YABU - in the morning, before work
YANBU - in the evening, after work

I am trying to work out when I would have the most success at committing to a plan!

Always after work. I have too much to do in the morning.

HundredMilesAnHour · 06/10/2020 19:18

I get up at 5am to exercise before work. It's the only way I can be sure that work won't get in the way (late meetings, work emergencies etc)

BananaLlamaConCalma · 06/10/2020 19:18

In the morning. Can't vote on mobile.

It needs to be what works for you. However things I have noticed are:

Morning sets you up for the day

Evening gives you all day to talk yourself out of it

Have you been to the gym in the evening? Mine is packed and full of those dickheads who stand there flexing! Morning people mean business and are kind to everyone.

BananaLlamaConCalma · 06/10/2020 19:19

P.s I also get up at 5am to ensure it gets done!

devildeepbluesea · 06/10/2020 19:19

Whenever I can I do it in the morning. But I'd do it in the afternoon/ evening if I had to.

Lunch time!

Soulstirring · 06/10/2020 19:20

I’m a morning person, I find after a busy day at work I’m not motivated enough

Ineverdidmind · 06/10/2020 19:20

Morning. If I leave it until after work I won't do it! I always feel so tired by the end of work.
I didn't used to be able to squeeze it in before work due to an hours commute, but now I'm working from home I can.

Doingitaloneandproud · 06/10/2020 19:21

I can't vote but morning for me, alarm goes off at 4:15, head to the gym then back ready for work. can't train at night, the motivation isn't there lol

NoWordForFluffy · 06/10/2020 19:22

As soon as I get up. I wouldn't go after work!

SchrodingersImmigrant · 06/10/2020 19:22

I am NOT a morning person so the idea of actually moving, having shower etc is just..🤮

Evening before dinner works best for me. But then you must find what works for you personally because this is really individual.

ErrolTheDragon · 06/10/2020 19:22

Morning if possible, partly because I prefer doing it before eating.

swampytiggaa · 06/10/2020 19:23

I prefer before work but I now start at 5am so no way am I getting up to exercise before that 😂😂

Fortunately I finish by about 10 so generally do a run when I get home 🙂

wontletmelogin · 06/10/2020 19:23

After. I would love to get it done before but my output isn’t as good. I need food and caffeine to achieve better so I tend to do it in the evening or late morning if a day off

Jujuball · 06/10/2020 19:24

Morning for me. I'm really not a morning person but feel so much better for it when I drag myself to the gym for 6.30am! I'm always shattered after work and the gym is too busy then.

yellowmaoampinball · 06/10/2020 19:24

Yes exactly what bananallama said. I am a morning person anyway and I definitely end up talking myself out of it if I leave it till after work. Running in particular gives me a great endorphin rush/boost of energy to start the day with too.

MozzchopsThirty · 06/10/2020 19:28

After work, I much prefer the extra time lying in bed in the morning

Kimblebee19 · 06/10/2020 19:36

Pre-baby it was Mornings for me, I'm not a morning person but I find I'd be too tired after work, too easy to sack it off. Plus I'm tired in the mornings regardless, but once I'm going it's fine! I also find it sets the day off nicely, feel like I've already done something with my day rather than just dragging myself to work (plus it was quality time with DH), gave me more energy and more motivation to then eat well in the day, and still gives me my evenings free to relax. With the added bonus of even very hard workouts kind of feeling like a distant dream by lunchtime :)

Before Covid - before work (gym at 6.30, work by 9am)
During Covid - after work (finish work at 5.30, gym by 6pm)

andIdidntliketheending · 06/10/2020 19:56

@YolandiFuckinVisser

Lunch time!
Oooh, curve ball! Sadly I don't get much of a lunchtime!

This is so true @BananaLlamaConCalma

5am crew, what time do you go to bed? I just can't imagine ever feeling awake enough at 5am to exercise and then not be wiped for the day even if I went to bed at 9.30
