Just found out that Billie Piper doesn't share social/political views as her ex H

I just assumed that she shared similar views as that silly man. I am not sure what attracted her to him; she seems pretty level headed and clued up.

I googled her as I saw a movie featuring her and I wanted to watch it but wouldn't have watched it if she was anything like that Lawrence/Laurence, or whatever he's called. I really dislike the man and his face, and unfairly, I had lumbered Bilie with him despite them being separated.

But I can't imagine marrying and having kids with someone who is on a completely different wavelength on such important issues.

I guess there's no aibu but had me reflect if he was always like this/only become like what he is after the divorce.

I would hate to parent with someone with views like him. I would be worried what he's teaching my children all types of intolerance. Plus he's just not very bright.

I'm glad 'Lozza' as he calls himself is boycotting Sainsbos.

Means I shan't bump into him.
Win Win!

Sainsbury's: Please don't shop here if you're racist and upset by Black History Month

Lozza: OK I won't!. I boycott Sainsburys!

Smileyaxolotl1 Totally agree, it is soooo irritating..

isadoradancing123 · 04/10/2020 17:50

He is entitled to his views, its not racist and he is probably fed up of the so called wokke movement as many people are

Smileyaxolotl1 · 04/10/2020 17:52

thepeople
I think there’s a difference between ‘cancelling’ ie stopping An individual getting work/firing them as we have seen happen to some gc women recently and boycotting ie not shopping or using a large company and encouraging others to do the same. Also Sainsbury’s actually encouraged people to boycott them if they didn’t like their stance on race issues. (In which they admitted they have an ethnicity pay gap and also said they were establishing segregated spaces)

Aridane · 04/10/2020 17:52

Would you really not watch a film/TV programme you wanted to see if you disagreed with the actors’ political points of view?

To be honest, I’m not sure I would be that interested in seeing a film I which a distinctly mediocre actor had a starring role.

Roussette · 04/10/2020 17:54

Errrmmmm boycotting Sainsburys because of this is pretty racist in my book

See picture.

Aridane · 04/10/2020 17:55

I'm disappointed the OP assumed a woman held the same political views as her husband, regardless of what they are

Ditto

sst1234 · 04/10/2020 17:55

But what has he said thats racist? Can someone explain, genuinely perplexed as to why has had acquired this label.

EddyF · 04/10/2020 17:55

@JellyFishSquish

So surprised at the hate here.

This is just another type of cancel culture. People have opinions. They may not match up with yours. Get over it.

I don’t need to cancel him as it would mean I actually supported/liked him. There’s nothing to ‘cancel’. He’s a non factor to me, really. It was more Billie I was interested in, and wanted to check her views.

@Tana433

I dont question his mental health, he just doesnt have some of the same views as me. However, i completly dont think he is racist. He is just fed up of the "woke" brigade and, frankly arent we all?
YES YES YES to this...bloody WOKES!
Runmybathforme · 04/10/2020 17:56

I don’t think he’s racist, he’s just sick of the ‘ woke ‘ culture. As to custody battles, no one knows what went on there. Why so much hate on here ?

Emmapeeler2 · 04/10/2020 17:56

What has any of this got to do with Billie Piper? They divorced years ago and she is anyway a different person.

Aridane · 04/10/2020 17:56

Good for Sainsbury’s !

Inkpaperstars · 04/10/2020 17:57

It think it is wrong to ever assume that someone must share political views with their spouse or partner tbh. They might but to assume so is a bit naive. Many couples have quite different views.

LittleRa · 04/10/2020 17:57

@Aridane

To be honest, I’m not sure I would be that interested in seeing a film I which a distinctly mediocre actor had a starring role.

It’s not about their acting ability though. Obviously no one wants to watch a film starring someone they think is a distinctly mediocre actor. But you can disagree with their personal political beliefs and still think they’re a talented actor. (I am not saying L Fox is either of these- talented actor or agreeable views!)
Smileyaxolotl1 · 04/10/2020 17:58

Rousette
It wouldn’t occur to me to boycott them but I think people are fed up with this kind of virtue signalling.
Sainsbury’s are a supermarket, they should get on with selling stuff while also ensuring their pay policies, staffing structure etc are not discriminatory.

rainkeepsfallingdown · 04/10/2020 17:58

To be fair, people's views do change.

I would be horrified if people judged me for the way my exes think. I broke up with them; they are not my responsibility. I have had no influence on how their views have shaped since I fell out of their lives.

Fucket · 04/10/2020 17:59

I don’t watch films by Hollywood creeps like Woody Allen. And I refuse to watch modern Star Wars films because of the way they pander to China’s racist demands. But I don’t tell other people to follow suit.

I refuse to visit Dubai and support their economy which is built on the backs of slave labour.

Absolutely I applaud anyone for following through with their convictions. I just hate people demanding otherS do the same.

StrandedStarfish · 04/10/2020 17:59

Why would she? I’m a labour supporter who married a Tory.

022828MAN · 04/10/2020 18:01

What exactly do you disagree with him about?
And as if you were going to avoid a film with her in if she didn't share the same political view as you. That's pathetic.

HeresMe · 04/10/2020 18:01

Black history month for Sainsbury's is about advertising, they don't care about what colour skin you are as long as you buy shit.

The problem is crying racism all the time doesnt help, rather than actually have a discussion but most people don't want that.

Fucket · 04/10/2020 18:02

Virtual signalling by supermarkets and other corporations imo is a lazy-arsed way of trying to score points with consumers. When I actually doubt those on the board give a shit if it’s black history month or pride month etc. They do it in the hopes it will make consumers spend more money and has nothing to do with changing anything.

It’s empty and hollow and makes me less likely to spend money with them. People should not be fooled into believing these large organisations actually care.

queenofknives · 04/10/2020 18:03

Okay but wtf have Sainsburys got to do with Black History Month? What are they going to tell us about black history? I mean, are they actually providing some kind of educational resources? Even if they are, I don't really want Sainsburys to teach me anything, do you? It's a fucking supermarket. I do understand people getting pissed off with the relentless corporate wokery.

Roussette · 04/10/2020 18:03

Smiley
It wouldn’t occur to me to boycott them

Exactly.
Yet he, Lozza, who is whipping everyone up to join his posh UKIP, has a voice and decides to boycott them because they support Black History Month.

TeaSoakedDisasterMagnet · 04/10/2020 18:03

It’s not hard to think that Billie Piper probably had pretty solid reasons to divorce him, and it’s not without the realms of possibility that his awful racism and egotistical behaviour were part of the reason.

Iknowthingsthatwillhappen · 04/10/2020 18:05

I once had an MP reply to me, saying that they would not answer my questions as they were familiar with my husbands views. I was outraged and wrote back saying that I had my own views, thank you very much.......... (had no reply....). Why on earth OP should Billie hold the same views as her husband?
