Trump - I seriously have no words

Trump, talking about COVID-19 on the news just now - “Don’t be afraid of it, don’t let it dominate you“
How fucking offensive to the millions of people who are suffering, who have died, their families, people who have lost their jobs, their livelihoods, their homes.

I don’t know why I am surprised, the man is an utter prick, but for some reason this latest sound bite has just enraged me. AIBU?

I dont believe he ever had Covid. He's a reckless thoughtless coward who is a disgrace to the position he was elected to. If anyone on here is from the US or living in the US, how do you feel about re electing him as president in November?

pumpkinpie01 · 06/10/2020 09:11

@MarshaBradyo I really think you could be right , the man is nuts I wouldn't put anything past him .

JenniferSantoro · 06/10/2020 09:25

You can’t cure stupid. I’m supposed to meet my MIL next week After not seeing her for ten months. She’s now saying she doesn’t need to wear a mask, she’s immune and she’s had her flu jab and pneumonia jab so she’ll be fine.

knittingaddict · 06/10/2020 09:29

@UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername

This is the worst possible outcome from his illness.
I wouldn't count on it. Lots of reports that he seemed to be struggling to breathe and despite the gung ho attitude it's early days in CV terms.
OutwiththeOutCrowd · 06/10/2020 09:30

What's clear is that he's had the best medical attention, but he won't be factoring this in when judging the little people who, from his perspective, haven't grappled so manfully with the enemy.

OutwiththeOutCrowd · 06/10/2020 09:32

The doctors wouldn't be drawn on the state of his lungs so it's quite possible he's struggling behind the scenes with his breathing.

knittingaddict · 06/10/2020 09:36

@AmandaHoldensLips

I've spent quite a lot of time in the US and have absolutely no intention of going back if I can help it. It's a scary, scary place. Make no mistake - they might speak a version of English, but that's as far as the similarities go.
I agree. We've been to the US twice and I don't think I will ever go back again. It's tech might be modern, but it's attitudes are a couple of centuries out of date.
Dahlietta · 06/10/2020 09:37

Fake news Wink

Strawberrycreamsundae · 06/10/2020 09:38

Interesting that he won’t say when he last had a negative test. He’s so repugnant, in everything he does, and the fact that so many Americans seem to worship the ground he walks on and can’t see what an utter twerp he is completely baffles me.
Never have I disliked anyone as much as him and in many ways I pity the USA for being led by such an illiterate imbecile.

Iwasonceabrownie · 06/10/2020 09:43

If you watch him carefully you will see he is having trouble breathing. He is an idiot to be out of hospital and back infecting others.

HMSSophie · 06/10/2020 09:45

I'm still hoping he dies tbh

StripyHorse · 06/10/2020 09:48

I don't wish illness on anyone but I find myself almost hoping he does find his condition takes a dip again.

His comment about getting the best drugs has really given me the rage especially when 2 of them are experimental. Most people don't get the luxury of that much medical care - the fact he doesn't seem to comprehend that shows what a self centred arsehole he is, and the quicker he is voted out of the White House the better!

BleepingSausages · 06/10/2020 09:52

I wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t actually have it but orchestrated the charade so he could respond to it in this manner.

StripyHorse · 06/10/2020 09:52

@HmsSophie really? I want to see him improve, be thoroughly investigated over his tax, Russian links etc and face the consequences. Seeing him behind bars would be so satisfying, especially knowing how much it would hurt his ego!

knittingaddict · 06/10/2020 09:53

There is a full medical centre in the White House. It's not like he's going back to his semi on a housing estate to sleep it off on the sofa. I imagine he has more freedom in the White House to act like the dictator he is and put his staff at risk. Considering the cocktail of drugs he has had he looked ill to me, so the next few days should be interesting.

I think the best that can happen is that he becomes very ill and that it's a wake up call to his fans. Despite my personal feelings I think his death would be too destabilising for the country.

Londonnight · 06/10/2020 09:54

I watched him on BBC news this morning and he is obviously having trouble breathing, so I wouldn't be surprised if he soon becomes very ill, plus infecting everyone around him.

He is a complete idiot, I have no idea how people voted him in and I hope he really doesn't get in for a second term.

AnyFucker · 06/10/2020 09:55

It looked like the driver of his car during the cavalcade thingy had an FFP3 mask on so if he makes sure to change his clothes and shower immediately he should be ok. Also the car will have to be fully cleaned.

Not really the point though. The man (Trump) is a fucking megalomaniac. The video of him shows clearly he is short of breath. He chooses his words carefully as he can't talk a full sentence.

The man is ill. I don't think he is faking Covid but he sure is a fake in all other aspects.

Fizbosshoes · 06/10/2020 09:55

I cant believe someone this dumb, infantile, offensive and obnoxious is one of the most powerful men in the world. It's scary.

MadameBrioche · 06/10/2020 09:56

Did anyone see the video of him returning triumphantly back to the White House by helicopter. WTF?!?!?!?

Everywherethatmarywent · 06/10/2020 09:58

@OutwiththeOutCrowd

The doctors wouldn't be drawn on the state of his lungs so it's quite possible he's struggling behind the scenes with his breathing.
This. He was trying to control his breathing whilst giving his statement. He still isn’t out of the woods.
hippohector · 06/10/2020 10:00

”If you watch him carefully you will see he is having trouble breathing”

Maybe.. or maybe not. It could just be an act to make his story look plausible. I wouldn’t put anything past that man.

But regardless of whether he has it or doesn’t have it, his comments are completely outrageous.

If he has it - well lucky for him that he is in such a privileged position to receive the best medical care and drugs and is able to overcome a virus that has killed millions. Not everyone is that fortunate. Downplaying the severity of the virus just because he is lucky enough to have all this specialist care is just Insulting.

If he doesn’t have it and it is indeed a very well planned, well managed publicity stunt - total disrespect for those who have died and suffered.

Either way, he is a dangerous man and an utter disgrace to the position he holds.

OP posts:
cannotchange · 06/10/2020 10:01

He's mentally ill. I think he's got it, he was short of breath on that video he made from the hospital.

He's not out of the woods yet - if the timeline is correct - who knows what the actual truth is

Port1aCastis · 06/10/2020 10:03

I think he's bullshitting for the sympathy vote and it's all a PR stunt

SJK34 · 06/10/2020 10:04

There are people on here every day mocking those who are fearful or anxious. Yes, it’s a bit different for the president of the US to do it but there is plenty of vitriol here as well.

GabsAlot · 06/10/2020 10:08

I agree now all his followers will think hes the secind coming or thik they will all have it as mild as him which is dangerous
