If you could leave your hair type please.

I have some highlights a few times a year, and they use it then, and a root colour in between, or pull through.

Toughlove, I tried the curl pod thing, too, and it was hopeless on my hair!

Gertie75 · 09/10/2020 20:38

I'm not impressed with mine, I bought it because I've lost a lot of hair due to menopause and wanted to look after what's remaining plus the new hairs.
It's past my shoulders and fine, straight and prone to frizz.

The air wrap dries it OK but the brush attachment lifts the shorter hairs so they stick up and the curls don't last more than half an hour.

I used to use it to dry my daughters hair which is long and thick but it takes much longer than a normal hairdryer.

I'm very disappointed as I really wanted to love it.

Ponoka7 · 09/10/2020 20:43

Buy it from QVC, then you can try it for thirty days. They often do instalment plans.

WhiskersPete · 09/10/2020 20:50

Try the Revlon One Step for a self blow dry. It's a game changer

MoreToExplore · 09/10/2020 20:50

Didn’t work on my hair sadly. Really thick, long, fine-ish wavy frizzy hair that’s impossible to get looking groomed/polished.

Bought it for the smoothing brushes, but they just didn’t straighten it, and left it feeling and looking very fuzzy.

Bought direct from Dyson so returned within the period (think it’s 35 days) after loads of experimentation.

LuaDipa · 09/10/2020 20:56

Love mine. I have fine hair in a relatively short bob and mainly use the round brush attachment. My dd has long but quite fine hair and she loves to curl her hair and also uses the ‘flat’ brush to dry it quickly before bed. It’s perfect for both of us.

I was told to get one, good to see a recommendation!
IceniWarrior · 09/10/2020 21:13

I don't know what to go for! Dyson is expensive and not sure DH will be impressed, but better than the £2k emerald studs I dream off and won't ever get!

Did look at big hair on you tube. Need to look at Revelon.

I like mine. I’m rubbish doing my hair and impatient too.

IceniWarrior · 09/10/2020 21:30

Impatient? Is it quick? I wash my hair and dry it an hour later and get bored after 20 minutes.

Yes it's quick, I can go from wet to dry in ten minutes when I section my hair in three.
lioncitygirl · 09/10/2020 21:33

Revlon and Babyliss are a lot better.

LilaButterfly · 09/10/2020 21:39

Very fine, wavy hair.
Airwrap is amazing, gives me volume and leaves my hair curly or wavy without frizz.
It does take quite a while to style though. Takes me at least 45mins and i dont have a lot of hair.

IceniWarrior · 09/10/2020 21:39

What is the difference between Revlon and Bayliss?

OP posts:
CrocodileFondue · 09/10/2020 21:40

I have one and I love it! It makes doing my hair so much quicker and actually looks good for a change! My hair feels bouncy, sleek and light, like it's an actual style instead of just dangling from my head.

I do need to practice more as I haven't mastered the curls yet Blush but just the dryer and the brushes are amazing in my opinion.

Even DH is impressed and that takes a lot when it comes to anything hair related!!

CrocodileFondue · 09/10/2020 21:42

I used to use GHD's but the process of drying and then straightening is much longer whereas with the air wrap you can just give it a quick dry and finish drying while styling.

MrsPerfect12 · 09/10/2020 21:44

I love mine. I have fine hair but tonnes of it. It's below my shoulders.
If you order from dyson or qvc you can return if it doesn't work for you.
There's a group on FB with lots of tips. I spray each curl as I go and wait until my full head is done and cooled before I pull it through.

user1471548941 · 09/10/2020 21:47

I have fine, flyaway hair but a lot of it with a very slight wave. I use the brush attachment to dry most morning. 7 minutes from wet to looking like I have blowdried it straight, very sleek looking and tames the flyaways.

I’m getting better with the curling attachment, I’m not so good with a proper set curls but I can go from wet to dry with a nice wave effect that lasts all day with a bit of hairspray in about 20 mins. Before I would have spent 20 mins drying and then another 30 curling.

I use it every time I wash my hair and now can’t believe how slightly scruffy I think my hair looks without it!

CarrieBlue · 09/10/2020 22:31

I won’t buy any Dyson products at all, he doesn’t deserve a penny of my money when he’s had quite enough of my taxes.

Bootikin · 09/10/2020 22:53

Quietly gobsmacked that people don’t find these factors a dealbreaker- (1) their hoovers are shit (2) he’s a brexit arsehole who has pullled jobs and taxes from U.K. and moved everything to Singapore!

But all people can talk about is blowdrys! Does no one care about stoics or anything???

Bootikin · 09/10/2020 22:54

Sorry Carrieblue, totally agree!

jackstini · 09/10/2020 23:23

Does anyone have pics of hair done with an air wrap?

@ToughLoveLDN
my hair is not very thick, just past shoulders and if left to dry naturally (lots at the moment!) it's neither wavy nor straight

I want it to be shiny and either bouncy waves/curls or flippy straight

Have GHDs (work well enough but frazzle ends) and a really old Revlon big hair that's works ok.
Had a babyliss curl secret that seems faffy and a curling wand

Hair not mega damaged but I have roots done every 5 weeks or so to cover grey and it's usually tinted metallic rose gold (needs doing - pic attached)!

Been doing bathrobe belt waves recently...

JukeBoxHero · 09/10/2020 23:38

DD has one. She loves it, I hate it.

I have long thick hair. If I straighten it with the airwrap it's frizzy within the hour, if I curl it they drop out fairly quickly.
I tried to dry my hair with it once as well and though it was a lot quieter I swapped to my trusty £20 hairdryer after feeling I was getting nowhere with the Dyson.

IceniWarrior · 10/10/2020 07:40

What are bathrobe belt waves?
