I'm single, never get invited anywhere by friends, so I thought what the hell!

Would it look weird?

Why would it look weird?

nolovelost · 04/10/2020 14:08

Because people might think 'what a loner!'

But I am!

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 04/10/2020 14:09

Nope. I do it all the time. It's fab Smile

CrazyOldBagLady · 04/10/2020 14:09

No I've done it on business trips, I just take a book or something for in between courses, relax and enjoy.

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 04/10/2020 14:10

I savour the food and haven't got two fucks to give what the other diners are thinking .....

Cantbutwill · 04/10/2020 14:10

Do it! Nobody else would care, they would probably be envious!

burntpinky · 04/10/2020 14:10

No. I went to Boston and cape cod by myself for 2 weeks in 2012 as I was single and wanted to go but none of my friends had enough holiday left. Are out by myself every night. Sometimes felt a bit awks but glad I did it as am a real foodie and would’ve missed out on some wonderful meals otherwise

notangelinajolie · 04/10/2020 14:11

Do it! Nobody will notice you.

cheesecadet · 04/10/2020 14:11

@NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace really?!! I like you!

I just wondered if people do it, and clearly they do. Was thinking of a pint and nice meal and back home. Might even meet someone!!

OP posts:
AlwaysLatte · 04/10/2020 14:12

It's fine! I've done it. But you say you haven't been invited anywhere. Maybe people who like you have a similar mindset so also try asking a friend along?

SchrodingersImmigrant · 04/10/2020 14:14

People do it all the time. Do you remember seeing anyone eating alone and thinking they are a loser? I bet the answer is no. This is the same amount of fucks people will give about you eating alone. None.

nolovelost · 04/10/2020 14:15

All my friends are single and aren't interested in meeting up away from their partners!

doadeer · 04/10/2020 14:16

No I often ear by myself! Nothing wrong with it. Enjoy!!

cheesecadet · 04/10/2020 14:19

That's a shame nobody would notice me, can't have it both ways I suppose! Grin

😂 If you want to be noticed, may I recommend some noticeable attire? You would be noticed but really not for dining alone bit. Win win😂

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 04/10/2020 14:24

@cheesecadet

Ah, people will notice you so don't worry about that – you're not invisible – but only if there's any good to come out of the noticing.

What I'm trying to say is that yes: you might meet someone and that might be cool. But, if not – on this occasion – then you've had a fab meal and a lovely time with you Smile

Enjoy.

Holdingtherope · 04/10/2020 14:25

I'm in Manchester if you are in that area. I'll join ya!

Needhelp101 · 04/10/2020 14:26

I do this all the time! The papers, wine and a nice meal - heaven.

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 04/10/2020 14:26

@SchrodingersImmigrant

I went to work dressed pretty much like that last week. It was fun and the job still got done Grin

WhatInFreshHell · 04/10/2020 14:27

Go for it! I do it quite often, I just take a good book on my Kindle, a few glasses of wine and a nice meal. It's lovely.

DressesWithPocketsRockMyWorld · 04/10/2020 14:27

Absolutely not! I broke up with a boyfriend many years ago and went and stayed in Edinburgh on my own for a week. Went out for dinner every night on my own it was lovely. I took a book and my iPod. Lovely.

I really want something like that now!

missmouse101 · 04/10/2020 14:28

I do this now and again and I absolutely love it. Of course do it op!

Lilybet1980 · 04/10/2020 14:30

I love eating out on my own! Only ever get to do it at when I’m away with work though which sadly won’t be happening for quite some time.
