I’m up watching the first presidential debate from the UK. Who would get your vote?

Yabu.... j actually like trump. Yes he is an idiot but he's more normal than Biden.

There is nothing normal about Trump. How any decent person can support a racist, sexist bully with fascist tendencies baffles me.

Biden is pretty uninspiring but the alternative is appalling.

The POTUS is the figurehead.
Its the team behind them that matters.

Trump has deliberately and systematically destroyed the offices and operations of the US Government
in ways that will harm the whole world.

Are Americans allowed to weigh in? I am voting for Biden, and it’s the easiest choice in the world. Trump is horrendous for the country and the world. Biden may not be perfect, but he is coming from a sincere place and respects the lives of all Americans.

Biden would not be my first choice as Democratic candidate

But I care about women’s rights, I care about affordable healthcare, I care about people being able to vote and have their vote counted, I care about the future of humanity on this planet, I think Black Lives Matter

Biden will do. Kamala Harris is fantastic so really my vote would be for her.
I'd vote for a steaming pile of dog shit to be President before I'd vote for Trump.

I’m glad I’m not the only one to be extremely concerned about the media silence and ‘softening’ of his behaviour (oh silly touchy feely Uncle Joe!). It’s really quite terrifying to think the women who just shouted me down earlier as being some sort of trump sympathiser probably wont even watch those videos, or if they do will ignore the feeling in the pit of their stomach and just turn a blind eye. Every single time he breaches his position of power to grope or insinuate something sexual to a young girl, he’s setting her up for future abuse, from him or anyone else. Because if nobody steps in and says anything when it’s on camera it must ok right?

We talk about how gaslighted and reduced we are as women, the whole ‘me too’ campaign right? Well this is a huge part of why we don’t speak up. A man caught on camera violating young girls over and over again being downplayed as ‘invading personal space’.

I'd half want to vote Trump so that the Democrats would pick a better candidate next time. However, I'd vote Biden on the grounds that I can't comprehend him being worse. Plus maybe his advisers would be better.

Holding my hands up, I didn’t know about the rape allegations against Trump (genuinely - I am not American and NOT a trump supporter) so I would just vote for neither. Is that better? I am NOT pro-trump. I’m pro protecting innocent vulnerable children and women from predators. Please at least watch the videos I shared for your own awareness.

@ListeningQuietly really not fake videos. Watch them. Grooming and groping women children isn’t irrelevant. You don’t just dismiss the violating of children on camera just because it happened in 2015.

I’ve worked and lived in the USA different times during Obama and Trump. It’s very different now and I haven’t been back since.

If people sit at home and don’t vote trump is going to win again. They are both awful but please use your vote!

PolitiFact says no evidence re claims of Biden and paedophillia. Doesn’t mean it’s not true of course.

Like other posters I’d vote for pretty much anything other than another four years of Trump. USA will become a fascist dictatorship if he gets in I reckon.

Thanks for your message. I had no idea Biden was a paedophile until I read this thread. Vile man. And I’ve told my dh why I was so upset now and he’s apologised. He apparently has no recollection of me telling him. It is very possible I never did as it we’ve been together for a very long time and it’s not something I had processed at that stage - my mother hushed it up and told me not to tell my grandma. I imagine my mother decided she’d rather not know about her boyfriend being attracted to children. The way he disabled me even in his advancing years makes me believe he was well practiced and will have molested children. I agree with you about the me too movement. My mother put an adult before a child. How many times did this happen in the past and it’s still happening now?

@Msmcc1212 I don’t know who funds Politifact. I do know what my own eyes see. Did you watch the videos? I’m just literally sharing videos that seem to display a very worrying repetition of behaviours towards children that align with grooming. And I don’t understand why people are denying their own eyes and gut feeling about whether something is really ‘off’ with him.

I also didn’t know the rape allegations against Trump, can’t say I’m surprised as he’s a pig of a man.

I think Harris is the most impressive out of all of them.

I have only got to page 2 but I am shocked the amount of posters saying they are as bad as each other. Biden is a centrist and his mental powers seem waning but i wouldn’t hesitate to pick him over Trump who is a habitual liar, happy to stoke violent civil unrest and support extreme right wing militias. He has already made it clear he is willing to not respect the vote and upend any notion of a democratically elected President. If he wins by hook or crook US could be facing their last Presidential election before Trump overturns any semblance of democracy. I hope and pray America vote him out but I know if it’s not a clear win within a few days Trump could unleash a shit storm.
