The one that took her 4 hours to book.

She was number 7327 in the queue despite being online at 8.00.02am in the day tests were released after Covid..Shock

No aliens, volcanoes or wrong type of snow involved. Grin

Gwan guess.

@Audreyseyebrows

Ah cross post. They aren’t great when reversing tbh.
Yes, I’ve just checked and apparently they don’t give the examiner good all round vision.
RevolutionRadio · 09/10/2020 17:02

Oh and one test my driving instructor didn't come to pick me up when she said she would. She had forgotten about it. That time I was not happy!

ThatDamnScientist · 09/10/2020 17:02

Was just going to watch thread because I would like to know, however watch thread won't work for me. So in the spirit of the thread I will have a guess...

She forgot she had booked it, so didn't turn up??

BrumBoo · 09/10/2020 17:03

I’d be pitching a fit- going full Karen over this I’m afraid

@Pumpertrumper, its bad enough arsehole, misogynistic men use the Karen bull on women, without women using it on themselves. Come on, ffs.

ChaosTrulyReigns · 09/10/2020 17:03

I'm here sorry. Real life beckoned.

I agree. Made my teeth itch reading it. Time's up on that phrase.
borageforager · 09/10/2020 17:04

Dusty dashboard??

UnaCorda · 09/10/2020 17:05

Because her mother was playing interminable guessing games on mumsnet and made her late?

yellowmaoampinball · 09/10/2020 17:06

I thought it would be that. The car needs to be clean inside cos of covid, it's caught a few people out.

Blueraccoon · 09/10/2020 17:07

Oh dear you can write your name on mine 😬

dayswithaY · 09/10/2020 17:07

That wasn't worth the wait.

Ouch, that's mean! How bloody dusty could it be? I bought a (second hand but still fairly new) car recently, as soon as I put the fans on it blew months of dust everywhere! Should I return on the bases of the sneezing?

My first driving test, the examiner was in a mood. Thought he wasn't going to let me out because the L plates weren't on straight enough in his opinion Hmm.

yellowmaoampinball · 09/10/2020 17:10

The surfaces on the inside of the car should be cleaned before test - it's a condition of the test at the moment. If the dashboard is dusty then it clearly hasn't been cleaned.

Bathroom12345 · 09/10/2020 17:11

Actually same here. Theory test centre (in Reading) relocated and DS googled the wrong address. He turned up to the correct place 15 mins late but happily they let him sit it!

Apparently it was a common occurence

Osirus · 09/10/2020 17:12

That’s a shame OP. She must have been really upset.

I can see their point though, re: being cleaned.

Bathroom12345 · 09/10/2020 17:13

Couldnt start the car and had lost the keys?

PuppyMonkey · 09/10/2020 17:14

So, couldn’t somebody just have dusted it then? Or does it have to be COVID secure dusting these days?Confused

Bathroom12345 · 09/10/2020 17:15

We cleaned the car before the test. For luck and to show some respect to the person getting in. Who wants to sit in a scummy car which hasnt been cleaned for months! If it was that dusty then sadly I think he was right to fail.

HollowTalk · 09/10/2020 17:16

My daughter's test was cancelled when the examiner crashed his car, coming into work that day. His fault Grin

Bathroom12345 · 09/10/2020 17:17

You can take a test in your own car. It doesnt have to be the instructor's. My DS did a few weeks ago.

nevermorelenore · 09/10/2020 17:19

Dusty Dashboard sounds like the name of a 70s kids tv entertainer.

PuppyMonkey · 09/10/2020 17:22

Dusty Dashboard and his sidekick Dirty Skirting.Grin

Plussizejumpsuit · 09/10/2020 17:24

Was it her car or the instructors?

iklboo · 09/10/2020 17:26

Dust in the air vent (genuine reason an instructor friend of DH's had a test cancelled on his pupil).

Dirt on the pedals (also true)

Flat / unroadworthy tyre.

iklboo · 09/10/2020 17:27

Oops. Sorry, missed the update.
