Might be all the stress in the world at the moment but it’s made me think about what I’d give for a couple of doves and the clammy hands that come with them. Don’t think my heart could take it now Sad

And dry bar for the mancs !

Notmydaughteryoubitch · 27/09/2020 22:47

Me, me, me! If I could guarantee they weren't dodgy, overcome the fear that comes with being in your latter years, not have the comedown with a 4 year-old. I dreamt about it the other night randomly and was remembering the feeling of running my hands through my hair as I came up. Ah those halcyon days...

Damnloginpopup · 27/09/2020 22:48

Never tried it, never offered it, never needed it and didn't even do the rave scene or like the music but those days were still the greatest times of my life. I'm of the age. But I'm sure I missed out all the same. I knew people who knew Leah, not sure that was much of a factor for me to be honest. I still feel invincible though, at 47, but when I was 17 I KNEW I was. We all were. We miss that.

Dropped my daughter at uni today. She's wearing (stolen) the jacket I wore through the 90s. At least my fucking clothes can carry on the party Grin

BatShite · 27/09/2020 22:48
@BatShite I had that just once! It was amazing, yeah like a half-buzz, like a reverse hangover it was so good, I just kept waiting for the inevitable crushing comedown and it didn’t happen. Try as I might to re-live that, it never happened again.
Yeah a few people had it as a fluke it seems, but it was everytime for me [gri]

I got cocky, and assumed it would be the same for all substances (bar alcohol), having never experienced a comedown. So I tried speed. Never ever again.

TokyoSushi · 27/09/2020 22:48

I was a Cream girl, and sometimes Garlands when they handed out ice pops about 4am!

Tootletum · 27/09/2020 22:49

Yeah it was nice wasn't it.

Bubbletrouble43 · 27/09/2020 22:50

I've found my people. Yanbu op.

Whatnext2018 · 27/09/2020 22:52

@LetsBeSensible Yes! Sankeys and Paradise factory were amazing too 👏

Scottishandconfused · 27/09/2020 22:53

YANBU. Loved it

Quaagars · 27/09/2020 22:53

See, I'm in my 40s and didn't have a fricking clue what you were blithering on about until reading further in and seeing must be referring to the drug
Never been interested, still not just nope lol
Booze on the other hand late teens yep plenty of that and still now
Drugs though?
Hard nope

Whatnext2018 · 27/09/2020 22:54

@capricorn12 I only got to go to Hacienda a couple of times, then it shut 🙈I was very young then, maybe 15/16? Around 94/95
Back to basics definitely rings a bell and there was one place we travelled to in Wigan I think 🤔

LetsBeSensible · 27/09/2020 22:54

@TokyoSushi Garlands made me do it!

ChelseeDagger · 27/09/2020 22:56

LetsBeSensible

Whatnext2018 · 27/09/2020 22:56

SayWhatTheWhatNow · 27/09/2020 22:57

Do the kids of today still have E? I thought it was left way back with the furry boots n glo sticks. Bet they ain't 3 for a tenner anymore

itsureis · 27/09/2020 22:59

The State and Garlands - every Friday night.
Dancing without a care in the world, looking in the mirror and thinking you looked amazing !!!
That doesn't happen often these days 😂

kingsleyhimself · 27/09/2020 22:59

yeah!

keys and fags in your bra, sweaty as fuck, dance all night, leaving the club to go to a rave in a derilict building, doing a runner when the police came the walking home as the sun came up with some guy you'd never spoken to before

a pint of water, 2 hours kip then off to work. snooze in the bogs at lunchtime

9 hour shift, back home for a disco nap then start again

fuck me, in those days I had the stamina of a marathon runner Grin

Rachie1973 · 27/09/2020 22:59

I’m from the Grange Hill ‘just say no’ era so never tried anything more than a bit of weed and that made me sick lol. I didn’t even drink in the 90s lol

But that beat! I still love it

Mid 40s now, kids are grown, love a binge drinking night out in our town with my daughters lol. Pub crawl up the high street and end in the sticky carpet of the Pink Toothbrush.

NancyPickford · 27/09/2020 23:00

Never had E, but I do miss proper weed like we had in the olden days, not Skunk, but Thai grass etc, Leb and so on. Sigh.

hezz · 27/09/2020 23:01

Anyone else remember the Dennis the menace red and black capsules?

Ibiza 89. Best year of my life.

FreshfieldsGal · 27/09/2020 23:01

Happy hazy memories of the State, apart from the toilets where the queues were ridiculous, there was nearly always a fight, the smell of liquid gold and sweat dripping from the ceiling.
Loved it!

BatonRouge · 27/09/2020 23:01

@Domino20

I can remember walking into the Astoria on a jungle night called Roast. It was like a religious experience, just phenomenal. Sometimes didn't think I'd escape my twenties alive, wild times 💗
Wicked, nothing like a bit of old school Jungle to get the party lively. Jungle Roast is still going ya know, they do a few events a year, last one at E1 and mostly frequented by older ravers from back in the day.
Whatnext2018 · 27/09/2020 23:02

Maximes!! Anyone?
Had to message a friend as forgot the name 😂

HeadLikeAFuckinOrange · 27/09/2020 23:03

YANBU. I still think the same as i did in my teens, they should be legalised and regulated.

BatShite · 27/09/2020 23:06

Now getting long forgotten memories of rubbing my hands on the fabric of my sofa amazed by how wonderful it felt

And Blush staring at myself for ages in mirrors, convinced that I actually looked like a disney princess with how big and beautiful my eyes looked. That best not just have been me..or a namechange may be in order!
