I would suck at being a swimmer.

Anything where I’m required to be overly nice to someone - Sales and the like.
Anything sports related.
Anything where I have to work with children. I love my own, I’m not a fan of others.
Anything that involves rubbing someone in any way - masseur, physical therapist, prostitute etc.

underneaththeash · 27/09/2020 23:52

@Fishfingersandwichplease - and me, I have so much patience for children and absolutely none for old people (which isn't great being an Optometrist!)
I only tend to do children and laser surgery aftercare now.

I also dislike feet and teeth although I think I could put my mind to anything else

PontiacBandit · 27/09/2020 23:54

Anything customer facing. I cannot deal with general public with a cheery disposition.

Before I worked in an opticians, I never knew how much time the elderly spend there. Christ, it’s like a day out for some of them.

JadziaSnax · 28/09/2020 00:00

Driving Instructor. I am a terrible passenger and would be on the dual controls like a shot.

MrsToothyBitch · 28/09/2020 00:02

@DrDreReturns I sacked my PGCE off too. Grin
What did you initially train to teach and what did you end up doing instead?

Saracen · 28/09/2020 00:06

Sales, like my dad. When between jobs and desperate, he did a brief stint as a life insurance salesman. Unfortunately, he kept truthfully advising some people that they did not need life insurance at all as they had no dependents, and advising others that a different financial product would be more suitable for them.

Heffalooomia · 28/09/2020 00:08

@FoodLover36

I would suck at being a swimmer.
I hate any and all kinds of work I do like swimming though:o
Saracen · 28/09/2020 00:09

Politician. Even the most scrupulous of them will at times have to cut deals with unsavoury characters in order to get things done. And you have to toe the party line even if you don't agree with it at all! Plus I can't lie to save my life.

Egghead68 · 28/09/2020 00:09

Supetmodel

Saracen · 28/09/2020 00:10

Spy. I hate having to look over my shoulder and would be terrified of being found out. I can't think on my feet. I can't lie. I am rubbish at figuring out whom to trust.

seayork2020 · 28/09/2020 00:12

Any job involving organising a group of children so child care, teacher, scout leader etc.

I do not hate kids I am just hopeless at being a 'leader' as such

Saracen · 28/09/2020 00:15

Delivery driver. I strongly dislike driving in unfamiliar areas. I also can't bear the notion I might be inconveniencing anyone or doing the wrong thing, so rather than pull up across someone's drive for a minute, or on the pavement or double yellows, I would end up circling around looking for a nice sensible legal parking space, which would inevitably be a long long way from the house to which I was delivering! I don't suppose it is often even possible to find a space where you can park a lorry legally at all.

Saracen · 28/09/2020 00:16

Traffic warden. Even if I thought all the people I was ticketing were horrible cheeky gits, I still wouldn't want to be so hated.

Saracen · 28/09/2020 00:18

Vet. I don't like being around stressed-out bitey animals, and my heart breaks when an animal is frightened or in pain. On top of that, there are the owners, and I don't much like dealing with people!

ReallyLazy · 28/09/2020 00:28

Anything involving practical care, from teaching sticky young children in a preschool to nursing in a care home.

I'm here to chat to and show moral support or run errands but i could never be a nurse.

blueshoes · 28/09/2020 00:34

Anything social or which depends on being liked or leading groups of people to do team activities.
Anything to do with fiddling with things rather than with concepts and words.
Anything where I have to deal with the general public - I have no patience for idiocy.
Anything which requires me to look at disturbing images or read disturbing accounts - I will get secondary PTSD because I cannot get them out of my head.

DrDreReturns · 28/09/2020 06:53

@MrsToothyBitch I trained to be a secondary science teacher - it was just over 20 years ago. After dropping out I worked in forensic science for a decade, and since then I've been working as a computer programmer.

TwilightSkies · 28/09/2020 06:58

Anything to do with computers.
Or cold hard facts and no creativity.
Also couldn’t do a corporate job with ass-kissing and endless meetings and all the fakery.

CSIblonde · 28/09/2020 07:59

Anything to do with maths or finance. I can budget fine because I'm organised & practical, but spreadsheets all day long , grim, just grim.

Lolaloveslemonade · 28/09/2020 08:56

Before I worked in an opticians, I never knew how much time the elderly spend there. Christ, it’s like a day out for some of them.

Ditto chiropodist, dentist, hairdressers, doctors. My MIL has an appointments for each on a rota! 😊

rainkeepsfallingdown · 28/09/2020 09:00

Butcher
Olympian
Hairdresser
Surgeon
Bus driver
Groundskeeper
Vet
Carer
Farmer
Anything military/naval/air force related
The Queen

Er... I'd suck at quite a lot of different jobs, actually.

Thatbliddywoman · 28/09/2020 09:01

Cleaning
Sales
Anything involving meat

The80sweregreat · 28/09/2020 09:02

A builder as not any good at measuring or maths! How do they work out quantities? (Same for any job involving numbers etc. )
A waitress as I drop too many things!
Anything to do with big flash coffee machines. They look scary to use!

lalalalaloo · 28/09/2020 09:14

Sales-
I just cba and I cringe at the thought of it.

Physical work-
On a site or elsewhere, I'm shite with the cold
