To think if you can't control your sphincter

You shouldn't go to a yoga class!

Fair enough that the odd trump occasionally pops out (never happened to me but can see that it might) but to fart on and off throughout the class at every change of position I think is fairly grim.

Bearing in mind we are trying to avoid peoples oral fumes, I don't want to spend 50 minutes breathing in their anal ones!

Before I get attacked by people mentioning physical problems that may cause gas, I have suffered from IBS in the past and would not attend a yoga class if I knew I was having a particularly bad day.

YABU - Everyone can enjoy yoga, even if they are tooting throughout the class.
YANBU - that is grim.

I hope you are not referring to me here

tectonicplates · 28/09/2020 15:18

@ToastyCrumpet

I thought farts in yoga classes were an accepted thing?
They are in the real world, but so many people on here are frankly neurotic about anything loo-related that this post doesn't surprise me. In fact I'm surprised the OP thinks the woman in her class should go to the loo at all, seeing as so many people on here won't even use a public loo at all and apparently hold everything in for ten hours a day.

I take my blessed bottle on holiday too so I never get the Spanish tummy my friends all seem to get from time to time

With friends like that, who needs enemas?

Aposterhasnoname · 28/09/2020 15:20

Grin not sure which is funnier anordinarymums post or the number of people who think it’s serious.

DioneTheDiabolist · 28/09/2020 15:20

The farts dont bother me. I could have done without the low hanging testicles of the man in front of me though.Shock

Cheetahfajita · 28/09/2020 15:22

I wouldn't like it and would move next time.

Rigamorph · 28/09/2020 15:22

If other people's medical issues distress you so much then do your yoga classes online where you won't be inconvenienced by the real lives of other human beings.....

I am pretty sure that they won't be doing it deliberately to upset you. Perhaps they had a difficult childbirth and are doing yoga to help their pelvic floor muscles. I hope I am not resented at yoga classes if my next childbirth proves to be disastrous for my sphincter....

No one mentioned your name, @Anordinarymum? We have one/several trolls who enjoy this sort of topic. Whether reading or posting, threads with (explicit and fairly fetishistic) details of bowel movements will be giving them what they want.

I am funny aren't I :) Sorry but my post was genuine.
VickySunshine · 28/09/2020 15:23

I now have a mental picture of an exercise class full of women farting for England, .. " Now ladies, into the Lotus position ... trump, parp, pffffft". Wine.

Ah............ I understand. I am perfectly genuine and not a poo troll but on the subject of poo I can talk............
CounsellorTroi · 28/09/2020 15:24

I hear one or two trumps during my zoom pilates class and have done one myself once. However it's difficult to identify the culprit online and smell is not an issue.

Palavah · 28/09/2020 15:25

Is this the same person in multiple classes?

Don't you put everyone on mute? I'm sure most online teachers do. Why are you keeping their sound on?

Sounda painful Anordinarymum. Glad you found something that helps! Smile

Quietintheranks · 28/09/2020 15:33

Been teaching yoga for 15years and I couldn’t count how many times it’s happened in class. Mostly it’s ignored by all, occasionally it has caused much hilarity. At the moment all my classes are online and students are all muted so they can happily trump away with impunity (or impoonity). Lesson in non-attachment?

Disfordarkchocolate · 28/09/2020 15:35

This is the reason I would never do a yoga class.

Emmylou292 · 28/09/2020 15:37

The only problem I would have with it is my inability to control my laughter if I heard someone let one go! Childish of me I know, but the more I try to stop myself laughing the worse it gets! I just try so hard to keep a straight face and think about something sad, but the more I tell myself "Don't laugh! Just carry on!" the worse it gets.

Satsuma2 · 28/09/2020 15:37

Heptember 😂😂😂

MoonSauce · 28/09/2020 15:38

I feel sorry for Anordinarymum - I’ve got chronic bowel issues related to multiple illnesses and I was given an anal douche by the clinic I was attending. It’s not abnormal by a long shot.

But I’m a persistent tooter so it’ll happen even if I’m empty.

I wouldn’t want to be stuck in a room of arse emissions but I’m not one to talk.

cultkid · 28/09/2020 15:39

@Anordinarymum

Hahahahahahaah hahaha I love this
