I got demons- they'd be better marketed as knitted pumpkins for Halloween

GinWithASplashOfTonic · 03/10/2020 23:20

Got the scary factor too

To be fair there are lots of designs (Christmas puddings, Rudolph) but I just can’t get why you’d want to put a knitted cover on a chocolate orange...?! Confused
manicinsomniac · 03/10/2020 23:28

igotdemobs I did actually buy a knitted penguin chocolate orange cover from a charity craft fair last year. My sister loves penguins and loves chocolate oranges so it seemed like a better stocking filler than just a chocolate orange in its box.

Essentially useless though, I agree. Just quite cool, one off packaging, I thought.

Cocolapew · 03/10/2020 23:35

Good grief that anorexic snowman is, um, interesting Confused

Sewrainbow · 03/10/2020 23:37

I like the knitted veg, especially the sprouts, they're cute.

A lady in our village makes them. I bought her crochet mince pies too. Hers look very professional and they have beaded eyes which are better than paper.

They are not tat but made with skill if not to everyone's taste.

Knitted sprouts anyone?
These are cute!

I LOVE this thread!

Clevererthanyou · 04/10/2020 00:01

I was asked by my sons school to make knitted chocolate orange covers for them to sell at their Christmas fete and they sold the lot! I’ve had family members ask me for them too, maybe it’s the cute factor?

changing35 · 04/10/2020 00:22

following for the entertainment value.

I expect the see lots of these as people try and make themselves some extra ££ in the current climate. However I cant see many people buying for the same reason.

Pricklylittlecactus · 04/10/2020 00:38

🤣

I would buy it if it was £240 cheaper for my bookclub secret Santa shit with a limit of £5 spend.
BritWifeinUSA · 04/10/2020 04:53

You’ll be “thrilled” to know that such tat and crap is not just reserved for the UK. Here’s the west coast of the USA’s contribution.

I looked at my marketplace pages and disappointedly everything was tasteful Sad mostly handmade wooden stuff.
I shall continue my quest for tat.

MahMahMahMahCorona · 04/10/2020 09:39

@igotdemons - that's hideous too! Grinch babies all round 🤢
