To ask if giving a false phone number is a thing?

Went to a cafe with a friend, we sat outside but she was asked for her phone number. Once we sat down, she admitted that she always gives a false number and so does everyone she knows.

Is this really a common thing? I haven't been in places very much but have always given my number when asked.

Oh, her parents now?

Honestly, you can buy herbal supplements to help you deal with random anger. Or the Headspace app is good.

Is it just being on Mumsnet for too long that makes people think this kind of abuse is normal?!

Boobissue · 02/10/2020 08:02

Whatever @ClarencesMum, you continue lying, your justified as it's only a couple of digits, so only a teeny weeny sort of lie.

If you and all the others think they are justified, for whatever reasons, they really shouldn't complain at the spread and any of their closest people being unwell. They've aided the spread and been happy with that.

Potterpotterpotter · 02/10/2020 08:02
@Potterpotterpotter but you don't care about getting COVID or your friends or family getting COVID, so why are you bothered?

You're friends and family are not in the at risk category.

You are happy to actually spread COVID, because you don't have anyone that it will make really ill?

Moral high ground you are in is in the gutter.
I didn’t try and stand on any moral high ground though unlike you. I admitted I give a false number.
I also don’t actually wish people get covid or get ill or die. That’s all on you wishing people actually get covid.

Least own what you say.

ClarencesMum · 02/10/2020 08:03

I was not justifying my lying by saying I changed a couple of digits! Are you hard of thinking?

EarlGreyJenny · 02/10/2020 08:04

It never fails to surprise me what selfish, stupid twats some people are.

And now we're criticising people's parents?

Bloody hell. Look at what you've become!

Janevaljane · 02/10/2020 08:05

Not giving your number doesn't mean you are spreading covid, or not does giving it protect anyone.

You don't give your number in the supermarket, do you assume you are going to infect your family and die every time you go there?

Boobissue · 02/10/2020 08:05

Oh, her parents now?

WTF are you on about @Janevaljane

Yeah it makes people angry that others are lying and spreading the virus, I think that's justifiable.

And yes, if I had a friend or family lying like this, I'd be telling them the same, with the same level of anger.

It's not a rule for some, it's a rule for all!

Boobissue · 02/10/2020 08:07

@ClarencesMum I didn't mention anyone's parents, pay attention!

I'm assuming that your snippy comment was meant at me?

ClarencesMum · 02/10/2020 08:07

God you really are hard of thinking...

Potterpotterpotter · 02/10/2020 08:08

Think the comment was aimed at the poster that made a jib about my parents. Keep up.

ineedaholidaynow · 02/10/2020 08:08

But by giving a false number @Potterpotterpotter you are making it more likely that people will get ill as the test and trace system won’t work and the virus will spread more. You may not be wishing people ill but you don’t seem to care if they do get ill. I am sorry about your family member dying alone, but the longer this virus remains spreading without any control the more people who will be in the same situation as your family member.

ClarencesMum · 02/10/2020 08:08

Dont be daft Jane the supermarkets have always been wee safe havens that the virus can't penetrate Grin

Potterpotterpotter · 02/10/2020 08:09

So true😂 Covid doesn’t exist in Tesco and M&S!
MyPersona · 02/10/2020 08:09
@inappropriateraspberry better hope it’s not the same area then as me 😂
I think most of us are fervently hoping that we don’t live in the same area as you or arseholes like you.

My area is also very low, but cases per 100k tripled in the last 7 days.

It’s a pity it doesn’t target utter cunts.

Boobissue · 02/10/2020 08:10

@ClarencesMum why am I hard of thinking? I didn't say anything about @Potterpotterpotter parents!

YOU GOT IT WRONG!

Boobissue · 02/10/2020 08:11

@Potterpotterpotter but @ClarencesMum comment was aimed at me!

Keep up!

ClarencesMum · 02/10/2020 08:11

Yup... hard of thinking.

Potterpotterpotter · 02/10/2020 08:11
**@ClarencesMum* why am I hard of thinking? I didn't say anything about @Potterpotterpotter* parents!

Ffs. She didn’t tag you in the post when she wrote about my parents. It wasn’t aimed at you!! She wasn’t speaking to you! Keep up!!

Boobissue · 02/10/2020 08:12

I love the justification of but we don't have to do it at supermarkets, I love the way the ones lying just write their own rules.

I mean that's not selfish at all.

ClarencesMum · 02/10/2020 08:12

You have more patience than me potter Grin

Boobissue · 02/10/2020 08:13

@Potterpotterpotter who did she tag.........?

Keep up!

Boobissue · 02/10/2020 08:14

She's probably got more time of her hands @ClarencesMum not having to deal with the marketing texts from her children's barber.
