I took out a credit card to buy one after spending years trying to curl my hair. It's arguably the best thing I have ever bought.

My hair doesn't stay curly, but it does stay bouncy and nice looking (as if it's been properly blow dried).

My hair is poker straight (not in a nice sleek way - just in a dead straight way). Used to be very thick, but became less so post pregnancy (and possibly due to peri-menopause). Hangs limply if I don't do anything with it. I wash it every 2-3 days - normally every two days, but can cope with every three days if I know I'm not going anywhere much. On the non-washing days, I re-curl it with the Airwrap, and it is not perfect, but far better than anything I've tried before (heated rollers, rags, straighteners, curly brush etc).

Long thick bet straight hair. Love it.

It's magical, get one.

Long, fine hair but lots of it and it's been my saviour with post menopausal hair.

Also on my list! Long fine, limp hair. Have tried one before and my hair ‘sleek’ (it never does!) and waves last all day

As someone who works in the hair industry, all of the Dyson styling range is an over priced gimmick

Shoulder length hair all one length. Neither curly nor straight, but a terrible frizzy type wave that looks like baby hair on a middle aged woman.

Airwrap transformed my hair - I use the straightening brushes and the curly bits - it doesn’t perfectly straighten but smooths the hair out well. Curls really well and smooths at the same time, like a PP said, bouncy and lively. (Although I have friends whose hair it doesn’t work in because their hair is heavy - mine’s not)

I love mine.

Forgot to say that my hair is a couple of inches below shoulder length.

Toughlove, I'm no fan of Dyson products (the vacuums are useless IME), but this one does work for my hair when nothing else has done. Of course, though, that doesn't mean it would for everyone.

Definitely not worth the price. I use it every time I wash my hair hoping it will miraculously work this time, but the curls never hold and drop after minutes.

I tried to send it back after a week but there was a problem with the courier. Because of the all the hassle, I decided to keep it in the hope I would get the gist of it in time. I know wish I'd have gone through with the return.

Didn't work for my fine thin hair. Sent it back within their 35 day period for a refund.

Not worth it. I have thick curly hair and ended up selling mine. Prefer my ghd straightners and rarely curl my hair any more

I'm struggling to understand why anyone would apply for a credit card just to buy a hair styling accessory.

Does it take lots of practice? I really want my hair to look freshly blow dried and have never been able to master it with a hairdryer. Straighteners leave my hair looking flat and for love nor money can I curl hair with straighteners.

Long thick wavy hair that used to take too long to dry, straighten/curl so I never used to bother, unless I had a special occasion and I’d book myself a blow dry.

Since getting the airwrap, it takes me half the time and because of the lower heat setting, my hair is so much shinier. It also holds really well.

Never spending £35 for a blow dry again

Mine is fine, but fair bit of hair. Kinda fuzzy if I don't blow dry. Neither straight or wavy.

It can be brittle so don't want too much heat.

I want a nice bouncy blow dry with a wave and volume. When I dry my hair it just ends up straight.

I sold mine as it did absolutely nothing for my hair. Lost a couple of hundred quid

Because I don't spend any money on anything else for myself, and was so sick of having rubbish hair, and didn't have the £400 odd going spare. I paid the credit card off over a couple of years.

I don't see why other people spend their money on fake nails or tanning or waxing or gyms or whatever. But I wouldn't criticise them for doing it, if it makes them feel better.

BTW, 'not too much heat' was another reason I bought it, OP. My hair was getting fried by being curled with straighteners, even decent ones and a lower temperature.

It depends on what you want it to do? Depends on what your hair texture is like and what you want the outcome to be.

Also, depends on what shampoo/conditioner and products you use in your hair. Because anything you buy at supermarket or boots etc is gonna be full of rubbish which in turn makes your hair look and feel rubbish. Kevin Murphy is my fav brand for product, if you tell me what your hair is like I can recommend.

My hair sounds like yours op and I love my airwrap. It's much less damaging then straightening or curling rods. I also like the babyliss big hair which is great for a bouncy blow dry. You could try that first perhaps if you're just after a bouncy blow dry look .

@IceniWarrior Do you use a lot of chemicals on your hair, such as bleaching? If not then Olaplex is quite unnecessary. Especially if you don't have an Olaplex stand alone treatment in salon. Olaplex is a re-bonding system which if over used can make the hair more brittle. Sounds like you might need some extra moisture. I would recommend Angel Wash, and Hydrate Me Rinse. A lighter shampoo that is going to cleanse without stripping, and a nice hydrating shampoo.

I would recommend you get a good hairdryer, my fav is Parlux, and you rough dry your hair then use brush just to smooth it. That way you can use the air to direct the cuticle of the hair down. If you want to curl use a hot tool such as a Diva wand, or Cloud 9 curl pod ( can't remember the actual name but its heated rollers and a pod system). But make sure you are using a good heat protector, a nice blow dry cream or oil with heat protection will do!

I love it! It’s changed the condition of my hair it’s so much more healthy and less split ends. I haven’t had to use my hair straighteners this year.

I've got a Toni and Guy deep waver which is like a giant crimped. The waves stay in until I wash it and I just do one 'wave' at the ends of my hair. It was £17.

I love mine and the hairdryer attachment is brilliant too. I got mine on interest free credit through PayPal and haven't regretted it.
My hair is fairly fine and it gives it good bounce.
