YABU - in the morning, before work
YANBU - in the evening, after work

I am trying to work out when I would have the most success at committing to a plan!

In the middle of the day at lunch time. I have two young kids so evenings are sacred to me abs I don’t want to be doing exercise then!

After, I'm not good without breakfast and caffeine first! Also always worry about needing the loo if i go out early. I quite lunchtime which is one of the few perks of working from home.

I low carb and never have breakfast before I exercise. So I can have tea at 7pm then sleep, train and then eat at 11am. You just get used to it, I much prefer exercising whilst 'empty' then having my eggs and protein shake afterwards when I've earned it!

I run 4 times per week at 6am. It’s so much easier when it’s quieter, although you do see the same few people out and about. I go to the gym a few times a week when DC is swim training. DH goes to the gym in the evening so I tend not to go then.

Both.
Up at 6 for a run every morning then an hour walk in the evening after work.

piglet81 · 07/10/2020 22:20

Neither these days. Stupid council hasn’t managed to reopen the gym or pool since lockdown. I used to go for a 6am swim twice a week, then still get the train to the office early enough to have a lovely breakfast and coffee in peace before starting work, while DH actually did some parenting. Not like these days of working from home / living at work...

TheSoapyFrog · 07/10/2020 22:21

Well I don't anymore thanks to kids, but I used to get up extra early, go to the gym, have breakfast there and walk to work. I liked getting it out of the way and having the whole evening free.

Updownin · 07/10/2020 22:23

Lunchtime for me too. 2 days I take a longer lunch to do it and weekends it's morning( but not early) or late afternoon.

I don’t work, but I’m a sahm and DH works. I go to the pool or gym on a morning and am back before DH has to leave for work at 8.30. Our pool has slots and if I get up at 6.30 I can make the 7am prebooked slot and home by 8.15ish I’m too tired on an evening and DH isn’t home usually til 6pm or later, which is then dinner bath and bed for the kids. DH prefers to exercise on an evening so it works out well for us.

Pre kids I went in my way home from work. I had a long commute though so no way was I getting up any earlier. I think my ideal would be morning, but not too early haha. Sadly real life doesn’t allow for that routine
