow '' mark that does not come off! I don't mean wearing the same pair all the time!
Your ankles will be ''unattractive'' - presuming they are ankle socks.

occasionally if my feet are cold I wear socks; very soft squidgy bedsocks, or alpaca day socks - although sometimes I use one of those microwave wheat bags.
I've got a heat pad too - not a full electric blanket, but sort of A5 size - great for feet or my back if I'm cold.

I always have a bath or shower before bed as I find the idea of wearing any clothes (including pants, socks etc.) that I've worn outside; to bed, kind of grose. I agree that worn-pants are worse than worn-socks though.

I can’t sleep without socks on. Even in the heatwave. Feel jumpy without them.

I never heat the bedroom and I keep the window open all year but is it's cold I have to wear a pair of socks, I have a few pairs from amenity packs from flights and they're both cozy and loose. Once my feet have warmed up I can wriggle them off.

I’ve got bed socks and also bed jumpers for when it’s really cold.
And I’ve always had thick ankles even when I was skinny so having unattractive ring marks doesn’t bother me 😁

If I don't wear socks in bed my feet get so cold they hurt and the pain travels up my legs. I do have reynaulds in my hands and I'm assuming my feet as well.

Even in Mexico I had to wear socks in bed.

Can't sleep if my feet are cold. Fluffy bed socks def required in winter, although I kick them off at some point in the night.

I can’t sleep without socks! It has to be really bloody hot for me to take them off. I wear clean bed socks every night. Can’t see how it’s unhygienic. Love a fluffy bed sock. :)

DH once went through a phase of sleeping badly and started wearing socks to bed, because apparently if you wake up in the night, you take the socks off and this helps you get back to sleep better.
I think he was trying to mimic the drop in body temperature you naturally get at nighttime.

I couldn't go to bed without a shower first anyway, but if I am cold, I wear (clean) socks.

Who cares as long as people are comfy!

Unless I wear some kind of pj bottoms, I wear (clean) pants too - but I still have young kids who might turn up in the middle of the night.

I couldn't sleep in socks, I love taking them off after a day at work (same with my bra). I think it's because I have hairy feet and my socks make the hairs lie in the opposite direction which hurts.

DP wears socks to bed always has done also changes his underwear before he gets into bed. I find it weird he can sleep in pants in all honesty!

One time he took his socks off for bed and accidentally rubbed his foot on mine 🤢. I hate his feet they're just gross and any feet in general! 😂
