Is this a boy?!

Hi everyone

I had my 20 weeks scan a few weeks ago. At 15 weeks we was told boy At hospital was scanned for around 40 minutes, then at 16 a girl at a private clinic scanned for no more than 5 minutes and then at 20 weeks a boy at my anomaly scan which took 55 minutes .

She gave me this picture and said this was the boy bits. It is a front shot so the bladder is above it and I have circled what she told me was balls and penis. Do you all think this looks like a boy shot?

Is this a boy?!

I also thought it was a head @Spidey66 !!

Bluetrews25 · 29/09/2020 13:10

Does OP maybe want the girl, and is looking for reassurance?

Anniegetyourgun · 29/09/2020 13:14

I can't even tell if it's a baby Confused

@Bluetrews25

Does OP maybe want the girl, and is looking for reassurance?
Yeah, a load of randoms on the internet tossing a coin will determine the sex of her baby.
IvySpivey · 29/09/2020 13:16

Yes, but are all happy wankers.

Melroses · 29/09/2020 13:21

All I can see is a duck to be honest. Sorry!

There you go! Sorted.

Buy yellow. It is a lovely, happy colour.

NotSorry · 29/09/2020 13:22

Didn't find out with any of my 4 - I don't understand this need to know - OP enjoy your baby whether it's a boy or a girl

LittleGwyneth · 29/09/2020 13:25

If you really want to know you can get a blood test.

chrislilleyswig · 29/09/2020 13:26

YA definitely BU

or maybe YANBU

What was the question again?

katy1213 · 29/09/2020 13:31

Well, whatever it is, that's what you've got.

daisyjgrey · 29/09/2020 13:36

And herein lies the reason that grammar and spelling are important in opening posts...

To be absolutely brutal OP, nobody cares except you. And possibly your immediate family.

Eevee25 · 29/09/2020 13:43

Why does everyone assume wanting to find out the sex means parents are trying to conform to gender stereotypes?

I found out my 1st and 3rd dc sex because I was terrible at picking names and wanted to at least narrow it down a bit, still took until my 3rd was two weeks old before I settled on one 😆

I also bought lots of pink for my daughters, not trying to force them to be all frilly and fairly but because another of it looked nice, they also have lots of neutral, blue clothes etc they also both love dinosaurs, cars , horses, dolls so me buying pink clothes had no sexist effect on them whatsoever.

Either way as long as the baby is healthy and happy thats all that matters, and the benefit of waiting to find out adds to the excitement.

ohdearmymistake · 29/09/2020 13:44

Wont a healthy baby do???

Anniemabel · 29/09/2020 13:48

You said you were told it was a girl at the private clinic. If you’ve since been told it’s a boy at your anomaly’s can the private clinic may be happy to have you back in since it’s likely to be their mistake.

Anniemabel · 29/09/2020 13:49

I mean they’re likely to offer you a free confirmation appointment.

Yesterdayforgotten · 29/09/2020 13:53

Congratulations on your baby boy op! In my experience they can easily mistake boys for girls in earlier scans. However they don't tend to get them wrong later when they're more developed especially not at 20 weeks and in such an in depth scan! Is this your first pregnancy? Is your preference girl?

pastandpresent · 29/09/2020 13:54

I was reading with a sympathy for confusion, until the OP's comment. That's a very lovely attitude for people taking time for you.

Peacenquiet2 · 29/09/2020 14:02

I had a late scan for my last DC to check positioning and that's the exact underneath view we were shown, id say boy for sure

IvySpivey · 29/09/2020 14:17

OP posted a similar thing on Friday.

ValidUser · 29/09/2020 14:39

I found out with our NIPT. After lots of fertility treatment (IVF), it helped me believe he was real and this was actually happening. So I totally get the desire to find out. Also, we have a name for him, and it's nice to refer to him by that.

And while I don't believe in pigeonholing babies into gender roles, or care too much about clothing, I also now know not to buy clothes that say "pretty little girl" lest the photos humiliate him as a teenager.

ZolaGrey · 29/09/2020 14:53

You posted an identical thread last week Hmm

Motorina · 29/09/2020 14:58

On the basis of precisely zero knowledge of or training in ultrasounds, that looks like a beak to me.

I think you're having a duck.

Congratulations.
