The Use of random capitals Drives me to Distraction.

I also really hate people who use "as such" all the time. What do they mean? We have someone at work who writes things like:

"the budgets have not been finalised, as such"

VooJu · 10/10/2007 21:25

LOL Tutter, my FIL also uses a ruler to write with. I am

However I am also guilty of Random Capitalisation, sometimes it can be a Good Thing to emphasise what you are trying to say

EmsMum · 10/10/2007 21:27

Perpetrators should be randomly sentenced to ... wait for it... capital punishment.

Sorry.

ScottishMummy · 10/10/2007 21:27

i LOVe RanDOM capitalisation - no PARTICULAR reason i JUST do

ScottishMummy · 10/10/2007 21:28

LOL CAPITAl punishment - i do love a good pun

stripeymama · 10/10/2007 21:32

You are not. I just posted on similar lines here

I agree that anything that helps convey the tone of the message is a good thing. But who can really be arsed bothered to preview their messages? In RL I talk quite quickly. The hubbie of one of my friends is very deliberate and slow in the way he speaks. He does not say much but what he does say is always very well thought out and clever. If he were a mn-er he would preview his messages as he is boring as hell made that way. His spelling and grammar would always be perfect.

LOL @ 'Craggy Island for punctuation freaks'.

Ok. I wasn't going to post here (for fear of my knowingly quite poor grammar ) until I spent the last twenty minutes or so on a thread with a poster who keeps writing everything in inverted commas.
It is extremely bloody annoying, especially when MN gives you the options to use bold and italic and even underlining for emphasis.

ScottishMummy · 10/10/2007 23:40

LoRayningNewtsAndFrogs - hello we have both been slogging it out on other thread disputing OP - fruitless op will deliberately digress or belittle (new)MN'etters to avoid original OP and fact that it is absolte pants

FrannyandZooey · 11/10/2007 09:39

yes all over

all over the place

I suppose I should be more careful how I phrase things on This thread
